But jokes apart, production values r in the pits these days in our show...clothes, make up, everything...truly baffling why the PH would do this to their no. 1 show 😕

The brocades which r used for clothes in our show, r the cheap ones which r available in Surat for 70-100 rupees a metre...I know this bec I recently went to Surat to purchase brocades for my work...even the borders which BT uses in this show r available dirt cheap there...hence it truly baffles me as to what stops them from giving their leads better clothes!!!...n also, more variety in clothes...😕

Emperor's clothes to say the least is disgusting. He does not look royalty now. Infact there are few scenes where he comes with taj and talwar these days. And Jodha , he skin comes across very ordinary. And she has also put on much weight - She looked best in badal-kajri track, I think in terms of makeup. They both ought to be given new clothes.

Was just watching Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam the other way - What glorious colour combinations for Ash ? JA makers can take some cue ? These faltu bordered dresses with loose shoulder fitting make her look awful.

Salima has the best clothes of all begums, I think.

Start of JA both Jalal and Jodha's costumes were good. I guess Jodha got all the good ones from Amer and since Mughal empire condition is not so good as Begum her clothes are not as good 😆

Seriously why can't they atleast give good clothes to leads?

I don't think PS has put on weight, the costumes are not good and fitting bad, make-up is bad. The bad make-up makes her face look round. See the episodes at the start of JA, I think she has lost weight since then.

Lines in bold, really I wish the burn the pink olive costumes of Jodha's and off-white overcoat of Jalal's!

His kohl seems to never be in the right place and they either over gel or not gel his hair at all. On the other hand Jodha's clothes look so TACKY. String are coming off, the borders are coming apart, there is no coherence between the ghagra and the aanchal colour. They look pathetic on screen and in a royal set up.

As for Jodha's makeup it has gone down the drain. They put that plaing old on her eyes. I liked it much better when they gave that merge effect and made her eyes look bigger and better. 🥱

As for costumes, I think its high time we sent a few as gifts to the set. The PH seems so kanjoos they might use it also. What I do not get is that JA is running in over 10 countires otside India and EKta must be getting money from all of them, so here DOES ALL THE MONEY GO? ❓

Yes actually Chatan/Adham mostly wore the orange costume, the sleeves of his new costume were made of same material as Jalal's jama. 😆 While Rahim's costume from leftover material after making Adham's maybe!

Jodha's costumes are tacky and look soo ordinary and inexpensive. Not even suitable for a bandi's costume.
Her make-up used to be so good, Paridhi looked amazing especially in post wedding tracks - remember the look in the aarati.

Seriously if things don't improve we might have to pitch in start a fund for JJ costumes!

Line in red - really what do they spend it on? There has to be budget for costumes so how come everybody else apart from leads seem to get better clothes!

Ruk has got good costumes with jari work and bright colors. Maybe can ask Bhavana to make a thread of old v/s new. Ruk's old costumes v/s new ones and Jodha's old costumes v/s new ones. Everybody will realize the difference.

Wonder what their problem is in giving good costumes to leads!

Leads costumes are getting more pathetic and lesser and lesser in number!

Lines in bold, seriously they must be earning well on JA, why not spend on better costumes and make-up? Costumes cost money but what is about make-up? Why they can't do better job?

Absolutely, Ekta can make her sbs anytime and will keep doing them, JA was her dream project then why has she turned away from it? How can Ekta not notice the shabby costumes and make-up of her leads? Is Ekta even keeping track of what is happening on the sets in JA?
Why the leads seem to get rough deal for make-up and costumes.

Did you see the pic Anjali shared? Even Moti's make-up seems better than Jodha's and costume brighter!

Honestly, I also notice such stuff 😕 - when Paridhi's eye liner parts company near the corner of her eyes and no eye liner is applied on corner but the two lines run parallel I feel SO IRRITATED! I can't stop myself from noticing and getting distracted! The blouses threads are coming out!

Granted JA is an expensive serial to make - sets, large number of support cast but then they are also No.2 in TRPs mostly have been in Top 3. It is also dubbed in many languages and telecast in other countries also. Surely they can afford better clothes for leads!

Jalal looked exceedingly handsome in his l.blue jama (stolen by salima during mirchi war...😡) and his pink and purple during his talks with Bharmal. What have they done with those outfits.😕. What happened to his baby pink jama of jo birthday.

Jo too looked very pretty in her wedding clothes and in her light green ones that she wore during the send off for parokh dandiya war and the off white ones in the first aarti scene. Where are those clothes and where are those make up artists?

You are totally right in your description of her eye liner. Railway track. . Jalal's kohl and Ruqaiya's plain eyez without kajal are pathetic too. But we should feel relieved that they have omitted the scary looking white liner for jo and ruks.

Don't be jealous of sd's clothes. Poor guy. This is the third he has got

MA died with just 2. So did AK and Atgah. Just 2. Moti too has had only 2 since the beginning of the show -one yellow and one purple. Rahim Hoshiyaar and many others have had just one. 😲 Ruqs and Salima have had just 4 in all. (Though i admit Salima looks pretty these days.😳)

This is the most impoverished sultanate, i tell you.😕

Not just the costumes, even the jewelry. Jalal's round fat ring that i used to admire a lot looks so dull and dark. Jo's too look faded.

Exactly! Wonderful comment, they can't ignore costumes in a costume drama - they are part of the look, feel of the serial.

Do you remember the wedding costume of Paridhi? The jewelry and her dupatta border was co-ordinated exactly to match. The post wedding costumes, make-up, jewelry was so amazing.

Since after Sujamal track the costumes make-up everything is bad. The pink and olive costumes are PLAIN BAD.

No.2 serial in TRPs and leads are given such pathetic costumes that too they repeat in every 2-3 episodes!
