As you said its true balance is needed.He has to care for his wife as the kids are important politically too being the heir.But in the initial first two months after delivery ,if he is around her that too is also ok but then he has restrain himself .😆
Again this is the time when the senior ladies in the house take over the responsibility too.He is not required 24/7 .

Ladies, actually I have read that in those times, rulers didn't go anywhere near the birth or even after the birth to see the kids until a certain amount of time has passed. Akbar did stay away from seeing Salim for some days I think.

I think it was the norm followed in common people too those days I heard.Again it's a big royal joint family with lots of servants so the responsibility was shared .

Right. So Jalal being involved in this is actually another NR...that produced the sweetest scenes of him with the babies.

I could be wrong, but from what I read Akbar stayed away from seeing Salim for almost 3 months because of their many children died prior to salim. So as per custom the father should see the child only after 3 months especially cases when kids died..something along this line..
