Thank you, my dear, I am glad you enjoyed this contrary take.

No cleverness, Ela, that was meant as pure satire!

Jalal these days will cry for anything, my dear. I never saw a man so powerful cry so much and so often. It is not at all my idea of a strong man. Rhett Butler never cried.

Of course he cried for his Badiammi, but in the old days, when he suspected her of engineering Ruqaiya's miscarriage, he would have decapitated her if he had decided that she was guilty. Now, when she has plotted with Atifa to dethrone him - after which he would surely have been murdered in due course - he forgets all that, and the Chand Begum affair, which was even worse as it was due to pure greed and callousness, just because she is going to pop off. Bizarre!

That was why I wondered about what he would have done now had the truth about the earlier serial miscarriages had been suddenly revealed.

It is really very sweet, Ela, and I have started watching it. A nice change from all the plotting and scheming and betrayal and rona dhona in Jodha Akbar and pretty much everywhere else.

I also like Airlines, a weekly one hour show on Sunday, 9 pm, on Star Plus. It is only 4 episodes old, and you can easily catch up with those 4 online. You will like it; it is about a feisty woman pilot, a species which is not too common even today.

Then there is Neeli Chatriwale on Zee, Saturday and Sunday evenings, one hour each, about an unsuccessful salesman in Kanpur who is befriended by Lord Shiva in civvies, so to speak. The actor who plays Shiva was the Lord Buddha in the serial of that name that is just ending in Zee. I like this one too, it is unassuming and gentle both in its humour and the simple lessons for life that it offers. Try it; you can start anywhere, as the episodes are almost stand alone.

First of all, my dear Prav (what is your actual name, if you do not mind?), a big thank you for liking my earlier posts, and this one too, so much. My posts are an acquired taste, and so I am always pleased when someone new takes to them.

I write a lot about Jodha Akbar, or at least I used to till it became too dismal even for me, and I did 99 episode analyses here before I moved to Dhwani. If you want to look them up, just PM me your e-mail id and I will send you the list, which I had made for Sandhya some months ago, duly updated.

You can then get at whatever you want, for they have the episode number. If you love Paridhi's Jodha, do start with Samhaar, and the Camelot posts about the Badal-Kajri track, which to my mind was their best so far as romantic pair. Yes, and the Neither a doormat nor a donkey one, which got me into trouble with the mods here because, I suspect, they never read it, and kept on insisting that I was comparing Jodha to a donkey, whereas it was the opposite!😉

As for your comments below, I agree completely, especially the part in red. I found this sentimentalising over a very wicked woman insupportable; it was as if there was no difference at all between her and Atgah Khan!😡 I wanted to clout both Jalal and Jodha good and proper.

Yesterday's episode was such a let down for me too...
I know maham was in sync with her character and died as she is always. We could never expect maham to feel regret but her salute to Jo was so OTT and not all needed as she has kept her end of business deal by praising jo ...I think that salute was again included to make that hindu daasi's curse true... this prominence given by cv's for curses . just irked me out...
1.Hindu daasi cursed maham -happened
2.maham cursed jo-twins will die ...for sure its going to be an unnatural death
3.maham retracted her curses and bless Jo will be muz-salim will be born and she will be muz
I at least wished saguni bai would say "no matter what maham thinks she can curse and retract it..fate cannot be changed or rewritten by mere human beings.. rather than that blatant this curse will happen ..

This whole glorification of a villain is unbearable to me ...Maham is neither a sage nor there is an ounce of justification in her stance then y this much importance that too fora curse...

P.S,
I'm new to this forum and missed your daily intakes which you said you were doing earlier ,is there anyway i could read that? . Just recently got a chance to read all your posts through the link you have provided in some of the earlier threads .. Loved your unique style of writing often interlaced with humor . I love Jo aka pari but your post have always brought a smile onto me ..

Ela dear,

What you have said about the simple, reassuring goodness in these 2 serials is spot on. I hope they both do very well TRP-wise.

I can guarantee that you will like Airlines, which is to have only 26 episodes.

Yesterday's episode was so heartwarming, was it not, especially that poor, harried, desperate wife carrying the donor heart? Also the big businessman who is so moved by her heartbroken weeping that he gets ready to charter a jet to take her to Mumbai. And of course our lead pair.

But I have a suggestion. Do try and watch the 4 earlier episodes online as well. There is a mystery centred on Akash Saluja that starts literally from the first opening shot in Episode 1,and pops up periodically, quite distinct from the main story in any one episode. In fact I spotted that clue only when I was rewatching Episode 1. You would have noted the snippet at the end of the latest episode last night, with him and a much older gentleman who is pulling him up about the strikebreaking incident. Also the bit in the precap about one Mahima having died. I am sure she has been bumped off.

I am also sure that Akash is a Defence Intelligence Agency (they call it Bureau here) agent who is a pilot as well, and who has been assigned to track down something nefarious that is in the works, one of the tentacles of which is in this airline. Soon there will a conflict between the demands of his undercover assignment and all these crises that Ananya keeps dragging him into. The one in Episode 4, where her bag gets exchanged with the identical one of a Russian diplomat who is a temporary drugs carrier, ending in a mad chase to get to the police station before the goons get our lead pair, was side-splitting!

Hello, Aunty, Hope you are good. 😊

I'm watching Airlines...and I liked it along with the mystery surrounding Aakash...he's an ex- army man, I think, in first episode, he introduced thus...though, I too feel he's an intelligence dude...even yesterday episode indicated that.

No, more on any other show, lest Khushi's tread will be in trouble😉

Regarding JA, Aunty, i want some lighter episodes, though can't be sure of its quality, but its horrible seeing Jalal crying every other day😕

Very true, my dear Mishti, so to make this all good and proper, I shall note that I am not looking forward to this week's post facto lamentations for Mahaam. I am sure the birth of the twins, and their early demise, must be months away, unless Ekta is going in for a leap of a few months.
