Maddy and all,

For all I care, they would have already decided on the Leap. So this week we will have Maham's death with peaceful mind since Jodha has lied to her that her son will have a rebirth as his son, so Maham is going to be a grand mother. This news will give her some respire, so she may bless Jodha for giving her such a good news and even brought her DIL with whom she took a promise not to visit her again. So with this she might reveal some truth about Ruqu.
I mean from Saturday's precap, looks like Jalal would have intentionally talked about Radha & Razia just to know about Ruqu's views on female child as her kid. So may be look will be disheartened and might arrange for some Pooja to have male babies (as if with Pooja, the gender can be changed). This may infuriate Jalal and by then if Maham spill some beans about Ruqu's intentions of becoming MUZ using Jodha's kids, Jalal will trash (may be after making her own her plans in public) her and remove her from the close circle of=r may order her to keep some perimeter distance from Jodha and their kids.
So by the end of this week we may see even the birth and death of twins and both Jodha & Jalal moving to Sikri.

Very appropriate and dignified post Abhay. I usually don't bother commenting on all fantasy theories. It is a free country and everyone has the right to live in their La La land. But as an Indian, I do feel the need to speak up when respected freedom fighters, patriotic national heroes and acts of bravery by great people are insulted, subtly or directly, in the name of history.

There is nothing wrong in being a die hard fan of a handsome actor or worship the character he plays. But belittling other great people, their achievements, courage or tragedy, just to prove that he could do no wrong is so not needed. I also believe that Akbar was a great Emperor...but wonder why statements suggesting that Ashoka was "less great" than Akbar or Maharana Pratap was a lesser person than Akbar keep cropping up every now and then ? And now we are being told that the process of unification of post independence India by a patriotic freedom fighter was similar to the brutal massacre of innocent men, women and children. Is it really so difficult to praise Akbar without attacking other unrelated people and events?

No matter how much we dislike Ekta's way of presenting JA, we have to admit that she and Ashutosh Gowarikar have managed to change the image of Akbar for the better in the eyes of many many people. I personally know many people in North India who thought of Akbar as just a successful foreign invader...someone who was better than his ancestors and progenies. Now, they respect him as a great Emperor who cared about the people of 16th century Hindustan. But even EK did not stoop down to disparaging or defaming other great men to highlight the achievements of Akbar.
I fear, who is next in the line of attack?...Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Mother Teresa or someone else...All this done just to argue that Akbar was the only great person who ever walked on planet earth.

Does all this really convince people to start believing the fantasy versions? No...it just leads to annoyance towards Akbar ( a natural human response)...ironically for no fault of his. The historical characters like Ashoka, Maharana Pratap and Sardar Patel have also given us reasons to be proud of our history. They are not here to defend themselves...but we can and will do it.

PS: This is my POV on the use of other names/events in a negative connotation during JA discussions. The names and events I have mentioned have been used/misused in the past to glorify Akbar's achievements on the forum. I didnt see it as a history discussion post therefore didn't post it on the sticky thread. However, if the DT team feels otherwise, please move it to the history discussion thread. I want to clarify that this is not a deliberate attempt to break the history discussion rule. Thank you.

Very well written and balanced post. As much as I respect real akbar and onscreen rajat, I personally do believe that despite his greatness, like all other emperors he would have had a thirst for power and expansion. And yes to me Mughals were foreign invaders, what sets akbar apart was his ideology, and his tolerance . Whether this was because he was genuinely a compassionate visionary or because he understood the only way to rule over a country as diverse and vast as Hindustan was to accept the native way of life, rather than change it is something we can all assume for ourselves. JA has been leaning towards former, and so far cvs have not shown Akbar's greatness at the cost of anyone else's weakness and I hope they do continue the trend.

I know some are pointing towards this romance factor. But as many of our friends have told that this story was not for push and pull and pinning to the wall romance. For that, two big PH houses in Bollywood make dozens of such stories.
If she wanted to show this kind of romance then why Jodha Akbar ? She could have taken any fictional Raja Rani and made this.
This is not a just an ordinary love story but the journey of two people from two different worlds coming together and forming another world.
Now these two people can't say like other lovers" Hum dono ki eek chotisi apni hi aalag duniya jisme koi nahi hain" They can't afford to say such things as he is no majnu ,ranjha ,Romeo etc.He is King of Hindustan .He is father of his aawam .He can't forget them and she won't even ask that.
These lovers have crores of people in their world. This story is about the man who was ahead of his times, who was a great visionary. She was not just an ordinary queen who just did the work of giving heir but she was equal partner of his amazing journey. She herself was a part of administration, she looked after trade, she build mosques .For these exemplary people the story shouldn't be the same ordinary one.
The one example of Jo not being ordinary was ,when she heard of those curses ,she didn't go for chestbeating and crying or accusing her fate but she decided to fight .Who in 16th century would have done this.
We have numerous examples of Akbar not being an ordinary man.
Then when god have made them extraordinary ,who are we to expect such ordinary things from them.
PS :-
If tomorrow some person wants to make love story on Radha Krishna ,can we expect passion in that as we know there was no physical thing in this story but as it was more platonic.
Let's come to this century ,if somebody wants to make story on some couples like the couple who founded one of the biggest software company of India.Everybody knows this story how they started .Shall we expect push and pull romance or shall we see how,a man with rs 10000 from his wife's savings and her support not only made one big MNC giant but has been doing million dollars charity work too.

Hats off Rashmi, a very heartfelt post. This is an epic love story for a reason, so the road side Laila majnu stuff will simply be demeaning. And romance is not just physical closeness, it is being someone's strength and weakness at the same time. But I do understand why there is hue and cry about the romance part. I was watching some old episodes and one line just stood out:

"Yeh woh kahani hai Jo shamsheer ke dhaar pe likhi gayi, aur payal ki jhankaar ko bhi na bhooli" ...

To me this story is about love admist the difficult and trying times of war, dirty politics and hatred. As of now , the story is neither focusing on political aspects and neither too much time is devoted to Jo JA. The screen time that they do share together needs to be increased and they both need to be give quality dialogues. This Ruks asking for baby track has been about Ruks, her dialogs...her self talk...her plotting... What about JA Jo! They are the leads aren't they? Why is no focus given on them...I find Ruks dialog better than Jo, they are crisp and clear ... Jos dialog are very arbid. We have had three quality scenes of Jalal and Ruk on this issue, but 2 very one sided Jo JA scenes - aren't they the parents? I can live with lack of physical proximity, as long as Jo JA are in the same frame, and the setting, direction, and dialogs are intense and meaningful - Which, as of now is are big big let down.

I am very much aware of physical aspect in romance too but I wanted to say that it's not the only thing in love.Love is beyond that too.Its more of emotional experience. And yes you are right ,love can be seen everywhere if you want to.
Physical aspect might bind you for sometime but the love in relationship binds you for the entire life. And in case of Jajo they are together still after the death too.So it's Soulwala love.

Rashmi,
Lovely view and narration. Thank you dear for this piece of work. I was tired of telling Jodha & Jalal can be like this and their love will be viewed from their dedication, care and most of all of sophistication they show towards each other. Their is no need to keep chanting I love you whenever they come across, that looks gross, there was no need to hug and convey that I care for you, that has to be evident from their work. This was very muchtheir in their work.
Jalal loves Jodha, so he know that giving one of her child to Ruqu will hurt her, so he fought with Ruqu and even was ready to bear the insult of "going back on his word" which was the ultimate disgrace for any king. He cared for Jodha, and that was the mere reason, even after she was ready to part with her child, he went and ensured that Ruqu atleast will take good care of Jodha's child. so that Jodha will not blame herself in future for partying with her child. he knew very well that Jodha will never express her disappointment with him. so he had to act by reading her eys and the lines on her forehead. That is the pure love and that is why we love this Jalal.
Jodha loves Jalal, so even though he was ready to face the disgrace, she wanted to remove that black mark from his name which would have gone as a record in history. She only wanted his name to be remembered for his greatness and not for cowardly behavior. She also knew that deep down, Jalal has harboured some feelings for Ruqu, his childhood soulmate who is his first wife and also the ill-fated girl who will never become a mother on her own, if she doesn't help her now, but his love for Jodha had stopped him from asking her to spare a child for Ruqu. If that was not the case (love for Jodha), he would never have suggested Ruqu that he will get her a different child, and will give his name to that. Even then, he would have snatched a child from its mother (unless he planned on some orphan child), so his theory of not separating mother and child was just a hold to stop Ruqu from pesturing for Jodha's child. Hence she decided to give one of her child to Ruqu so that Jalal will live a peaceful life. If not, he would not have been able to stay peacefully and concentrate on his day to day activity as a king. an hungry tigress and an unsatisfied female are always danger like keeping the burning coal in the pullo, which will eventually burn the entire saree and if not sense fast may harm the person as well. So it was not just to satisfy Ruqu's anxiety but also to safe guard the Sultanate, Jodha had decided to part with her baby. If this will not show her love for Jalal, then nothing else can show (even a bot SR scene)
Jodha care for Jalal and that was the precise reason, she had been praying for Maham after reading about the way Maham had saved Jalal's life in numerous occasion. She new Jalal's love for Maham, but he could not take the curse given by Maham to his unborn children, so she decided to do something to ease Maham's heart an dagony and without much argument, Jalal gave in by saying do whatever you feel good at the moment and left the place. deep down, he was crying for hi9s Babi Ammi & his brother, but as a king, as a son and as a husband, he could not tolerate them, hence took drastic step to curb their moves. If Jodha was not caring for Jalal, there wa sno need for her to go to Maham time and again to pacify Maham to have some food & medicine and there was no need for her to lie to Maham about Javeeda's pregnancy.

I request you not to use my thread for mocking derogatory comments against legendary freedom fighters. I have huge respect for Sardar Patel.

With due respect to whatever your views, please make a separate thread to write your pov.

Finally got time and internet connection to post. Preet and nabi...your posts cracked me up, thanks for that. To remain tension free, I just going to stick to present and for now there is no official news regarding leap so not going to think about it.
Now my thoughts on current track of ruks maham and JJ. Most of the time we can easily relate to Jalal because he react or act in a manner which is called normal. And relating to actions and reactions of Jodha is not easy at all because she is very different. It is nothing wrong to be normal and also to be different because it is the majority humans are who have decided it.

First Maham- She is the most deadly villain in JA. She is going to die soon and it is shown she is going to be remorse and will be given a send off not at all befitting for her crimes. Maham might or might not have loved Jalal but the point is Jalal loves Maham genuinely. Just because he is angry and have sidelined her, he just cannot erase the love he had for her from his heart. That is why he will cry for her dead and he himself will take care of her. Now Jodha, one very good character of hers is that she will never take revenge. She will approve punishment but will forgive in her heart. Now Maham has gotten a small portion of punishment for her crimes when Adham died and staying in jail but the remaining punishment will be given by god. She cant escape HIM. But why she is not paying for her deeds in this life itself? Simply because she is weak and not strong enough to withstand impact of karma when is hits. God loves all his children. But does it means that good has not win. A success of a battle between good and bad should not be measured by amount of punishment but rather where are both standing. At the end Maham will bow down to JJ(good). Besides that punishment is not the only way this battle is being fought. Jo's method of giving excessive goodness is also one of it.

Next is Ruks- She is not all black. Actually there is no one absolutely evil. But currently she is running very fast not knowing what she is loosing in the process. Its like the rabbit and tortoise story. JJ might be slow but will definitely going to win. Like the rabbit ruks also going to do some serious blunder thinking that both JJ especially Jodha is soft and all good. But she will not realise that there is a Durga ma in Jo too. Actually her fall has started. She got stuck in farmaan game of Jalal. Her deed in FP is coming back to her. I want her to massage Jo leg.
Now Jo is an open book in terms of her intentions but very mysterious when it comes to what she is feeling. Until now she have not think of the implication of her decision on herself and she will come to that part when all sinks in her. Apart from this separation of baby pain, Jodha is going to face another hurt. That is getting to know that the person that she thought to know actually a stranger. I personally know haw it feels. But it will be interesting to watch how she deals with it.

Okay I have to go to class now...
