(1) Ruqaiyya ... no surprises she is continuing her plan. She has played her cards very well ... She has not mentioned being MUZ even once to anyone ... She has only talked about filling her void as a Mother, even in the DEK.
We hear her evil laughter, her plans, her audha rants ... has Jodha or Jalal seen any of this? After the fake pregnancy track, Jodha and Jalal decided to give her another chance ... we need to accept that.
So, what did Jodha and Jalal see after this second chance : Ruq's being nice to Jodha after the mirchi war, expressing concern that Jodha fought the war while being pregnant, apologizing to Jodha in the Atifa track, and even making halwa for Jodha. Yes, there is a history before before fake pregnancy, but as humans you expect people to learn a lesson ... but little do they know that CVs do not let characters to do that.
So, given this context, what do Jodha-Jalal see ... they see a woman who has close to lost her best friend, does not have any love or emotions in her life, and is looking to fill that void with her husband's child.
(2) Jalal ... no surprises here. He is sympathetic to his best friend ... if he chose to forgive his friend then he has done so wholeheartedly. However, he is still firm that he will not give the child as it is not his decision to make and lashed out against a public defamation yesterday. Till the end , he seemed firm in his point of view
(3) Jodha ... no surprises here. She sees the same Ruquaiyya I described above ...a lonely woman that needs some connection to her husband and family ... and a child would do that. So, no surprise she does so to Ruqaiyya. And I could have bet she would have used the Yashodha-Krishna analogy!
However, I wanted to share a beautiful phrase from Padbear said yesterday on why Jodha's position as a mother is untouchable:
"Jo's motherhood is something untouchable. Even if Ruqs is given a child now, it's Jo who will decide to do it for whatever reason and she will do it from a position of strength, blessing. Mothers have that ability, no one can take that away. She will also have more children after the tragedy. So really she's unassailable."(4) But, what did surprise me today was Salima! I had expected her to relate with Jodha ... but then I zoomed out and it made a lot of sense. She was also a woman alone, with no support, and while Rahim was not her own blood it filled her emotional void. She felt Ruqaiyya was trying to fill the same emotional void. And she doesn't even know about the fake pregnancy!
(5) The irony is ... Jodha , Jalal, Salima understand that a child would fill an emotional void within Ruqaiyya ... except Ruqaiyya who does not know she has an emotional void and thinks she has an audha void!
I don't know why ... the Salima factor really surprised me and I felt like writing a post today.
What else are lunch breaks and conferences for? 😆
So, thoughts? I won't even ask for anything else today😉
