I fully understand and respect ur sentiments. Sometimes I feel the same. When I saw BB pleading with Jalal to stop the punishment, I was zapped. But there is always another side to the coin. I will post a response in detail Tmrw. :)

I think apart from being an epic love story, what make the story of Jodha- Akbar unique is that it has certain 'coming of age' feel to it. And that appeals me tremendously. I am not a die-hard romantic person so if Jodha akbar was any other love story between a king and queen, I would not have shown interest in it. There is no dearth of passionate love stories on Tv today. I have never found them interesting enough.

Here is one male protagonist who goes through a phase of transformation after the female protagonist comes into his life. She showers him with new ideas, help him to look at things differently- basically she becomes the motivation behind Jalal's transformation into the great Akbar. The tagline of the show very clearly indicated that. It was Jalal's journey from "Haivan to Inshan" (/ Janwar se Inshan , I don't remember correctly).So like any other such stories, here also the girl was shown as being almost perfect from beginning. What's wrong with that?

If u look at films like "Laksha" or say "Wake Up Sid" ( I mention these names as these are the coming of age films I can remember now) , the characters of romila dutta or aisha(the female leads) were shown like these only.. they were independent, had a mind of their own, righteous, fearless, everything a woman should be like. They were never shown being wrong.They were also shown giving so-called bhasans to their boyfriends very often in those films.😃 so what's wrong if Jo's character is sketched in the similar line?.What did we expect? How else she could have made Jalal INSHAAN from Haivan? If Jodha wasn't better, how could she change Jalal for the better? and if Jalal's character was flawless from the beginning what was the need for the transformation in the first place?

Jalal with all his flaws has always been a very charming character. When I say that he was flawed in the beginning, I do not say that I did not like him.His character is actually the backbone of the entire story. We all love him that is why we are part of his journey.

I am not saying that Jodha is perfect. No one is perfect as such, she has also done her share of mistakes and she also has her own journey to make . Because this a serial and not a movie and the makers have ample time to show everything they want in detail (I hope so)- they are obviously going to touch her journey too. But again that will be more subtle. So the whole argument over why she was not seen evolving, Why should jalal has to change himself every time for her, I have never seen her changing herself for him etc etc don't make sense to me.

Now the show has reached to a very important juncture where the transformation has already happened. Jalal is now very much an INSAAN,😃 infact he has already received the title Akbar too. They do not have anything to prove to each others. They characters are developed, so its the time for their journey together.

Yes Maddy, exactly.. thats the difference between Jo and Bakshi.. Bakshi instead of stopping her husband from wrong doing.. is defending his actions by keeping quiet and by forgiving him .time and again... Jo has always tried to stop Jalal whenever tries to behave irrationally.. ofcourse there is a bsic difference in jalal and SD also here..Jalal listens to his begums (atleast to Jo and Salima) and I think SD would have never bothered to listen to Bakshi ... he lacks the basic decency whatsoever... and now Bakshi will be more agianst Jo .. she will think Jo is the cause for all this ...
