Wow...You write so beautiful Radikha.
Thanks!!! 😊
Monday's episode
I like JJ's scene a lot. Nowadays they talk and listen to each other and does not hide their inner feelings. Jalal was completely honest with what he felt at that moment to Jodha. And Jodha gave timely advise to him and let him make his decision.
I wish we could have some normal talk too between them and not just when they are agitated. I liked the scene yesterday when they talk about having girls and about names for their babies. I also liked the later scene when Jalal is getting agitated about BB's trauma and cannot understand how Jodha can be so calm. Hope we get some such "normal" scenes more often. 😊
It would have been more nice if they could have shown depressed Jalal turning determined Jalal who leaves past and looks ahead. Now Jodha advising Jalal, I dont fine anything wrong in it. This leaving the throne decision of his only known to her and she talked to him privately too. Further more Jalal is only talking to Jodha. They just one and I cant actually say that she is his shadow but she is much more, his heart, breath and soul.
Nothing in Agra remains between two people only. Everyone knew of Jalal's despondency and his wish to abdicate the throne. When he decides to revert his decision, the other begums come and congratulate Jodha for being able to persuade Jalal to change his mind.
Jalal did turn from depressed to happy and looking ahead in Tuesday's episode. Jodha, being his wife, can advise him when he is feeling low. Normal in my view. 😊
Tuesday episode
This is what I posted in Mansi's threat. Yesterdays episode was a light and a happy one even with crazy ruks stupid plan. After going true that breakdown baksi's babies arrival is like a sunshine for Agra. JJ are back to normal.
I found the episode a bit tedious and insipid, apart from the JJ scenes. There was too much of SD and BB. BB has suddenly changed her views about bhabhijaan. Something unexplainable. 😲 Earlier she used to be rude to Jodha and suspect her of attracting her husband. Now she is showing as if she is concerned for Jodha and doesnt want SD to harm her in any way. Btw, I was very irritated to see SD help Jodha to her feet when she stumbled in BB's room. I wished at the time Jodha would give him a tight slap or at least question him for daring to touch her. After all, she had once even questioned Hakim Mirza for touching her when he was trying to save her from a snake.
Why is Jodha being shown to be so oblivious to SD's attentions and intentions? A woman knows such things by intuition and a woman as intelligent as Jodha would definitely perceive it. Sometimes CVs show the most irritating things. 😡
But even though Jalal was telling Jo about not taking stress, I just can't stop thinking about Atifa track. Better late than never. All their scenes where very nice throughout the epi. They where together when even in the crowd. They seemed inseparable. The happiness on Jalal face when taking the baby and the way Jodha playing with the baby later was worth watching. Bring laddoo, I guess is just an excuse to see the baby. Now there will naming ceremony soon. In Agra, Jashn is equivalent to disaster. So now Jo knows its a girl and she shared it with Salima begum and HB which is good. Lets see what happens.
I feel SD will kill the baby and run away from Agra.
Now Shariff and BB. When viewing them we should keep JJ aside because they are one unique pair whose thinking is beyond their era. The thing is man blames the woman for giving birth to girl baby but the truth is man are solely responsible in determining the gender of the child. Unfortunately there is no genetic studies those days but this issue does happens even today in some corner of world. The believe that boys are superior to girl is not something new. Shariff is a man who does not respect woman, thinks they are just commodity who satisfy his needs. He married only to be part of royal family and gain power by hook or crook. Him biting BB just before delivery and demanding for son must have terrified BB. What if she have said that i is a girl. Shariff with no heart may have killed the baby the very moment before anyone can do anything. So out of fear she lied. But she should not carried on, at least should have told the truth to HB, her mother. BB if a person who is not evil or think bad but the problem is she does not think at all. She only follows. She is selfish. She is does not have any self esteem or confidence in her to even to think that her thoughts is right. She is so used to it of being unhappy and never bothered to make effort to be happy.
I hated this part of the episode. I know this is a 16th century show. But the anti-woman sentiment that pops up its head from time to time is disgusting. And disturbing because many of these sentiments still persist almost 5 centuries later. 😕
I don't understand why BB puts up with SD's aggression. She can have him put in place by showing her authority through her link with the Shahenshah. She should pluck up courage and tell her husband that if he doesn't mend his ways, she would report him to her brother and that would be the end of his story. Women bring on troubles upon themselves by holding on to notions like they cannot live without their husbands even if those husbands will be the death of them someday.
You are right that she is used to being unhappy. Such people remain so even when they have no apparent reason to be unhappy. I don't know if she is selfish - true, she cannot think beyond her own survival and feels her survival is linked to being with SD. But it may also be her lack of self-confidence that makes her cling to SD.
Sometimes i dont understand how can Agra inmates live under one roof but as strangers. Only HB, Salima and Jo are only people who seems to be living in a family. Others are like guest in hotel.
That's how royal families used to be. Even today, in joint families, the individual units live together yet emotionally disconnected with each other.
Now regarding gender discrimination, I read a book, a biography of Saudi princess, title Princess written by Jean Sasson. This book gives an inside view on the emotions of woman in great detail.
Are you from the Middle East? Sasson has written about middle eastern women in her books, especially the Princess series, though her background (American) is totally different. If a western woman can understand what women in Asian cultures go through, then we should be able to understand the female characters in JA better.
Ruks emotions also can some how be understandable.
I have always maintained that it is natural for Ruq to feel jealous of Jodha for the deep relationship she shares with Jalal and now, for expecting babies, while she herself can hope for neither. But the problem is how she reacts to those feelings of jealousy. It is simply not done to be vindictive towards someone else just because they have something we don't have. Each person receives only that which is their share of destiny - nothing more, nothing less.
Possibility of Baksi switching baby is nil. And I think Baksi loves her child very much. I want to see at least a little strong Baksi due to her love for her child. I want her to think of her child's well being even if she wants to hate Jodha, I done mind coz Jalal is there with Jodha and that is the only thing Jodha wants.
Every relationship has its own value. Just because Jodha has Jalal doesn't mean that others can hate her without reason. BB has no reason to hate her. If at all, she should take her husband to task for having lecherous intentions against her sister-in-law and the queen of the land. And she should stand up to him for abusing her and not wanting a girl child.
Coming to Ruks, she is crazy like split personality. What trigger her insanity is the word MUZ. This word should be banned around ruks earshot.
Ruq is the kind of upwardly mobile person who always wants what the Joneses (here Jodha) have. If Jodha has Jalal, Ruq wants him. If Jodha has kids, Ruq wants them. If Jodha has the MUZ title, Ruq wants it. Only she can put a lid on her excessive competitive spirit.
Its clear that she wants to share the twin children. But does ruks have the patients to wait until delivery of the babies to ask her wish. Does she have the brain to think what if the children are girls coz in Agra when one is pregnant it is assumed that it is waris, male.
Even now, many people assume if a woman is pregnant, she is going to have a son. 😕
Only JJ are exception. She is short sighted person. Her plans always have jumbo size loopholes. I want Jalal to realise the intention of Ruks when she make the wish and she can be easily tricked too. I dont want Jalal act majboor or Jodha all sad but gives the child away. Let him out smart ruks. I dont like this baby being separated from mother when we know how responsible is Ruks or anyone in Agra.
If at all Ruq is given a child, then you can bet JJ will be shown to happily accommodate her in this request.
Another question is how can maham kill the babies being in jail? she needs outside and a perfect partner would be Ruks. Will Shariff join in too? We viewers going to be tortured by this mentally imbalanced people of Agra paagalkhana.
See my answer to Sindhu. 😊 SD, I feel, will kill his daughter and flee. But Ruqs may try to harm Jodha, even if she doesn't harm the kids knowingly because they are Jalal's kids.
Purani, I understand your sentiments but please let's not stoop to name calling.
