Beautiful and moving, and extremely compassionate Divya. I loved every bit of it, though I do not really see how one can separate the badshahat from the throne. It is an artificial and invalid distinction.

My own take is not so gentle on Jalal, perhaps because I love him like a son and I do not like to see my son weeping and lamenting like a Devdas, without a care to his one vital responsibility, to his people. This has, as I have pointed out in my episode analysis post on this thread, become something of a habit with him of late. And it is not something that should be glossed over.

Guys, I am sorry my last message on Friday was cryptic ... It took some time and multiple PMs and reading your posts, to articulate my thoughts in a coherent way. And am traveling so cannot respond to posts individually.

As I read all your posts on Friday, I was touched by how everyone tried to cheer me up on the episode. Did I not get the most positive side of all of you! I am touched by all the posts outlining the positives of yesterday's episode and love you all for it.

But, guys, I was not dejected as you all thought ... I have just realized tv serials need to be watched in a different way than my Take 5 approach.

A note on the beautiful cradling of Jodha of Jalal ... My chella Pattu (Padbear) has described it so well ... I do not need to go further.

First and foremost, I loved the Jodha-Jalal hug in the end ... It was the moment we all wanted to see with Jodha showing her unconditional support to Jalal and declaring come what may they will always be together.

It was a classic example of the lotus in the mud ...

But, yesterday, for the first time, I found that in processing all the mud through my daily takes ... I could no longer enjoy the lotus.

And hence, here is the background of what drove my sentiments.

If you grieve thus for any one
Many will be inclined to die.

That was the closing line of the Akbarnama on Atgah Khan's death and the punishment of Adham Khan and it captured my attention. As this was the poignant episode in Jalal's life where he grieved for those loyal to him and made a strong statement that he would not only grieve but also vehemently protect and respect those loyal to him ... Even above personal relations.

Perhaps, it is my fault ... After Wednesday's episode , the CVs captured my attention as I felt they were capturing history in its essence ... On Thursday I felt a slight drop as they deviated from history to show Maham Anga's histronics, and then on Friday the CVs lost me completely.

Injustice to justice

My issue with the curse is not that I don't believe in curses nor do I feel Jodha-Jalal are not capable of rising above the pain the curse will given them. I always knew the death of the twins would be a bonding force that would take the Jodha-Jalal relationship to the next level of maturity ... This would have happened with or without the curse as it was Destiny. Destiny decrees disagreeable events to strengthen people.

My issue is with Maham Anga's appeal to God to give justice via the curse ... And hence its coming true (whether by coincidence or not) , is saying this was justice for what Jalal did to Adham. And that to me is injustice to justice!

I can see the CVs address this in one way ... Which is if they get Salim Chisti to come in after the death of the twins and explain why this is not because of the Curse or justice because of Destiny's wish to see them as stronger people (CVs are you listening, I am giving you a way out of this mess you are creating)

And I am not sure, why the CVs have changed this track from how far Jalal went to do justice for Atgah to a question of whether Jalal was too cruel. It started with Jodha Thursday more focused on Jalal's cruelty than the pain which drove it initially.

And with the curse, the same question came into Jalal's mind. And my issue is, Jalal is questioning at the tarazu whether he did justice ... And then how could he get cursed. Instead of grieving, focusing on how to protect his loved ones, etc. , he is in two minds on whether he did justice and having a doubt that he may be punished for it!

And I know what you mean Shraddha,I just cannot count the times he referred to Atgah Khan instead of the curse or whether he did justice ... It is like saying adding a drop of karela to kheer, did not bitter the beautiful kheer of sadness, grievance, and respect for losing Atgah Khan.

The tarazu scene had such beautiful potential ... It was referred to in the Akbarnama as the following:

Then he gives him the priceless jewel of justice, so that he can place the familiar friend and the stranger in the same balance and can comprehend the affairs of creation's workshop (the world) without being weighted by personal considerations, and can establish a school of instruction within his holy soul.

This was supposed to be his journey within the tarazu ... Not worry whether he did justice or the curse will come into play!

Jalal's outburst ... You can take the throne and crown away but can you change the man himself?

And then there was Jalal's outburst to his throne. Rajat shone brilliantly in this scene showing his angst, pain, and frustrations.

And till he set the throne afire and Jodha entered the scene, I agreed with most of what he said. People were only seeing his throne and his power and because of they were attacking him and those around him.

I also agree with his pain that nobody was loving him for the Man that he was.

I also agree that he should hate his throne and taaj ... As that is what people see and not HIM.

But an essential part of HIM is being the broad-hearted, just ruler he is ... And the issue is people see his power as his throne and taaj and not the person he is that makes him capable and destined to rule.

Hence, I agree when he said he wants to get rid of the throne and the taaj ... It reminded me of the moment when Jodha told him on their birthday escapades ... That a ruler who is known by his crown and sword is only feared ... A true ruler is known by his heart and what he does for his awaam.

So, yes I loved it when he said he did not want the throne, I loved it when he said he did not want his crown, but I was lost it when he said he did not want his baadshahat.

As you can take the throne and crown away from a man, but how can you take away the just, people-loving leader away from a man?

My heart went out to the awaam who lived Jalal so much they gave him the title Akbar.

In the Mirchi war, my issue was not with him believing Nigaar ... It was his not going to war against Nigar because she was his sister ... Again, the awaam went for a toss for personal considerations. and again it did.

I personally have a significant issue when people try to discard their responsibility ... His calling is to rule. He can cry it is painful, he can ask for God's guidance on how he can travel on it, but I felt trying to discard the responsibility went against Jalal's character.

And especially out of fear of being lonely, where the final impetus was a curse that should not have existed.

And yes as someone in so much pain, perhaps, you can be a bit over-dramatic in your words ... But again ... To me Jalal the Man, is incomplete without his love for justice and his people ... There is a difference between, how can I rule but not be lonely vs. I will not rule because I do not want to be lonely. and the CVs leaned towards the latter.

AJSharma who doesn't come to the forum much these days once told me - how can you take out the ruler from Jalal, it is like separating the shadow from the person. And I could not agree more.

Hence, his outburst that he did not want to rule ... Is the only piece that threw me off as it was completely against his character. And Shyamala Periamma, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this and I am sure you will articulate it much better.

Jodha, reaches destination without a journey

And now coming to Jodha ... She was beautiful and everything I wanted her to be in the final way she cradled Jalal and told him that she loved only HIM and would always be there for him.

This was the Jodha I always wanted.

But, I wasn't sure if I ever saw the journey of how she got there.
I always wanted to see Jodha's journey to this point and suddenly I found it a disconnect with the Jodha I saw up in the recent moments ...

- Everyone knows I was upset with Jodha from the day before ... Okay she was scared of Jalal ... But did they show a minute reflecting on his pain vs. assessing the cruelty of his act? What was he so hurt by?
- When she sees him burn the throne ... Her first reaction- What did you do? This is a bad thing for the Mughal Sultanate to burn the throne.

And then when Jalal outpours the pain in his heart, came one of the most beautiful scenes of the serial ever, she provides beautiful emotional support of loving him for the MAN he was and not his throne and crown or him being a Shehenshah. And loved the way she held him in a protective hug.

This was the Jodha I always wanted to see ... But, the CVs never showed is her journey to that point. Yesterday I said she will get there, and suddenly she got there.

And that is when I realized that that is where my daily view of the serial was wrong- our emotions do not follow a steady journey, they are an erratic journey. And I found myself unable to enjoy the highpoints as I cannot see the bridge with the low points. One day I am questioning Jodha and on the very next day loving her.

Hence, my realization ...

I finally zoomed out and realized on a tv serial it is not the daily bumps that matter but the milestones here and there. The hug was all that mattered, not the bumps along the way that I have outlined above.

I envy the writers on this forum who zoom in only on the lotus and when the show is murky zoom out to the big picture, stay back, and wait for the next milestone ... When the journey itself may be ad hoc.

And that is why I am going to take a break from daily take 5 ... It is not because I do not have hope for the future- do I not think Jodha-Jalal are going to survive every challenge and emerge victorious in their love? of course, I do!

But, that does not mean that some days there can't be lows ... And that indeed is why my Take 5 approach is flawed.

Even in my life, I cannot say every day is beautiful ... But the overall journey and destination is beautiful and that is what keeps you going.

So, I wanted to make sure folks understood and not be disheartened that I had no hope for the future. But rather, it was because I finally realized was it was more important to to enjoy the journey and destination instead of analyzing (or even cheering) every bump along the way.

And that is how the CVs write this show as well ... They are not looking for a consistent trajectory of emotions or consistency ... They just know their destination in the end of the day is Jodha-Jalal's love emerged victorious over all. Some days their dialogues are off ... Sometimes their take on history ... But the milestones are all that matter.

Hope and positivity never comes from take 5s ... It comes from the belief that Jodha-Jalal were soulmates that would emerge victorious amidst the challenges of history. That is truly what keeps us watching the show and always will!

Now, if you read my note from Friday you will read it in a very different way.

Not sure if this makes sense ... But it is from the heart.

Divy your heart felt words for Jalal reflect how much you want Ekta's Jalal to be like he was in the Akbarnama. He establishing a school of instruction within his holy soul describes a man who has great self control and even greater wisdom. I would say that such wisdom and sagacity is not something we are born with. It comes after some soul searching and looking outside of ourselves for some inspiration. I think his spiritual quest was for this and he found some answers and it gave him vision.

Jodha's journey is, as we discussed, a see saw, a stop and start and all the rest of it. But, I can't expect her to now be his dutiful and virtuous companion without spot or wrinkle here on end... just because of one good moment when she understood exactly what was needed and gave it. That would also be unreasonable on my part.

the curse has too many tentacles reaching into every area of the story now. That's how I see it. But if J and J, either individually or together decide to pay no heed to it, then that will be a good thing.

Divya, agree whatever you said.
Maybe this is the reason, am from a die hard fan, I am in and out of Jodha-Akabr now. I feel there is no consistency. The whole track will say something and one episode pulls me back to it.
Well, i should say, its RT's awesome performance i am devoted to.
Coming to last 2 episodes,
1. Curse - I just cant put it out of mid as we all know the twins will die. Why bring drama and prove curses are true. Well it might be, but not from a person who is so evil. I am sure they will drag this curse track and hoep it doesnt get bad.
2. Jalal saying he dont want his Badshahat. I completely agree what you are saying.. what about awaam. I was very upset with Jalal during Sujamal track because Jalal left everything and went behind Jodha. He didnt care about his kingdom, his awaam. There was fear of enemies attacking but he left everything for one women. I understand she is his love and soulmate, but isnt he equally responsible for his awaam. I dont agree and nothing can justify he going behind Jodha leaving everything.
3. In current situation, when he says he dont want his Badshahat, not sure if this is right comparision - How many times did Dritrastra say he didnt wanted the kingdom. Didnt he choose his borthers happiness over the people. Its in the end Krishna convinced for war, else they didnt wanted war right. Not highlighting war, but he too didnt think about people there.
4. Jodha - Though i liked the Jodha in Friday's episode. But i dont understand her character. Maybe her journey is not shown properly like we get to see Jalal's jpurney. I always gets confused with her reactions.
I dont like Jodha forgiving eveyone always. This cannot be true for a Queen. Looks like, She even wanted to save AK from punishment. She was the one who wanted to get Jalal head and place it under maa durga. So why not same punishement for others. I really dont like the way they have depicted/shown Jodha in this serial. this character is just not consistent. Apart from her journet from hatred to Love towards Jalal, her character has not grown. Its just there...

Aunty, I knew you would articulate it better than me ... But we are saying the same thing.

Perhaps, with one slight nuance ... That he is entitled to have pain ... But to escape the pain one cannot give up his duty. The question should have been- how do I fulfill my duty with this pain (the answer is with the support and love of Jodha and others) instead of I can't deal with this pain and hence I will run away. And you are right, this Jalal runs away much too much

And I think my throne / crown point is perhaps a more poetic distinction ... Every ruler comes with the throne / crown ... It comes via lineage ... Great rulers are because of their leadership, vision, and love for their people- and that comes from the person sitting on the throne and with the crown on his head ... Not because of the throne / crown being there

People like MA,Adham think he leads only because of the crown / throne ... But fail to see as a person what an amazing leader he is ...

I truly hope that is the case and the CVs do exactly that

I wont force u as I understand your mental state but I'd request u to give a second thought.

lots of love meri behena...🤗❤️

Thanks so much Tamy! You know, I could have just left the takes saying I was busy ... But I felt I wanted a platform to share my true sentiments ... I hope it is okay.

I feel bad that so many people associate positivity on the forum with me ... But that is not the case

What made every episode beautiful Tamy? It was the knowledge that Jodha-Jalal would always emerge victorious. You just needed to wait it out.

and is there something wrong with not wanting his destiny? It can seem too demanding, too daunting to him. Moments of such doubt are maybe even more profound for someone with huge responsibilities. One man. One man cannot just question his destiny and then stoically accept it, he does need some help and that's supposed to be Jodha.

BUT, the way this story has unfolded, Jalal does look like he is more lost than ever and needs a tighter script. Jodha was only putting her finger in a leaking dam which can burst all barriers at any moment. Scary for her. 😆 Shyamala Akka was correct on all her points because she put it in context.
