I normally ignore Mamanga, but today the scene between Mamaga and Jodha, I could not Ignore because I loved the way Jodha gave back to Mamanga. What performance by Paridhi..

Abhay, u excelled in all your previous posts! this time, u went beyond excellence!

u took me to a different world with your words...I could feel all the emotions which u went through while writing this, I could feel all the emotions of JJ.

The blue part is something I like to memorize...how thoughtful, how insightful, u need a poetic heart to understand it.❤️
I thought Jodha ws reciting some mantra which Hindus do during funeral, never imagined it was all for Jalal...her soul was talking to his torn soul to sooth it, to give it solace.

hats off to u dost!👏

your each and every word echoed by Jodha today...come may what, JJ will always be together like each other's shadow, not even death can separate them.❤️
when these two pure souls r together as ONE soul, I dont need anything...I dont need anything.

Thanks Tamy..But so much praise is something which i don't deserve..
Yes, that "Shlok" is recited at the time when Jiva(Soul) Departs from Deh(Body) in this Bhulok(Earth)..
But the AIM is to Relieve someone's heart from immense grief...
There are approx. 6 more such "Shloks" in Gita..

I found great relief that finally, i was witnessing Jodha-Akbar, as i wanted...
The Jodha, which i concluded from my readings and desperately wanted to be an Emotional Anchor to her husband.!!.

Your lines in bold remind me of Socrates...He says -- "All souls are immortal, but the souls of the righteous are immortal and divine." We all have it, but divinity is a RARE phenomena...And, Creatives explored that dimesion at it's best this week, in context of Jo-Ja..

Beautiful write up Abhay...as always...👏

I loved the last JJ scene yesterday, when Jalal almost loses his self control...& Jo comes n beautifully provides him emotional support...

But I don't know how far I can agree with your interpretation of Jo's recital for the noble Atgah's departed soul...

1)almost every single person present for the noble Atgah's final goodbye was grieving...including Jalal, Jiji Anga, HB, everybody...
If one were to take the shlok as a condolence, it was meant to be a condolence for all who were physically present there....which I think it was...

2)I interpret the shlok's recital as thus:
It was recited in glory of the fiercely brave & loyal Atgah...that though Atgah's body is slain, his soul isn't...this pure soul is eternal...

3) Jalal needed to cry bitterly for his bereavement, which he did, first in the bathtub, & then on actually seeing Atgah Sahab's body for the first time since his death...both the times, Jo let him be by himself....if at all her soul needed to connect with Jalal's, I would think it would have to be the first time rather than the second time...

4)when cvs want to show the soul connect between JJ during their lifetime, they do it a way that it is CLEAR to the audience...like in Ben track, when Jalal goes to get her back from heaven's doorstep... No other form of communication with Jo was possible then...hence there was a soul connect between the two....

5) Infact, even their soul talk after 400+ years of their death is shown with their maqbara being shown as site for soul talk...else it causes confusion to the viewer...

This is purely my interpretation of Jo's recital of the shlok...you may of course, agree to disagree, Abhay...😊

Great to see your beautiful and touching post, Abhay! 👏

I just LOVED Akdha scene. It had raw emotions, passion, compassion, care, concern, love, support and everything. Actually, I cried witnessing their love- esp. to c how Jodha's declaration of support and love to Jalal. It was Jalal who professed love beautifully before SR and today ti was Jodha. I usually don't get emotional easily unless it's very sad or emotional. So, I was suprised mysel today. If I remember correctly, last time I cried was during confrontation at end of sujamal track and astral scene of Akdha when Jo was unconscious after Ben track.

When I was watching today's scene of Akdha, it reminded me of real Akbar-HK and the info that I have read in your historical threads especially when Jodha says she will be will him even if parents, friends or children are not with them. It reminded me of something about HK supporting Akbar when Salim rebelled which I have read somewhere (I don't know if it was in your thread or somewhere else, correct me if I am wrong). I hope CVS maintain these kind of scenes between Akdha and show all aspects of their relationship: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual.

I just loved how Jodha gave it back to MA at the end and said that as Mughal begum, she will give an heir to Mughal Saltanat and assure that it flourishes. How far she has come just like Jalal from hatred to this kind of devoted, passionate, emotional, spiritual love.

I really wished I could go back in time and witness real Akbar-HK's love and their lives' journey. Fortunate are the ones who witnessed it and blessed are the ones who have or had this kind of love.

The Curse of Mahamanga

I was fascinated to see Mahamanga move from humble pleading to Jalal to be allowed to see her son to cursing him vindictively a few moments later. Jalal was repulsed to see the abyss to which she could fall once the veil of chastity was blown off by the winds of the defeat of her ambition. Words failed him as he felt each epithet pierce his heart and wrench his soul.

He was struggling to come to terms with the reality of this woman he had regarded as next only to God. He had worshipped her with an abundance of love and Respect. He had probably not given back to anyone including Hamida or Jodha so far, as much as he gave Mahamanga in terms of power, authority, status, trust and bonding.

It may be that one cannot repay the price of milk, or the responsibility and
Protection, the nurture and love showered by a mother in one's childhood. But it is equally true that a mother looks only to be repaid in love and respect and does not expect, let alone demand, the son to repay her in Materialistic terms.

The minute a woman puts a price tag on the care she gave a child, she ceases to be a mother and becomes a paid servant. She can then no longer expect anything in terms of love or respect from the child but must resign herself to remain at his beck and call.

Mahamanga then is clearly torn between her worldly ambitions and her desire for Jalal to remain tied to her apron strings forever.

She is also, for the first time, forced to acknowledge publicly that she had always loved Adham more than Jalal. It's life great irony that the woman who had always treated justice with contempt and taken law lightly and taught Jalal too that he was above all laws should today question Jalal's sense of justice for killing her son without a fair trial.

In her grief, she has not only forgotten what Jalal has done for her and her son, but also the number of times he has overlooked their transgressions out of a sense of filial duty.

Is she right or wrong in cursing Jalal?

The question of being Right does not arise as no one can support her cause - seeking to avenge the death of her son - by making the Shahenshah pay for it.

How will it affect Jalal - Jodha?

Destiny cannot be changed. The twins are destined to die and so they will. Will they die because of the curse? No...

Mahamanga is only a tool God used to foretell Jalal something. At the moment Jalal is embittered with Mahamanga. But when he cools down, he will realize over time that he had provoked the Almighty by his crimes against those he had fought wars with. And he has to pay the price for that.

Later, Jalal will realize his own mistakes, and will undertake a pilgrimage to Salim Chisti Sahab and atone for his sins. And only then will he be blessed with not one but three sons.

I do not take Mahamanga's curse seriously because it is the rant of a woman slipping into hysteria. True, negative energy from others can drain us of our life force and vitality but it can never be stronger than our own determination and courage.

It is in this light that I see Jodha's pronouncement that She will ensure that the Mughal empire gets a heir and the Mughal flag always flies high. Jodha is the steel that will strengthen Jalal's determination at every step.

She not only will attract the blessings of the awaam for Jalal but also stand like a shield in front of Jalal and repel all curses.

Mahamanga may rave and rant, ultimately the Righteous win and that is a universal truth.

I am beyond speechless
I have been a silent reader for so many years..but i couldnt control myself on reading this post!! Hats off to you history_geek..That thread dealt with HIM , who had suffered excruciating moments,
who kept losing HIS near ones, viz. HIS father ; HIS regent; HIS Ataliq ; and now suffering from
the BETRAYAL of HIS Foster Mother ; and the extremely diabolic act of HIS
Foster Brother.. Almighty Destined HIM to be THE Shahenshah of this LAND, but
in return gave HIM intense pain...HE stood tall amidst ALL Adversities, because HE
had HIS 2 pillars Intact, viz. HIS Regent and HIS Foster Mother... But FATE
made BOTH of them go against HIM...The Universe has a Strange yet BASIC Rule,
that everything which LOST comes back to you in another Form. In HIS Regent and
HIS Foster Mother, HE lost HIS emotional and political edifice. The political LOSS
has been accounted for slowly, but the Emotional one takes time to Heal the
Heart. The Journey of Healing HAD Already Started, and the seeds were sown at
Sambhar.
</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">I had talked about those TWO beings , who will transcend barriers
of ALL kinds and ultimately culminate into a Single Entity - an entity which has
the potential to change the history of Hindustan - an entity which evolves
after merging of soul/mind/heart/body - and FINALLY , an entity which REFUSES to
distinguish between THE Self and THE Other , thereby Unshackling the Eternal Saga,
registered in the annals of TIME, which nourished THE Land called Hindustan ...
Here, the process of Evolution was the defining period, for evolution is a
tightly coupled DANCE, where LIFE and MATERIALISTIC Environment are the ONLY participants...The
one who rises above BOTH emerges the VICTOR...Jodha and Akbar are the names registered
in thatbook of Victors..</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">In that thread, I had expressed GREAT faith on the Creatives
of Jodha Akbar...Fortunately, till now, it is on expected LINES...There I had
written about the expectations from the Creatives, and HERE I want to THANK
them for Proceeding in the Right Direction..How.?. Read on, and you will come
to know...</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">The Legends (and their Legendary Story) are being brought
ALIVE on our screens... The SCRIPTS were Written by THE PAST...The INK was LENDED
by THE UNIVERSE...The DIRECTION was by THE DIVINE itself...The PROFITS were reaped
by THEIR HINDUSTAN... The MOVIE was witnessed by THE LUCKIEST People...The NUANCES
are DISCUSSED at PRESENT...AND...The SAGA will be SUNG by THE FUTURE...</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Friends, </font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Here, I am going to talk about the DEFINING stage where the relationship
of Jodha and Akbar has reached...Till now, we had seen both of them expecting
something from each other. Like - Jalal expected Jodha to understand his PLAN in
the recently concluded Atifa track and have faith that he still Loves her ; and
Jodha expected Jalal to read the pain and devotion in her Eyes that she is PURE
and Loyal to him in the Sujamal track...Both of them expected a LOT, but they
never got the Desired Result/Reciprocation SIMULTANEOUSLY... </font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">But, yesterday, we saw something Different...Let me proceed step
by step...Jalal KNEW whom he can share his grief with, at the moment when the
Entire World appeared Barren to HIS Soul...The MAN had Just returned back to his human
form' after the gruesome punishment to his Foster Brother...Few Days back he had LOST'
his Foster Mother , and today his MOST Aziz' Foster Father. The scene shifts
to Jodha's Hojra where Jalal enters like a Lifeless Body, unknown of the fact
that he is drenched in the Blood of his Brother, and his face Barely clear...And,
Jodha is seen as NUMB after watching her husband lending justice' in the most
gruesome manner...He touched her...She repelled...He went further...She went back...Jalal
was NOT able to Figure Out the Reaction of his wife momentarily, until he
HIMself saw his Face in the Mirror...And, went Back, to wash away his act'. Just
as Jalal "STARTED" to "MOVE AWAY", Jodha was taken off From her state of "Fear /
Un-consciousness Self-Denial", and she realized that "HE" came to "HER" to
share "HIS" Grief, and "SHE" has to be "HIS" Strength... Friends, here
I would add another dimension - Courage, which I could sense in Jodha...Rumi
puts it as follows- "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the
judgment that something else is more important than fear." And that moment,
Jodha's Judgement about Jalal Prevailed over ANYTHING which was present in HER.</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Till now, I could figure out, 2 things...One - Despite being
in a state of Losing Himself Jalal knew who CAN be his "Matrix" , and went to
Jodha ... Two - The momentary RE-Treat of HER Husband was ENOUGH to BREAK her
State of "Un-consciousness/Fear/Sefl-Denial" , and within a fraction of second
she gauged that SHE has to BE HIS Strength, in such a time...She followed him
to the Hamam, and ALLOWED Him to pour out what all was accumulated inside...At
such times, it is better to leave the individual ALONE...And, she did the right
thing thence...Thereafter, she was with HIM THROUGHOUT, and followed him as his
Shadow wherever he WENT...The scene where Maham asks for permission' to meet
Adham kneeling down - was so much Heart BREAKING for Jalal, to explain which, I
do not possess the audacity...At such a time, HER HAND on HIS Shoulder was a Ray
of Solace, consoling HIM and assuring HIM that SHE is there with HIM, and he
need NOT feel ALONE... In short, these 2 people were an "ODE to Each Other"... </font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">The Defining MOMENT was the scene where Jalal mourns at the
corpse of the Noble Atgah...He weeps bitterly...Here, Jalal got HIS answer...
Though, in his conscious state he May NOT know IT, But HIS Soul Got the Answer
From Jodha's Soul...The Sanskrit "Shlok" which Jodha recited is as follows --</font>

<p align="center"><font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Na Jayate mriyate
va kadachin Nayam Bhuthva bhavitha na bhoyah: |

Ajo Nithyah sasvato yam purano na hanyate hanyamane sarere ||
</font></p>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">In English, this means --</font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">"Neither HE is born, nor does HE die at any time; HE
has never been brought into being, nor shall come hereafter - unborn, eternal,
permanent and primeval . When the body is slain, HE is not slain." </font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Here, "HE" refers to the SOUL...</font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">How many of you noticed this.?. This Sanskrit Shlok is from the
English Translation of The Holy Scripture Shrimada Bhagwada Gita, and is
recited , in order to console someone's heart when that person is in the MOST SAD
MOMENTS of his Life.. I could clearly see Jalal weeping bitterly at the moment.</font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">I remember, Jalal came
to Jodha in her Hojra, but she could not offer INSTANT support , but She did
THE BEST BY by "Evoking a Divine Power through this Shloka" . It was an AWESOME
and AMAZING piece delivered to us in that Episode, and the Creatives deserve a
BOW for this.. I wish they had given a minor explanation for this..Anyways, I do
not know, how many of us noticed this, but this PART of the Episode Made the
Jodha - Akbar's Journey on a Different Path, that is ready to put itself on
Spiritual Lines.!!.</font>

<font color="#0000FF" face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">The Physical Union has taken place and the Spritual Union of
their Souls, is something I wish for, and wish we keep getting such ideas..!!!..
</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Finally, today's Episode also, brought forth the SAME
Conclusion that, Despite any hardships and any adversity in life, Jodha and
Akbar will be each other's companion, and I am so happy that the Creatives are
giving a Spiritual Dimension to their relation...</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">Hence, the title of my Post - Jalal questioned Jodha(His
Shadow), but she answered from (by evoking the Divine) Soul(later).</font>

<font face="Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif">PS --- Stay tuned to Jodha - Akbar..Lots of High-Intensity /

Nice Post Radhika...
I also wanted to write some points on Maham's Curse...More or less they are same..

1
. TO me it was a rant of a lady who was grieving and saying what she ALWAYS wanted...Yesterday, she was speaking the truth...Her Heart Out...!!!

2. I mean to say, she was saying the truth in a sense...It was not a curse..."Jo baatein Zehen Mein Dafn thi Saalon se Kal Woh Intekaam ki Khwaish Sailaab ke saath Bahar Nikal Aayi ".

3
. It was a sort of frustration...Which is normally shown by psychopaths...At one moment, they are in ANOTHER World, and the next moment they are found doing something ELSE...They themselves, do not know, what is the Method to Achieve their Objective..!!!!.. She wants the throne but does not wants to kill Jalal...She says she Loves Jalal and does not wants him to be in any "MUshKilaat" But she herself Killed her Kids...What is this.?.😕

4
. She always wanted to kill Jalal's Kids and she DID it several times, because she DID NOT want any heir to survive as she always wanted to secure it for his REAL son Adham...

5
. There are times when Human Speaks truth when he/she loses everything...It was one such moment yesterday...

6
. She is NO SAINT like Gandhari or Mira that she whatever she says comes out to be true..One needs some "Punya" to attain that power to Invoke the Divine Master and curse someone..I doubt, she has even an iota of that..😉

7. It was a ridiculous attempt by the CV's to raise the Emotional Quotient of the Viewers..😉

8
. She asked why Adham was killed.?. But, DID SHE EVER asked What her SON kept on Doing for All these years.?. 😳 Did she Forget that it was jalal who had forgiven her son so many times...BTW, Even today, Jalal does not know who killed Pir Mohammed..!!!!!!..

9. Like you, I also do not give any weight to the "Theory of Curse" , for J-J have Divine Blessings with them, and Blessings of a Sufi (as you said, Salim Chisti Sahab) are BIGGER then any Curse...!!!..
