Beautiful write up Abhay...as always...👏
I loved the last JJ scene yesterday, when Jalal almost loses his self control...& Jo comes n beautifully provides him emotional support...
But I don't know how far I can agree with your interpretation of Jo's recital for the noble Atgah's departed soul...
1)almost every single person present for the noble Atgah's final goodbye was grieving...including Jalal, Jiji Anga, HB, everybody...
If one were to take the shlok as a condolence, it was meant to be a condolence for all who were physically present there....which I think it was...
2)I interpret the shlok's recital as thus:
It was recited in glory of the fiercely brave & loyal Atgah...that though Atgah's body is slain, his soul isn't...this pure soul is eternal...
3) Jalal needed to cry bitterly for his bereavement, which he did, first in the bathtub, & then on actually seeing Atgah Sahab's body for the first time since his death...both the times, Jo let him be by himself....if at all her soul needed to connect with Jalal's, I would think it would have to be the first time rather than the second time...
4)when cvs want to show the soul connect between JJ during their lifetime, they do it a way that it is CLEAR to the audience...like in Ben track, when Jalal goes to get her back from heaven's doorstep... No other form of communication with Jo was possible then...hence there was a soul connect between the two....
5) Infact, even their soul talk after 400+ years of their death is shown with their maqbara being shown as site for soul talk...else it causes confusion to the viewer...
This is purely my interpretation of Jo's recital of the shlok...you may of course, agree to disagree, Abhay...😊
Nice to hear from you Khushi...I agree with you that the J-J scenes were very well Done..
Though, on other aspects, this time we shall Disagree...😊.!!.
I divide my answer in 2 parts,
1. Based on my Interpretation...
I wrote in my main post why Jodha needed Jalal to be by HIMSELF, in the Bath-Tub...There are times when Human needs to Pour Out his/her held up agony ALONE...That time, it is better to leave him alone..She did the same...In the Hamam, she had seen that, Jalal is in so much despair...She got to know his state of mind...She did not move away...Kept her eyes fixed on him...In a way,
she was with him..Kept watching him...
Next, In the scene where MA comes to ask Jalal's permission to meet Adham, there also, while
all the ladies(Hamida, Salima, Ruqs, etc.) were
present before only,
BUT Jodha came along with Jalal...
She entered the scene with HER husband...When Jalal granted her(MA) permission to meet Adham, that time also,
HER Hand on HIS Shoulder was a support to him...She DID this because SHE knew HIS State of MIND...
Till now, in all these scenes Jodha was with Jalal...The MAN was NOT Alone...He had HIS "
OTHER HALF" along with HIM...As many have said before, His
Ardhangini was present with him to Share his Grief...
In
Last Scene ALSO, while mourning Atga,
again, all the menfolk and ladies were
present BEFORE JJ entered...We had Ruqs, Hamida, Salima, Jiji, Nigar, Ruksar, etc. , all people were present before them...BTW, the weeping Jiji Anga was removed from the place before JJ arrived...
Also, notice that ,
AGAIN Jodha and Jalal came in the SCENE Together...
Jodha came from BEHIND the Curtain and Jalal came from the FRONT...We were being
constantly shown that Jodha was Looking NOT at the ladies but where Jalal was standing...!!!!...
Even as you thought, that she read the Shlok for all, then any prayer, if done for ALL the Family Members, or for a single individual NEVER LESSENS it's Utility / Piousness.!!!.. Infact, this angle can be used to conclude that, she has accepted Mughal Sultanate whole-heartedly as her home...She invoked her "
Ishth" to come to rescue...And, her Resolve Before Maham Anga in the prison was on similar lines...That she will GIVE the HEIR to this Sultanate and the Sultanate will NOT Suffer Due to ANY Curse of HERS...
There was tremendous growth / improvement in Jodha's character...!!!..
2. Based on The Shlok ( Which is
not MY Interpretation of Shlok but the Actual Meaning / Essence Of
Shlok which was USED by the Creatives of our Show)...This is mostly related to your point-2..
The Delivery of Shlok by Jodha was very Much in Essence of the Meaning...There are certain NORMS to be followed for the recital
which she followed,
which i can not explain here as that can take the discussion out of scope...I can only write about those things which were shown in the SERIAL...Those Details are not required..!!!..That's why i wrote the CV's should have Elaborated more, but they did not....And, all the actions of Jodha were in Sync with the Recital Method..This Link will explain why was that Shlok sung.
112560226 It was to Relieve the Suffering Heart , by laying emphasis on the Resolve that, Soul is Immortal and every being has to leave this place one day...
Hence NO need to Grieve for something which is Inevitable...😊
