Who is to blame for adham's death and state of affairs in agra and Mughal empire?
Adham Khan
Adham has always been an extra constitutional authority. He has always done whatever he wants be it killing people, abusing women even others wives like Rani roopmati, treating other religious people badly, treating courtiers below him badly, no respect for any other post or human be it vakil e sultanat Atagah Khan, Shahenshah e hind Akbar or Begum e khas Ruqaiah or Jodha.
Now Maham told Akbar today this is all to be blamed on the fact that she gave more attention and love to jalal than adham. Suddenly Akbar felt guilty and bend his eyes, viewers also felt sympathy for maham and her new found love of jalal.
Akbar forgot maham had tried to spoil jodha image so soon. How did he forget for 25 years and more she kept Chand begum and tortured her for khazana and taqt? How can he forget her instigating him without any fault of ruqaiah and making him shout at her in court. How can he forget all humiliation she heaped on Jodha?
In real history how can Akbar forget twice he was attempted on by maham's men. How could he forget his unborn or just born kids killed? How can Akbar forget bairam khan's killing?
Of course in this serial I am not sure why they did not show attempt on his life in delhi by maham's guard or the assaination attempt in market etc. They even did not show Akbar getting to now his khan baba killed by maham or may be he knows but quiet why?
So convinently all this brushed aside and Akbar becomes guilty son and maham a great dai ma?
What about justice to Bairam khan? What about justice to his unborn kids? What about justice to the two girls killed by maham before they reach Akbar from malwa? When will maham be held responsible for her grave crimes against humanity?
Hence I did not like Akbar's feeling guilty and bending eyes as if guilty.
Next we come to adham khan and his behaviour.
Maham says today to Akbar I gave more love and care to you than adham hence adham felt his lawful things are taken away and given to Akbar. OK maham agreed you gave love and milk to Akbar. But you have taken back from him a million times not only in terms of power, money and audha's but the pain and suffering you gave him by killing his unborn babies, killing his dhal bairam khan and atagah khan, trying to kill Akbar itself so adham becomes emperor. Who will give answers and justice to all your crimes you meted out on Akbar?
And I do not understand this concept of giving away adham's time, love, care and milk. In villages even today if two daughter in laws have babies they feed and care for each others babies. One person I know his mother went to work in another far off city and he was entirely brought up by a neighbour who fed him milk and took care of him etc much more than maham and she was not even paid a penny by this woman. The guy thinks both are his mothers. There is no concept called karz between them. In villages it happens frequently that mothers give their infant kids to relatives, friends etc and go to far off place to work not returning for years. And those kids are cared for like own family no karz or money asked after they grow up and go to job.
And daima is a job. She is paid well for it, got power, recognition, money and her son life secure. In 21st century which king will consider his nurse maid as a mother??? None. Majority never considered in 15th century only. Do police officers, jawans, nurses, doctors etc ask karz for protecting saving someone life. Only fees/salary no karz asked. Does teachers ask karz for making so many students doctors, engineers, etc only salary? So what sort of karz is this?
Secondly she says that adham wanted everything Akbar had. Why? Because of maham only she put that jealousy in his mind that hatred in his mind for Akbar from childhood. Adham should know Akbar is an emperor born in royal family, adham is a daima son. Just because Akbar called him bhaijaan and thinks he is elder bother does that give him right to dream of becoming emperor. As far as I know it is maham who is instigating him saying you should one day become a king, look at jalal he is a fit king, you shall never be a great king blah blah. She sowed seeds in his mind that he can be king by dethroning or killing Akbar. Now believing her words if adham strated dreaming of being king who is to blame Akbar or her? Only herself.
How many times Akbar forgive her and her sons deeds? Its his greatness or dependency on her may be. But to be honest any other person in Akbar place would have killed adham long back and sent her packing to jail. Today she comes and say do not do anything to adham, I will stay in jail for him etc. The blood of innocent never goes in vain. Even if Akbar wants to forgive her or her son, both forget an higher king is there who is fair. He will take retribution against all those who have done any crimes, sin and that God is not partial like Akbar to anyone. Today it was not Akbar who ordered adham killing, it was God who ensured justice is done so brutally for the crimes of adham was so grave. Akbar was a zariya only but justice was by God himself. The same God will provide justice to others by killing maham after 40 days. As you sow so shall you reap maham anga. You wanted to kill another mother's son Akbar, you killed another mothers child in womb(ruqaiah), you would have killed the twins and salim too if you lived long enough. But humans forget there is an higher authority above any judge, king, emperor and that in his court no partiality, no relations matter.
Moral of today's episode is - no human however rich and powerful and cruel must not think his reign, his injustice and grave crimes shall go unpunished and he is invincible. One day every human has to pay for his bad deeds whether an emperor, beggar, rich or poor and Gods court does not look at relations etc it only gives JUSTICE. So before doing anything wrong in life, before hurting any other fellow human, before thinking no one sees your deeds, no witness to your crimes think a hundred times that one person sees everything and knows everything and he will give justice impartially. Justice may be delayed in God's court but never denied(unlike human courts)

Another fantastic post that forces you to think. Has there been any other historical serial which has so many complicated characters, Jalal, Maham, Adham and later on Salim? A seemingly 'normal' person like Jodha must be wondering about life and family in this environment.

It is written that the real Akbar consoled Maham in her dying days.

He knew about the misdeeds of Maham, he also knew that the deadly attack on him with an arrow that nearly killed him was most probably orchestrated by Maham. And yet he forgave her and ordered a stop to the assassination investigation.

Indeed Mughal family had many interesting and complicated humans
Especially the men were multi talented they were dreaded warriors, good administrators, ruthless judges, philosophers, painters, naturalists, great hunters, animal lovers, environmentalists, lovers, architects etc
Look at the contrast in natures in what I have listed above
Jehangir was a great animal lover and a great hunter - contrast
Akbar was a dreaded warrior cum philosopher - a contrast again
Salim was a lover boy
Jehangir was an adil padshah but a cruel judge if instigated
Shah jahan was a fundamentalist but a good architect
Then we come to women who were business women, warriors, rulers, home makers, lovers, mothers etc
Hamida was very soft although she was an empress
Hira was a business woman
Ruqaiah and Salima handled court in Akbar's absence
Rukmavati loved building gardens
Nur Jahan - should I say more about the empress who was as powerful as Akbar/Jehangir/Shah Jahan being a woman
Mumtaz- Was a support and political helper to husband
Jodh Bai- was a conessiuer of art
Jahanara- Was defacto emperor cum empress of India in Shah Jahan time after mom death and as powerful as Akbar/Jehangir/Shah Jahan
Zebunissa - Influenced her brothers to rebel against her fathers policy
The list can go one but I stop at this
