The title of your post shows, how Jodha is honoring her " Saptapadi" vows ,she took during marriage.
The basic foundation of Indian marriage is togetherness ,come what may go.Those hands which are hold infront of the "fire god " i.e " Agni" are forever held together.
Much is talked about lack of intimacy in Jajo. But only for lack of it ,can we say their marriage is no worth ? Is intimacy everything in marriage ?
Then for that matter,Was only Sita ,the good wife in Ramayana? Wasn't Urmila ,laxman's wife ,a good wife ?Atleast Sita had Ram with her.Urmila lived 14 yrs without Laxman and for that matter without any intimacy too.Still never for a moment ,her immense love for Laxman lessened .
The point what I want to make here is ,now there will be lot of events in Jajo 's life ,where they will be doing many things together. They will dream together ,cry together ,take trips together ,pray together. Maybe we won't see some exclusive "Love scenes " ,But we should be happy as we would see their journey together towards eternity.Which other lovestories have so much elements in it?
As far as Akdha are concerned ,it's not a love story written by scriptwriters ,it's a historical love journey scripted by Almighty himself.

I was feeling a bit low after receiving Maddy's text that Atgah sahib was killed. Knowing it fully well that this is just a show...this event is historically true...and why the hell should I bother about side characters like Atgah, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Jalal's loss...and of course we have come to love Atgah khan...and Jiji Anga. She was so distraught after he was injured during the polo match. He became such a lovable character and found respect in our hearts with his loyalty and hukum ki taameel hogi dialogues. I am glad that we were introduced to his son before his death.

Adham and MA... I don't feel sorry for them. Their doodh ka Karz dialogues are extremely annoying. She was his dai ( like jiji Anga) and was doing her duty by taking care of Jalal... Just like Jalal's bodyguards and soilders who exposed themselves to injuries and death to save Jalal but never asked for blood, skin, muscle or bone ka Karz. This thankless mother- son duo was so not worthy of the the VIP treatment they were given by Jalal ( and the CVs...even MA's exposure was glorified...she didn't want him dead...so that makes her human ????...what about the fact that she wanted a life worse than death for him and his loved ones? 😡) . I am glad that Adham will meet his end soon. I just hope that they don't waste too much screen time on MA's grief...or use her famous dialogue when Jalal delivers the news of Adham's death "you did the right thing" to partially redeem her...or her( or Resham's ) revenge...no one is interested in watching that crap. Btw... Salute Javeda for her loyalty towards the empire.

Glad that JJ relationship is heading towards normalcy. Hope they portray them as sensible individuals and don't show Jalal watering the plants of angoori bagh with his tears... or Jodha giving him one more unrealistic advice like forgiving MA and co conspirators of Atgah's assassination( if she does, I wouldnt mind it if Jalal overrules her...Just like Jalal, she also needs to learn from her mistakes)...We are craving some intelligently written and directed episodes.

Cleo,

Great post! Good to have you back 😊

I have been observing Maham's behavior. I do not sympathize with her. She is a hypocrite who is always using emotional blackmail to manipulate people to her advantage.

But what puzzles is that ever since her downfall started a few months ago, she seems to have contradictory feelings fighting with each other within her. I mean, I cannot dismiss her as a single-dimensional evil person. She seems like a complex, multi-layered personality with some issues.

I do feel now that somewhere deep inside she has mixed feelings for Jalal. She may want to harm him and wrest the throne for her own son. Yet, she is also still strangely attached to him in ways that puzzle and upset her.

Jalal too is still tied to her with an umbilical cord that he is unable to cut off, in spite of witnessing her treachery and understanding that she is a threat to not only him but also the greater interests of the empire.

Even in reality, these two remained tied together by a strange relationship till her end. Akbar took personal care of her in her last days. And sh did tell him that he had done the right thing by killing Adham.

It's easy to hate someone evil and want them to be punished and done away with at the earliest. It is a natural human wish to see good win over evil.

But life is not all black and white. It is a myriad shades of grey in between.

I also do not like vamps to be glorified or hog screen space at the cost of the leads. But,. at the same time, I do feel the CVs have succeeded to a certain extent in showing the personality of this woman who rose to eminence on the dint of her personality and her shrewd, Machiavellian thinking. She could not have been much educated. The position of women was not all that good in those days, in the sense that men did not welcome women into politics or officialdom openly. So she must have had something in her (besides evil) to have risen to the level of wazir-e-aliya.

We can say she used Jalal to do so. But even using someone to rise is not an easy task or everyone else would have done so too. I am not supporting what she did or condoning her acts. But as a woman, I am trying to understand where this woman comes from and what exactly is her relationship with Jalal.

If she had merely used Jalal, he was not a fool to feel pained by her behavior to such an extent. He would have simply dismissed her from his service without a second thought.

If we do see her telling Jalal that he had done the right thing, it will not be a case of CVs redeeming her character. It will only be a case of CVs showing history as it happened. We have to accept history in its entirety and not choose to ignore things that we do not agree with.

There can be no redemption for her character now. Because she has fallen from the grace of the one person who she regarded as the most important in her life - whether out of love or out of what she could get from (proximity to) him. She can never be redeemed in his eyes again.

But by still giving her the respect that Jalal reserves for people who have served him since his childhood, he is being infinitely redeemed, if he requires to be redeemed. It is the sign of eternal greatness that great people forgive and move on. They continue to remain grateful to those who have served them, in spite of knowing their motive in doing so.

Even if Jalal is shown to forgive her and continue to care for her, esp after the death of her son at his hands, that act should be seen as a sign of his greatness and not hers.

Here, forgiving her does not mean that Jalal has or will forget whatever bad deeds she did. It just means that he will remember those acts but without pain. And he will care for her but not give her back her position or ease her comeback to a position where she can again harm someone.

I know lots of people will hate this post, but I had to express what I felt about this woman, who is nearing her end.😊

For emotional anchor, other aspects of marriage can be bought by throwing money in market , like physical needs, keep house clean , cooking or protection etc. But emotional anchor cannot be bought.Usually in our life when we are growing our parents are our emotional anchors they help us in understanding world and working in it, in our teens or initial years of youth we have friends as our anchor but later on everyone needs a permanent anchor, coz even best of the friends its not possible that they wud stay close to you all the time. M loving their journey that they have covered so far n i HOPE the makers show us a small leap of 7-8 mnths instead of years 😊 so that we can relish more of their journey together.

Thanks History greek for this wonderful thought and post. 😊

MNR

Your post is equally positive. 👏

Akbar married many times and had a harem full of beautiful, talented, intelligent women. But among all of them, he found succor in only one woman. It speaks volumes about this great woman who managed to win over the emperor with her simplicity, grace, dignity and compassion for everyone. And they were not even from the same background nor in love when they married!

It reminds me of another beautiful love story related to Rajputana - that of Rawal Ratan Singh and Rani Padmini of Chittor. He was a Rajput and she was a Sinhalese (from modern Sri Lanka). They were so diverse in their background and yet so much in love. She ultimately sacrificed her life in his honor (in spite of being from a culture where normally jauhar was not the practice). 👏

I do hope we get to see every aspect of the divine love story of Akbar and Jodha, without leaps or lapses. 😊

I agree that the track was introduced to show Jalal having a scandalous extramarital affair with Atifa when Jo was pregnant. But the viewers rejected it right away. Therefore, midway through the track, they changed the storyline and tried to turn it into a TE007 track... That is why we see so many loopholes. It is ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.

But I, as a viewer, am willing to forget and forgive as long as JJ are happy together. Hope that the CVs learnt a lesson that viewers will not accept Jalal without Jodha or vice versa. They sold us a Jalal-Jodha love story and if they make an attempt to turn it into a Jalal-Atifa or Jalal- Ruk or Jalal- Tom, Dick n Harry story, they will lose their precious trps.
Cheers:)

Cleo,

Today I am in a mood where I want to see complex characters with all their shades kept in tact. 😉

I so wanted to see the case of the woman whom Jalal gets divorced from her husband (a noble man in his Delhi court) and marries for her beauty.

I wanted to see how, in spite of being a ladies' man in his early years, he continued to love Jodha and then later on, turned spiritual and gave up on physical desires. I still want to see his journey from a lustful man to a spiritual, multi-cultural, tolerant man. And how Jodha walked this path of spiritual progress with him, step for step.

She was not only his emotional anchor but also his spiritual guide and companion.

I do want CVs to show all his dalliances and how ultimately he got disillusioned with such a life and turned to God and Jodha for peace and serenity. 😊

@ bold

Sindhu,

But she is also a very ethical person who is deeply aware of what is right and what is wrong. She has always blurted out the truth to Maham and Adham in her playful, blabbering way. She is so child-like - innocent yet morally honest. And not afraid of calling a spade a spade. 👏
