The theme for today's episode ... " rishta wohi soch nahin." Tsk, tsk, Zee. Stealing the tagline from your rival Star Plus. What happened to Ruqaiyya?
In any case, the CVs focused on relationships today and foreshadowed many changes in relationships moving forward. So, my take today is top 5 relationship stories shown today:
1. Sauten bani saheli: This was like revolutionary to see Ruq's telling Jodha that her idea to have a celebration for Jalal was a good one and then making halwa for Jodha.
I would be suspicious except she did cite that she was making halwa to return her ehsaan. So, I will let Ruq's return back her ehsaan and when that account is at zero, I will expect Ruq's to come back to her usual antics. And stepping into the kitchen and making halwa are such momentous tasks, that it might wipe off the ehsaan account immediately. 😉
However, the fact Ruq's is cooking is in itself indirectly a risk for Jodha - remember the rotis she made in the Badal-Kajri track? 😆
I am remembering the Halwa scene from Hum Apke Hai Kaun? Namak kuch zgyaada nahin hai! 😉 If Ruq's halwa is anything like that, Jodha better run for her life. 😆Now, what is the surprise they plan for Jalal? Seeing all the women cooking, I did think they were going to do the Agra version of Masterchef. Except that would increase Jalal's stress instead of making it better ... how could he possibly choose a winner, when he knows his lack of peace after selecting one
2. Maham Anga- Jalal: Two sides of the coin were shown today. Ashwini continues to shine in showing shock and her conflicted love for Jalal.
I am still puzzled by Maham Anga ... what she is calling love , I believe it is her possessiveness for Jalal. Having saved his life, she feels she owns his life and wants to control it.. Whether it is happiness or pain, she wants to control it. And while she can give him pain that kills him, she cannot see him dead.
She is also always conflicted between her love for power and Jalal ... now that she has lost both, she is leaning back to her first love Jalal.
On the other side, Jalal is recalling his moments with Maham Anga. It was heart-wrenching. He is already reeling from the shock of losing Maham Anga ... imagine when he loses Atgah Khan.
3. Atgah Khan-Jalal: Just as we know Atgah Khan will soon be killed, we are seeing the true bond between the two. Atgah Khan's true faith in Jalal and how it was recognized today in the DEK was beautiful. ⭐️
I liked how Atgah Khan said he did not want anything in return for his service to Jalal ... what a contrast to Maham Anga!
Similarly, loved how Jalal knew Atgah Saab would say that and had new powers waiting for him.
4. Jalal-Adham: As history said, Adham would be reduced to nothing prior to his killing of Atgah Khan and that is exactly what we saw today.
We could see various shades of Adham today- his anger and hurt for his mother and his failing aspirations with Javeda and the resulting anger.
Similarly, Jalal showed immense maturity in understanding Adham's frustration and source of pain and understanding that Maham Anga's care for him was somewhere the source for it. 👏
It is unfortunate that instead of appreciating this human side of Jalal ... many of his relatives abused it.
5. Rahim-Jalal: First it was cute to have Jalal go on a treasure hunt for his Jodha Begum as Motibai and Hoshiyaar tried to hide the truth. But, the Rahim-Jalal interaction takes the prize.
It has been such a long time since we saw Rahim on the screen ... but his return signifies the return of lighter days on this show.
And it was a nice man-to-man talk as the women were ganging up on them with their plans. I loved how Jalal called him his "small man"
Did I tell you how much I am waiting to see Jalal with a little Salim? The CVs better not forward past that.
Dialogue of the day: While Koka's love story was cute, I loved Jalal's comment on it on how one queen recognized a Mughal's worth in one meeting versus another Queen taking a year. 😉
Ah, but if it were so easy, the CVs could have ended the serial in a month! 😆
A few honorable mentions:
- Nigaar-Jalal: Glad this angle is resolving itself and hope Nigaar just disappears into the background. I was fearing for Delhi residents that Nigaar would rule Delhi ... but thankfully she entrusted it to Jalal. Phew! 😉
- Todarmal: Poor guy, he must feel out of the loop for the last conspiracy ... so he is trying to guess the next one will be from Adham Khan and boy was he right!
While I agree with Jalal's rationale to give Adham Khan some time, this judgment will cost Atgah's life. Ah, but that is what is destined to be.
Precap: I need to leave something for tomorrow! If he played chess with Ruqaiyya, I wonder what he wanted to play with Jodha. 😳
Update for PP: Looks like Rajat-Paridhi were excited to get a chance to do such a scene after a long time. Rajat must have been like- how long can we talk about boring things! 😉
But, I bet the precap is better than how it will fizzle out tomorrow. Do we know the CVs well or not?
Okay, thoughts on the episode and my take?
