As for this dissertation about Jalal and Jodha, I am afraid I can no longer muster any enthusiasm for it. In fact, I am surprised to see you still indulging in this kind of stuff. But since you have made this post, let me think of something to say about your topic.
Jodha is primarily in love with her image of herself. All else comes second. She has the gall to assume that just because Jalal has come personally to rescue her, all is well between them. Even then, she starts lecturing him Shahenshah, baat ko samajne ka prayas kijiye..
Her apologies are always qualified about her mansha being good - apparently no one has told her that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And when she is between a rock and a hard place, as when Jalal berates her about the soldiers killed by Khyber, she simply lowers her eyes and keeps quiet.
Tonight, because Jalal holds her hand when he hears the speculation in the crowd, Jodha is once again preening herself assuming that all is well. Jalal does is as much for his own sake as hers, he cannot have it said that the mother of the children he is to have is not paksaaf.
I suppose Jodha must be familiar with the Ramayana, and how Lord Rama treated Sita, though her kidnapping was not her fault, except that she crossed the Lakshmanrekha taking Ravana to be a rishi. She had to go thru an agniparisksha, and then again, because a dhobi made a loose comment about her character, Rama had a pregnant Sita abandoned in the forest.
It is a pity Jalal does not know the Ramayana, but Jodha should thank her lucky stars that she has not married the likes of Lord Rama,. In fact, in a 16th century royal family, a wife who behaved as Jodha does, and spent days on end wandering around the countryside with a strange man, would never have been taken back. The scandal would have been horrendous and not even a Shahenshah could have weathered it.
Ok, this is it about Jodha Akbar from me for a good long time to come!
Shyamala
hi folks!
after watching today's epi i was just wondering how much jodha loves jalal, does she love him the way he loves her...i will dissect the two sides of the coin as per lots of different opinions about how strongly they feel for each other...
jalal
jalal wo zameen hai jispe jodha pair rakhti hai..zameen khiski aur jodha ka wajood jo jalal se jura hai wo khatm!
ps..the first line of jalal wo zameen hai was mentioned earlier by shyamala or ela i cannot remember, sorry for using it as i thought it was so apt here!
