I think Khyber track was introduced for the sole purpose of showing a reason for Jalal to get angry at Jodha, to again start the insult Jodha track which CVs LOVE and for giving Jalal some justification to fall for Atifa. Did Jalal not put the blame for feelings for Atifa on Jodha? How could CVs have got Jalal to do this and somehow make it all Jodha's fault if not for Khyber!
@underline - Yes, even now (after Fri epi), things are still not hunky dory yet between JJ (at least on the surface) and next week, Jalal will announce his wedding.
I think Jalal Jodha actual relationship started from the marriage track. It started from revenge (his extreme attraction to her hidden under this guise) and true pure hatred from Jodha.
The rocky start to the marriage and the first traumatic event was Ruk MC. Where Jalal ordered Jodha and her brothers to be burned alive - even when he had a flimsy proof. He had to be told by HB and the ulemas that he has to give time, gather proof and let Jodha and her brothers prove their innocence. Jalal agreed with great reluctance.
The way he behaved then (and before that in Moti-Adham matter where he totally ignored Adham's past record with women and MA's total influence and awareness that she will do utmost to get Adham out of the accusations) has set the base for their relationship.
Jalal has got into a pattern of raging outbursts and temper tantrums against Jodha and then when found wrong ask for forgiveness.
Why do you think this is so, Maddy? I mean, look at how he behaves with Ruq or Salima. He dare not shout at them or even ignore them. Why does he take Jo only so much for granted? Does love mean that you don't need to bother about being nice to the person you love?
In fact, it is so selfish to take your temper on someone you love. Without thinking how it would hurt them. 😕
Like Jodha told once to SB, she feels put on pedestal one moment that she feels scared and insulted so vilely that she cannot breathe, this the pattern Jalal has set of their relationship.
What is most curious to me is that he is capable of behaving very differently calmly when it comes to all of Ruk's antics. He has never treated Ruk as harshly as he has always treated Jodha. See his behavior when he thought Ruk was pregnant, his care for BB.
Jalal got away with it and so he does it again and again. The 2 major tracks were Ben track where Jodha was treated so horribly and insulted even in DEK by everybody, questioned even about what kind of wife she has been. Jodha was so desperate to save his life she overlooked all the insults and his horrible words that he will not even turn to look at her if she was dying. Jodha had to finally drink poison for Jalal to get out of the dhakka.
However, even then Jalal did not show consideration to Jodha - if he truly did, he would never have left Jodha to sleep out in the open while sleeping inside the tent with Ruk. That was horrible scene and one of the low points of JA for me. Jodha came with him even in her just recovered from near death and was with him happily in all kinds of hardships without a single complaint, what did Jalal give her in return? He slept with Ruk in the tent while Jodha was made to sleep out int he open.
Why could he have not told Ruk that Jodha is recovering we both will sit outside let her rest. He did not so that was disgraceful behavior.
Jalal could have chosen the Khyber method and offered the bed to Ruq and Jo and slept on the floor. 😆
Sujamal track Jalal tried his utmost to not get swayed in by MA's instigation against Jodha but he blew finally when he saw Sujamal in Jodha's hojara. Again I think his anger was justified when she refused to tell him. However, the way he went about it almost punching Jodha, pulling her hair and shredding her with his words. This over reaction as usual is ONLY towards Jodha. His anger was justified the way he expressed it was due to his set pattern with Jodha.
Jodha refusing to come back to Agra - has Jalal learnt anything after this? If he had - he would not have again verbally abused pregnant Jodha.
I do feel Jalal loves Jodha - what kind of love is the question. He has clearly got into a pattern with her where he feels she will take it no matter what he says so he never thinks before raging at her.
I really hope that at least in future tracks, he is shown more considerate and dignified in his behavior towards Jo, even if there is some tension between them.
I honestly do not care about Atifa, cos she means nothing to me. Let us even assume he felt attraction for Atifa for some reason, or whether he is pretending it just does not matter.
What matters is how he has treated pregnant Jodha, who he says he loves deeply and most important his 2 waris she is carrying.
Jalal did not put any extra security to guard Jodha. Ignored Adga's warning that there could be a hidden way Khyber got into Jodha's hojara. What kind of concern is this for Jodha's safety?
Jodha is not given any extra bandis to serve her during pregnancy.
Since he hugged Atifa in the bathtub Jalal has not even ONCE visited
Jodha to ask about her health and his babies.
Jalal did not even tell HB and SB to take care of Jodha. Told Ruk to take care of Jodha??????????????????????? Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean this one act of his is sure to drive any Teda Jalal arguments anyone wants to make. Not even very loyal Ruk fan can say she is capable of taking any care of Jodha even in normal times, NOW when Ruk is jealous, Jalal knows this and already warned her and Jalal is asking RUK to take care of Jodha?!
But HB and SB could have come on their own to care for her, isn't it?
Jalal's raging outburst against Jodha - absolutely disgusting and that one single episode made me question what kind of love he feels for Jodha.
If Jalal is pretending to safeguard Jodha (as some are saying) then should HER HEALTH and THEIR BABIES be his priority at all times? Why did Jalal simply not stop at yes he has fallen for Atifa and he even has started loving her. Even that was a crushing blow to Jodha.
Jalal did not stop there - he put the BLAME for his feelings for Atifa on Jodha saying she drove him to do this, that Jodha is not layak of his love, he questioned what has she EVER done for him, that she has crushed his love, he feels he committed a mistake by loving her - WORST of all - when Jodha requested him not to talk loudly their babies will hear - Jalal shouted at his babies bending down saying let them know what he thinks of their mother!
In all the tracks before even in Mirchi war, Jalal came across as gullible, too trusting of MA and Ruk, sometimes foolish to fall so easily in the trap of Nigar - but he had not come across like what he did after he raged at pregnant Jodha and their babies - Jalal fell in my eyes on that day.
Again don't care about Atifa, but as husband to a pregnant Jodha who he says he loves and towards his waris who he has craved for so long - he is big failure. Pretending for their care, he might have caused Jodha to miscarry and what kind of father shouts at his babies in the womb?
Dioes he now know how much his words will crush Jodha? What is the use of asking where she is and feeling sorry later when the damage is done?
So does he love Jodha? Yes I think he does in his way - but he has got into an abusive violent raging temper tantrums pattern with her which he does not seem to care to break - even now when Jodha is pregnant.
Compared to how he behaved with Ruk when she was faking her pregnancy - his behavior makes me more disgusted.
He asked Jodha to taste Ruk's food not caring for Jodha's life then. If Jalal is doing all this to safeguard Jodha, why nobody is asked to taste her food, esp Ruk?
Jalal visited Ruk many times and promised to spend lot more time with her - after Atifa not a single visit to ask about Jodha's health.
Jalal visited temple with Jodha for the Pooja for Ruk's fake baby - what has he done for his and Jodha's babies?
Jalal promised Jodha he will personally take care of her but he has done NOTHING towards this.
Jalal's baby talk to Ruk's baby and contrast this with raging at Jodha and shouting at her babies.
Is this love? Where he drove her to such despair that Jodha felt like committing suicide in a weak moment!

Just cos Jodha does not say such things, does not expect anything from anyone, does it mean she is not comparing how Jalal, HB and everybody behaved with Ruk? When it is Jodha's pregnancy not a soul in Agra seems to care about her.
I don't know about love, but if this is his love towards his pregnant wife and babies and treatment of her - then Jodha should mentally divorce Jalal like some are saying. Tell him go have your marriages and love affairs and what not. Just keep away from me. Cos don't know about his feelings/lack of/pretending towards Atifa - husband to a pregnant wife and expectant father he is big big failure and fell from my eyes.
I don't mind his affairs, as long as he gives Jodha due respect, love and care. I think Jo also understands this and expects this only from him. Oh, and one more thing, trust. He must trust that Jo always has his best interests at heart and always means well. And he must trust her with his plans, if any. He can't expect trust from her if he won't trust her in return.
