Divi,
Lot of things happened yesterday, all very subtle, but, how these things will be played out, only time will tell...
1. Khyber - The dude is clearly head over in heels in love with Jodha. But apart from grunting, making cow eyes at Jodha, and squinting at those who are mean to her, or admire her, there's little else he does. And oh yes, he sat on her bed yesterday. Ask Jallu, the first time he tried that trick, Jodha attacked him with a dagger. And the dude even got a BGM. 👏
Khaiber is coming up in life with the BGM
2. Shareef-ud-Din - He won a lottery, well sort of. He was almost too happy to have found a secret path to Jodha's hojra, but, Jodha requested Jalaal to release Khyber, and he's confused now, did another nirdosh pashu enter Agra ecology? Earlier in Jodha's hojra, he shouted, "Tune hamari beghum sahiba ko chhoone ki himmat kaise ki", but, obviously Jodha had to miss that one. But, Atgah sahab was too quick. 😆
Oh I caught the "hamari begum" too - I knew you would. But Hamari could mean ours / or the Mughal Sultanate 😆
3. Atgah Sahab - Now, after "catching" Jalaal in the act, he also caught Shareef. And also fanned fires in Jodha's heart...😆
Poor guy- he will go crazy
4. Atifa's husband - I feel Atifa and her bitter half put on quite a show. Any child would know of the spies in the palace, so Atifa's husband stressed about leaving post Eid, so that a love-sick Jallu would do something stupid, to stop this. This is a two-pronged plan, distract Jalaal with Atifa, and harm Jodha, while he isn't there.
And confuse us on his and Atifa's intentions
5. Jodha - In a way I feel bad for this girl, imagine you have a nightmare of you pati with some patty, and you wake up to find, the thing from Fantastic Four ogling you. Now, that would upset anyone's balance, so I could forgive for her next day's behaviour. Or can I? I think, she should have tried to reason out with Jallu about her wish, in private, before Jalaal had ordered public execution of Khy. Honestly, it's extremely freaky to find an unknown man in your bedroom in the dead of night, that too when he stares at you like that. I would probably wish I had a gun if something like that ever happened to me. It's just too creepy.
If Jalal was in her room (as in the cold night tent) she would have screamed out and punished herself ... but Khaiber ... he is innocent.
The issue is - yes Khaiber is innocent to her but she is not thinking of her responsibility as a Begum- she saw him ready to strangle multiple people ... will she be there to stop him every time
6. Jalaal - Save the best for the last they say. I feel he was right in his anger, Khy is a dangerous person, trained to kill, and when a person like that enters harem, it's a matter of danger and shame to Akbar. What if he'd gone on a rampage? As of now, he's listening to Jodha, but, what about later? What if he had gone to some other lady's room? And his master had sent him to Jodha's hojra to harm Jodha. Jalaal knows what he's capable of in anger, having been thrown more than a couple of times by Khy. Will Jodha in her current state be able to withstand one throw like that? And yes, as a spouse, I think, he's absolutely right in showing a mirror to Jodha (mother-tongue idiom), Jodha has trusted enough trouble-makers for their sweet-tongues in the past, and is not-such-a-good-judge of character. Actually, I loved that scene. I was sick and tired of a stupid Jalaal boxed into a corner with anuchit bhaashans. Now during the mirchi war, all of us were crying our hearts out over a weak Jalaal, and obviously, CVs stalking the forum, gave us a ghost of a strong Jalaal, it was 3 weeks late, but, then there'e a 3 week lag between shooting and telecast, so that makes sense. And yes, what happened in the end of the episode, was probably the most embarrassing thing that could happen to Jalaal, his queen leaves the parda in front of common citizens and asks him to revoke his order, even the commoners were smart enough to understand what was going on, and how the Queen looked more powerful than a King. Jodha should've gotten a hint.
I liked Jalal's words ... but I want him to back it up with action. He cannot say those words and mess it up with Atifa. And he could have been softer.
But yes the end was embarassing
The Human Rights Activists might kill me for this, but, let's think of the scenario. What do you do with a person like Khy? He's too dangerous to be left in the palace, but, it would be unfair to kill him. The only solution I can think of, is to put him in a row-boat and float him into Arabian Sea - Life of Khy.😆
A few things that I observed,
1. Does Shareef take bath? He wears the same dress. ALWAYS.
The bigger question is do they dry clean his clothes
2. Jallu and Atifa matched when they arrived in Agra...😆
Did you have to observe that?
3. Somehow the citizens of Agra have aiming skills worse than a cross-eyed drunk. Not even one stone hit the target, a giant. 😆
Raksha tum bhi na 😆
All in all, an ok episode, except Jalaal who was better than usual. But, I shudder to think of the tear tsunami we'll subjected to...
It will be a tsunami ... but we don't know what kind of tsunami
Lovely post! Yes, two wrongs don't make a right. 👏
Thank you!
