Though the proceedings this week have been a bit pheeka, I am enthused by the TRP and hence I give my views again.
Thank you Ela for the write up, I found the Jodha Jalal scene quite nice. Other than that I wish to comment on two other things.
Firstly, the huge jump in TRP shows that, if you show the right stuff, the audience will respond. We are lucky in that respect, there are so many serials that present one after another great scenes and yet make no impact on ratings. I believe the ratings for last week would have taken blockbuster proportions if they had only portrayed Akbar better.
Secondly, a new storm has been unleashed in the forum after the new spoiler. Enlighten me, I am a bit stupid, but nowhere in the spoiler did it mention that Akbar was taking a romantic interest in the minister's wife. He praised her singing, so what? Let's not take half spoilers and then make a scenario where we try to match it with history and here history is dubious too, because the incident used for this speculation is not mentioned in the historical records of Abul Fazl or Badauni or in Tuzk I Jahangiri.
We can be despondent if we want too, or we can just shrug it off as I do. I am very confident of one thing in this serial, Ekta can destroy any character in the name of natkiya rupantar, as in case of Akbar, but there is a romantic equation between Jodha and Akbar, a relationship that is the basis of their soul talks. Nothing will be done to harm that, everything else is fair game for the CV's.
