Sneaked watching the episode in the middle of work and missed writing a take 5 so here it is.
If you imagine Jalal was fighting on the war front and Abul Mali sneaked in the harem and what happened today happened, we would all be happy.
So, given I did not have to see what state Jalal was in today, I actually enjoyed the episode for what it was today.
I somehow felt the CVs were starting to do some damage control today with the return of logic and common sense, especially amidst the women. Let us see how long that lasts.
So with that, here is my take 5:
(1) Hamida Bano: Loved her composure and calmness throughout today's episode especially as she told the begums to stay calm; even her reaction to Jalal's death news was dignified. She showed the strength of a true empress today.
(2) Todarmal's returning common sense: After terrifying the begums yesterday by announcing Jalal's capture, today he had the common sense to make sure Jalal's capture news did not spread and demoralize the entire army.
Now, my hope is, somehow he and the army does manage to find Jalal and help him get released.
(3) Jodha's common sense returning: While the soul connection is endearing and romantic to believe Jalal is alive, I loved the logical reasoning of how Jodha deduced that Jalal was alive:
- That Abul Mali would have brought Jalal's body if he had truly died
- That Jalal would have never begged
It was this logical reasoning that also helped rebuild the morale of the other begums and that is why it was all the more important.
(4) A glimpse of the past and a glimmer of hope: It was great to see an angry, determined Jalal in the flashback who said he would fight till her death with his head high or return victorious. What made me even more hopeful is Jodha's conviction that Jalal will save them ... She did not say that they need to save themselves and Jalal. And Jodha is never wrong! 😉
It looks like the CVs are looking to salvage Jalal's character .. We just need selective amnesia on the past few days episodes as our CVs are gifted with.
(5) The begum's valour: Loved the precap with Ruq's attacking the soldiers with her punch dialogue and Jodha attacking Abul Mali with her own punch dialogue. What a beautiful sight!
By the way, one of the begums in the side looked like she was cutting vegetables with her sword. 😆
Honorable Mention: When Shaguni Bai was yelling at Kalimaa about how a fool cannot challenge and change destiny and fate ... I couldn't help but think that applied to the CVs more than anyone else ... As I always said, CVs cannot change what destiny has already written for Akbar. So, let's not worry about that.
