Hi Mansi,

Today every word you wrote reflects my own thoughts and feelings on the subject.

So I won't dwell on what you have already said so well.

Today we will see the aftermath of the exposure. How the news spreads to others, how Jalal reveals all to Jodha and seeks solace from her ---- his anchor and bedrock, how he tries to stem the damage to his and his family's/sultanat's prestige, how others react to this stunning news and finally, how Ruq herself carries herself after having been reduced to dirt overnight in Jalal and everyone else's eyes.

There cannot be a public humiliation of Ruq because of the reasons you have cited and because Jalal, by nature, would rather ignore a person than punish them openly, esp someone from his own inner circle. We have seen this trend since BB's time.

But there can be no doubt that indirectly, the public disgrace and fall of audha will be complete for Ruq. She will be the laughing stock of everyone from bandis to other harem begums , over whom she had lorded over all these years.

How can anyone of the senior ladies like HB, Gulbadan Begum, etc to court officials to the general public respect or trust her ever again after this gross betrayal of her husband and SS?

Coming to her treatment of Jodha in the past few days, I have maintained that it was graceful on Jodha's part to look after Jalal's unborn child so well. She didn't lose her self-respect by acting like the handmaiden of Ruq. She rose in Jalal's eyes by showing her immense love and magnanimity for him and his child.

When we contrast her grace and dignity with the cheap and undignified behaviour of Ruq, we can easily see who wins the sweepstakes in terms of everyone's respect and admiration.

After this event, she will naturally rise in the eyes of not just her husband but the entire Agra palace and the people. If now Jalal sidelines Ruq, and elevate Jodha, who will question him or attribute his actions to blind love and neglect of a childhood friend?

If Jodha had also remained conscious of her status as a Khan queen and insisted that she was no dasi to look after another queen, she would have shown herself to be not much better than Ruq in Jalal?'s eyes. The fact that she is so down to earth, unaffected by royal trappings, is what drew her to him in the first place. The fact that she has a heart overflowing with love for everyone and is willing to give people a second chance at repairing relations will always stand her in good stead with Jalal.

In Sanskrit, it is said, 'namanti phalino vriksha, namanti gunino jana'. A fruit laden tree and good people are always humble and do not feel ashamed of bending before others. In fact, they are able to withstand storms by bending and letting the worst pass over them. But arrogant people and trees that have no fruit and stand tall, are the ones who are uprooted easily by a tempest.

The question of Jodha's public humiliation earlier is a haunting sceptre that refuses to go away. But that was the past when Jalal had not fully accepted her in his life. Now she is his life itself and he will not himself humiliate her publicly ever again.

The question also arises why he never defends Jodha when others insult her publicly. Is there any use trying to talk sense to a person intent on mudslinging? Such a person will only stoop even lower if admonished. yes, I will complain if Jalal himself hurts Jodha now on. As long as he and the people who are going to matter in the future respect her, I am not bothered by the likes of ruq and Maham misbehavior with her. It is best to ignore them like Jalal does. To even scold them is to give them undue weightAge.

Where does life leave such people? In the dumps, like Maham and ruq have found out to their surprise. Where does life take apparent 'spineless people' like Jalal and Jodha? To the dizzying heights of eternal greatness and reverence.

I have said more than I intended to. Sorry folks!

Mansi, once again, thanks for a wonderfully balanced view without falling for the differential treatment of Jodha and ruq and for showing a deep understanding of Jalal's personal and public ignominy. Thanks so much!

If Ruk truth is not revealed then Jalal looks like a fool. Everybody in the haram knows what all Jalal and Jodha did for Ruk and her baby. Jodha literally turned into almost a bandi of Ruk pressing her feet and head and everything else!

Ruk needs to face the music and PAY atleast this time.

Well put Mansi.

I am copy pasting this from Ela's thread:

Do any of you remember the RoadRunner show? The coyote keeps chasing the roadrunner and runs off the cliff. It can keep running until it looks down and sees that there is no ground below it. And then after realisation dawns, it falls. This is what I exactly find to be happening in the show right now.

That was a lovely and very apt symbolism. I am afraid realisation is going to dawn on Ruq too little and too late! See how the mighty are fallen!

Absolutely gorgeous take Mansi
Really sad that two women he knew since childhood stabbed him so bad. Really this plan of Rukkaiya was stupid and born out of false believe that she will get away with everything

I believe that there won't be any public reprimand because that will make both jodha and Jalal look like fool. She will still have her much loved Audha in name but there will be private distancing . Rukkaiya has lost the post of his advisor. She has hit her own foot with an axe. And yes the gossip market will be rife

I was so happy after yesterday's epi. Now she'll be put in her place. If Jalal spoilt her rotten, it doesn't imply that she has lost the senses to differentiate between right and wrong. After all, she was so well educated you know. Jalal and Jodha will learn the lesson not to ever trust people as hollow as Ruqayya. She doesn't even have control over her own senses. Nor does she know what she is doing. She is lost in delirium. She will come out of her misery after much introspection bust by then she'll be alone.

You know, I am not able to fault Jalal that he spoilt her rotten. The thing is that both of them were very young, but she being a girl must have matured slightly ahead of him. And in her slight edge on maturity she has gotten into the habit of dictating terms to him and he has found it easy to give in to her - because the home front was less of a priority for him than the external front where he had hard wars to fight and a great deal of administration to learn in a very short time. His busy and external life has given her a free run of the rest of his life and often I suspect he just gave in rather than take on the domestic issues also on his head!

The poet William Blake said "It's sometimes easier to forgive an enemy than a friend". There's another even more beautiful line from David Leviathan that reads: "It was a mistake," you said. But the cruel thing was, it felt like the mistake was mine, for trusting you."

Yes that quote was perfect isn't it? Glad I found it! Sometimes we have to fault ourselves for being too trusting of the unreliable others!

Great post Mansi!

I think the episode was executed well, and yesterday Jalal took command of the whole Ruqaiyya issue as an emperor and not a person, and that's what made his grey cells work yesterday!
I knew that precap isn't a dream, but I possibly had no clue Cv's would wrap up everything in one episode! Well done CV's!

Rajat's acting was superb in the last two parts of the episode! 👏

Ruqaiyya's apology was like w*f, still no guilt, she really has no idea how much she's damaged Jalal to no extend! 🥱

Today we are going to see the real angry man Jalal, and I really want HB to slap Ruqaiyya and even Jodha should slap Ruqaiyya! She deserves to be slapped for tricking the entire Mughal Sultanat! 🤢

and Shehnaaz: She's also become dumb now! 🥱

but all this is going to teach Jalal and Jodha a very good lesson, so it was a much needed blow.

What I loved about Rajat's acting yesterday was that he was able to show external stunned silence along with an internal blaze of fury. Fantastic!

See there is one big challenge in this situation for Jalal. If it is exposed that Ruq cheated Jalal all along, he looks like more a bewakoof than she does and he will himself become the object of ridicule. This is exactly like the situation of a man who wife has had an extra marital affair,. If he exposes the wife, he will look like a person without mardangi.
So here Jalal has to "punish" in such a way that he gets the harshest message across to Ruq and her life is ruined ... but at the same time he has to protect himself from becoming an object of gossip and lampooning!
