yep... I'm right there in that corner of the room housing P&P fanatics... 😆 *croons in michael Jackson's voice* you are not alone, I am here with you... in the room that is... 😆
I do have a few ideas of JA with some other books... will definetely share later tonight... headache wala busy day today... but a teaser... a bit of jane eyre... a bit of Sherlock holmes... 😆 😆

Thanks- I tell you there is an international, invisible Jane Austen club that bonds so many of us.

I found Jane Eyre to share a lot of similarities with Ekta's Kasamh Se- ever watched that serial?

Hope your day is recovering and look forward to your thoughts- who knows we might see Sherlock Holmes type investigations soon!

No use copying the dialogues when the essence of the scene is lost, when the intensity and feel is completely missing.

Divi,
There is a huge difference between Lydia Wickham elopement and Shivaani Tejwant elopement.
Lydia did'nt elope leaving anyone waiting at the altar and disgrace anyone but her self. Also Darcy felt morally responsible as he didn't expose Wickham earlier. Hence he made amends, that too discretely. Not accept it so openly as though running away was the right thing to do.

Again Darcy praises Lizzy for changing him just once that too matter of factly. Not like a bhakt chanting his favourite mantra. Also Lizzy could be given the credit for changing him. But here Jo was the one who needed to be changed. So the credit Sounds jarring. So while the former Sounds gallant the latter sounds Sickening

There is no comparing Elizabeth and Jo. while Elizabeth admits to her faults her preJudice and ponders over how wrong she was too, our Jodha Begum is above anything wrong and is ever right. Even in the last episode she was totally Convinced that she was fully right in pulling the gunpowder out of the rifle as she did it to save the 'Niraparadh'😡

If at all the CVs intended to lift from P&P even the framework or basic idea, the net result looks like medicore imitation jewelry.

Thanks everyone for all your comments- it truly was a very random musing ... That there were hints of themes from novels that I read. I am not saying it is a complete parallel nor am I saying the CVs have executed correctly ...
I will respond to your comments in the AM

Yes you are right as I too am a fan of Jane Austin and I even visited her house last August 😊
There are similarities yes with the characters in P&P and also with Kasamh Se I thought... the evil one is the same so and so in both JA and KS you see😆

Flag, (it feels strange addressing you so)
There is something utterly charming about the two birds in your dp. Love it.😊

I read this book long time back(it ws thick book indeed which thoroughly kept me on edges) n still i cudnt overcome it 😆.
The line Mr bingley said "miss elizebeth is the most agreeable woman indeed, to which MR Darcy answered "she is not handsome enuf to tempt me "😆 WOW !! i remember one scene abdul says to jalal y dont u get her n he answered "uski aaukaat badh jayengi .it sunded very much familiar ...

Shivani elopement matches with lydia wickham truely said 👏. Mr Darcy says "u shud know , shud know that i have done all this for u " believe di i fainted wen he said this line ...☺️
Di i watched this novel as a movie as of now 3 times n intend to watch it again n again 😳

As Shyamla Aunty said jo has been protrayed shallow so she doesnt come close to elizabeth ..she introspects herself ,retropects herself too but we cant expects such things from our heroine 😭

I had a hunch I would find other Pride and Prejudice fans here :)

Yes,the comment of Darcy on Liz is quite striking - also, later Darcy said that he fell for her "liveliness of mind" and Liz corrected it as impertinance - Did Jalal not love Jodha's impertinace?

I mean overall the transformation of Darcy has some similarities to Jalal- don't we all love the arrogant man with a good heart changed by his love ?

Jodha started off with similarly misfounded prejudices against Jalal- but the CVs did not focus on her journey at all.

I some how feel colonel brandons character (I knw colonel brandon is a bit old ) is similiar to mirza hakim as portrayed in the show ... mirza though very young is shown so matured & composed after the shivani incident ... he handled the fiasco so well mannerly ...

Thanks! I am also a big pankha of Austen though I am not as familiar with Sense and Sensibility!

I wish Jalal had a mature , composed friend to lean on. Todarmal maybe? 😆 I always end up with Todarmal somehow.

Agrees, but it is obvious they refer to books to script scenes so might as well give them relevant ones to look at

Agreed the execution was poor - but again it was more the concept of a sister's elopement and the role in the love story ...

Again Darcy praises Lizzy for changing him just once that too matter of factly. Not like a bhakt chanting his favourite mantra. Also Lizzy could be given the credit for changing him. Maybe the CVs hit copy and paste multiple times by mistake 😆... I always felt Darcy was a bit emphatic there .. But yes, Jalal is too emphatic multiple times

There is no comparing Elizabeth and Jo. while Elizabeth admits to her faults her preJudice and ponders over how wrong she was too, our Jodha Begum is above anything wrong and is ever right. I am not comparing Liz with Jo at all ... Except the starting point of prejudice was the same ... Then there was no reflection, retrospection, or progress since

If at all the CVs intended to lift from P&P even the framework or basic idea, the net result looks like medicore imitation jewelry.

I think if anything they steal scenes and ideas ... And the result is imitation jewerly
