So do I, Divya, that was one fabulous sequence - a woman truck driver! - and a fabulous song. I have seen Mita Vasisht in arthouse films - she is of the Smita Patil school in both looks and acting. She is a very strong performer, and she does not lapse into hamming the way Ashwini tends to do.

As for Jalal being dependent on this wife, why, after he said Jodha Begum ke rahmokaram se hum sahi salamat hain.. there was nothing more to be said, was there?

If I had been Ruqaiya, I would have clouted him one good and proper as he was gushing to her about Jodha Begum being the equal of a whole fauj and how if he had been her enemy, he would have been disposed of pronto. It was embarassing, this untrammelled outpouring of praise and admiration, without the least idea of how the listener would react to it. But then that is a man all over.

BTW whenever I think of Mita Vashisht I remember Subha Mudgal's song Mann Ke Manjeere that she came in; now that is about women's empowerment

I am excited about Mita's entry!

Yes, that song captured the true essence of self-respect, standing up to true atrocities, and self - sufficiency. I am very excited about Mita's entry.

Though Jalal receives no praise, how could have Jodha have saved him if he didn't have the dagger, fought with a few enemies to gain swords, freed her, and caught her 😆 Poor guy, he just has no one to praise him ...

If anything , it is an indication that he needs a new army ... And the way his soldiers have failed of late ... Think this might be true 😉😆

More than Ruqaiyya, JODHA FOR ONCE looked totally embarrassed. 😆 😆

Also, I thought Jalal was terribly insensitive.
Gushing silly about Jodha in front of his childhood friend who he was ecstatic with happiness when he was told that sjes pregnant with his child.

It was silly & Jodha sensed that.

Jalal is losing his head in Love!

The earJalal would never have been this insensitive. 😭

Trips, he is in love and people do lot of dumb things in love, and it doesn't matter he is an Emperor and we shouldn't forget that Ruq's herself said that she has let go her animosity with Jodha and she herself praised Jodha and except for Salima everyone believes that Ruq's had a change of heart. So, u can't say he was insensitive

Agreed- I know Jalal's praise for Jodha can get repetitive but I think tv viewers love it

I also think the point of this scene will be to show Ruqs how badly she has failed in separating them- the praise of Jodha is a secondary point

What we also don't know is what prompted the comment- she could have said something like your life always gets in danger when you go out with Jodha Begum.

Let's wait for the whole scene to telecast :)

On the whole, I would agree with my dear Tripti, which is why I wrote above "It was embarassing, this untrammelled outpouring of praise and admiration, without the least idea of how the listener would react to it. But then that is a man all over".

Ruqaiya might well have said what Divya surmises she might have, still this was too much. The same with his comment to Hamida outside the palace Jodha Begum ke rahmokaram se hum sahi salamat hain.

But we will simply have to get used to this sort of thing, for we are going to get more and more of it " because the TV viewers love it". Just as they loved KSBKBT for 8 long years, I am told.

I would not be surprised if, given enough of such lavish praise of Jodha from Jalal in every episode, they love Jodha Akbar for another 7 years as well.

An alarming prospect!😉 After 8 years of mouthing such inanities, poor Rajat will be good for nothing else.

To Jalal's dialogue I wanted to ask him, how would have Jodha saved you if you didn't get her out of the net? It is fine to praise her ... I don't know why the dialogue writers want him to give all the credit to her at least in dialogues if not in action

Let's hope Ekta doesn't drag us through the full 7 years to Salim'a birth ... After all, she invented the convenient thing called a leap!
