It's not like I could not come up with a take 5 for today ... Here it is:
Take 5 for today
(1) Jalal- Atgah's bonding and finally Jalal talks politics ... There was a lot of symbolism to the sword fight yesterday ... It was just not a filler lollipop. 👏
(2) Salima the Genius: Loved how she packed both Jodha and Jalal out of the palace 👏
(3) Jalal closing Jodha's mouth to end the debate on both going to the mandir ... Efficiently well done! 😉
(4) Jalal the romantic ... Going back to his favorite hobby ... Holding Jodha's hands ... And even went to holding her shoulder in the temple ... 😳😉
(5) The exchange of wishes ... While Jodha's was sincere and focuses on the child and reflects her character to the T ... Loved how Jalal came forward with a husky voice and referred to his tang karna and their mohabhat and saath in his wish ... No wonder he always wanted to share his wishes with Jodha! 😳
Precap, once again proves the inefficiency of Mughal soldiers! CVs are extremely consistent on this front! 😆
Special take 5 for my 5000th post:
But, for my 5000th post I wanted to do something special ... Zoom out on the things I like about the Jodha Akbar serial till date. While I nit-pick on things that are comical and silly off late, there is a reason I am addicted to the show and this post is about that.
This take is a mix of the serial, music, and my own interpretations ... Hope you enjoy.
Here is how it works ... Each take is a song that sets the mood / theme and then I have an interpretation of what the song means to Jodha and Jalal looking back at their journey so far. You will see what I mean.
Here goes with the take:
(1) "Taare Hai Baaraati ... Chandni Hai Yeh Baarat ... Saathon Phere Honge Ab Haathon Mein Leke Haath" (Movie: Virasat) ...
(Translation: The stars and the moon are the wedding procession ... We will take saath phere together hand-in-hand ... )
Jodha: The stars and moon must have congregated to witness our wedding ... As it was such a momentous occassion that changed not only our lives but the course of history.
Little did I know when I saw your face in shock during the muh dhikaayi ... I would one day burst out in smiles seeing that very face.
When I hesitated to hold your hand for the kanyadaan, I did not know that one day I would love that very saath and seek it out.
When I proclaimed my good fortune in attaining you my husband, I never thought those words would come true but they did.
What I thought was a wedding that would be meaningless, became one that would remembered for hundreds of years to come.
(2) " Kismat se tum humko mile ho ... Kaise chodenge yeh haath" Movie: Pukar)
In translation : It is my good fortune I have gotten you in my life ... How will I leave this hand.
Jalal: When I first held your hand during the wedding, my hands trembled ... Little did I know why.
I felt like I was winning something significant... And I thought it was my biggest victory to win your hand ... But no, my biggest victory would be to win your love.
I always loved holding your hand ... At first it was to tease you- whether when you first gave me aarti or during Sukanya's wedding ...
But, soon those hands meant much more ... I realized what holding your hand meant to me when you were on death's door ... And I held that hand to stop your soul from leaving this world and my life in darkness.
And, when I took your hand, and welcomed you back to Agra after our misunderstanding, I knew I would never leave that hand again.
(3) "Chanda re Chanda Re kabhi to zameen par aa" (Movie: Sapnay)
Translation: Oh Moon, at some point grace the Earth with your presence.
Jodha: The moon has been a witness of our love story from the start ... Every step of our journey,
The moon witnessed our nok jhok en route to Amer for Sukanya's wedding ... when you insisted on taking me on the boat ride ... You wanted to start a conversation with me ... But I was hesitant.
Then, the moon witnessed our blooming friendship ... our first friendly midnight chat ... Where it was like I could not stop talking to you as we laughed talking about verses, hunars, and passed the night away.
And the moon was the biggest witness of our growing love ... I had just recovered from Benezir's poison and wanted to go for a night stroll ... Our hands may not have touched but our hearts touched during that night.
The moon was my greatest confidante, when I was eagerly waiting to return back to Agra to be reunited with you forever.
And the moon was a witness of when we were forever united in love.
(4) "Khamoshiyan Gungunane Lagi ... Tanhaiyaan muskuraane lage" (Movie: One 2 ka 4)
Translation: Silence started singing ... Loneliness started smiling
Jalal: Silence was our strongest language ... We did not need words to realize that there was something magnetic attracting us to each other.
When I saw your face in the reflection in the Gangaur pooja, I instantly knew there was a connect ... Something that bonded us together. I believe you did too. We didn't speak a word and yet our journey began.
We did not need words to tease each other during Sukanya's wedding ... We both knew what was in each other's minds.
Our love reached new heights when silence was enough to feel it ... That beautiful evening in the Angoori Bhaag ..when we went to a night stroll. We did not speak our hearts out but we knew there was growing love in both our hearts.
There was one time I could not read your silence ... And I regret it. But, now our love and trust needs no words.
(5) "Maang ke saath tumhaare, maang liya sansaar" (Movie: Naya Daur)
Translation: Wishing for your companionship, I have wished for the whole world
Jodha: The divine has had the greatest role in our journey ... Little did I know that when I told Devi Maa I would bring your head to her feet, it would be our heads bowing down together in front of her as husband and wife. But, that is how it was meant to be.
After our wedding, it was the little moments, doing the Aarti and while praying in front of Kanha, that brought us together in the most unexpected ways.
When we went to Ajmer for the first time together, my duaa was to teach you a lesson... But, what started was a lesson in love for both of us.
When you gifted me the Kanha's mor pankh (peacock feather) and flute ... I understood you were beginning to understand me ... And I began to understand you.
It was the strength of God that gave me the courage to save you from the clutches of death of Benezir.
It was in front of the Almighty that you confessed your love for me ... And it pulled my Soul back from the doors of death.
It was at Sikhri, that I could feel the love in your duaa when you asked that we be together forever.
And when I returned back to Agra, we sat truly as husband and wife to do the staapna of Kanha's murthy and I knew that our saath was now unbreakable.
Hope you liked it guys! It was something I wanted to write for a long time.
Please leave me a like / comments, it is your love and support that have helped me go these 5000 posts!
