Will give Details later. The info about number of wives is hugely inflated along with some wrong additions too in the Internet "List" . 😕 Till then, answered this here.😊

Thank u Abhay for taking the time out to reply. I would love to see ur research on this. As for the age of jodha well I always wondered how was it that she managed to remain unmarried at a time when girls were married off at 16 or younger. Ur info answers that question. It must have been so hard for her to adjust to such a different atmosphere in Agra at such a young age. She must have been so lonely.

Salim,+Nurjaha, = How many Kids.

Is khurram, Or i think, khussaro, was same.

Shahajaha, name was, Khurram.

Ayushi,

'Naulakha' was a Rajputana ornament as far as i know. And, i have not read about this ornament's association with any other queen, except HK's case.

Salim/Jahangir and Nur Jahan had no child.

Khurram was given the title of Shah Jahan(meaning Lord of the World), by Jahangir in 1617, after his victory over the Lodi's of Deccan.

Khusrau was eldest son on Jahangir, not to be confused with Khurram. 😊

Thank you again Abhay😊...Acknowledge/appreciate your efforts for digging actual info/posting/sharing it us and also responding to our queries...The post clarified a lot many things.😃

PS: That also means MUZ delivered her last child Aarm Banu at around 38 years of age and not 42...That means Akbar was 42 year old then😊 ...That also means you must have silently enjoyed the comments/discussions regarding MUZ delivering at 42😉😆...Thanks again!😃

Pallavi, the point which was given prominence was the Medical Possibility of such births. > That is, if it's possible to conceive at 42, or other case.?. Amidst all that, no one really pointed out what was the age of the mother at the time of birth. 😉 And Since, no one asked hence, the discussion began on the "Medical possibilties". 😃 History was NOT in Question that time. 😉

Anyways, one thing still holds is that 42 is NOT an old age, for that matter, this era or that era. Tamy, Nabiii, Cleo, Neha, Minnie, Tabassum, Putija and other friends have shared some cases.

BTW, if Still, the " Report of 2014 Medical Research Team " 😉 for research on bygone era, is required.. >> Then, Here are some suggested readings. 😃

1.
Indian Journal of Pediatrics(many issues are present), [ For infant mortality ]

2.
Medicine & Medical Policies, India: Social & Historical Perspectives
Poonam Bala (Lexington Books, Pub. 2007)

3.
History of Medicine, India: Medical Encounter
Edited by Chitabrata and Achintya Kumar Dutta,(Kalpaz publications)

4.
Mentioning this case of Plastic Surgery, here due to a 'Special reason'. 😉

We have a case of " plastic surgery "😉 being done on wounded soldiers, in the Mughal Era in Deccan Wars.

An article was published establishing the above info in the Economic and Political Weekly (a famous and highly reputed magazine in India). > Volume 38, Number 5, Issue: February 1-7, 2003, Page 452.

Following is about India's contribution to the Plastic Surgery. Here is the Link of Press Information Bureau Portal of Government of India. Plastic surgery was done by an Indian surgeon, Sushruta, around 600 BC (more than 2600 years back.!!!.), on a bleeding nose.!!. And, his method was similar to what the Italian and later French texts wrote in 16th Century.

Very interesting and short article, mentions Tipu Sultan's Mysore War also. >> http://pib.nic.in/feature/fe0299/f0602991.html

Hi, Abhay, loved ur post regarding Akbar-MUZ kids n huge appriciation followed that.Sorry, I am late in commenting, but ur post had me deported 450 years back in time. I witnessed Ak-MuZ's joy n sorrow, sobbing when they lost their infants 😭 n took part in jashn😆 at the birth of Salim.( (and history-geek let me assure u, it wasn't scarry at all😆 )Tears rolled down when I saw Akbar realising his dream of playing with his own children, pampering his daughters, while Muz(as u like to call her always) stood there, complaining their mischiefs😛. History-geek, u must see to believe what amount of joy, calmness, n gratitude shone Akbar's face😊surrouded by these children, teaching them talwarbazi n all.aftrer losing so many children. That too all of them frm his most beloved👏😉 queen.it was really a heartwarming journey.I came back frm that era, only to read more of ur posts to know aagey ki kahani.😆 Before I read ur post thouroghly ( I had read it once hurriedly to compare with the posts on the other thread ) i was like confused😕n depressed😔 n watching the serial thinking it's all bakwas with angst in some corner of my mind as I thought Akbar ran into the arms of other women😡 n also had children frm them.(due to other posts ) I cannot thank enough you, n ur team fr renewing the interest in the story. Heartfelt thanks for, u, kDR81, Lizzy, all those who were involved in this reseach directly, or indirectly.Special thanks to all the forum members who encouraged u all to take up this tedious task. My thanks also to the soul of Abu'l Fazl, Badayuni, also to authors of all the books u people reffered.👍🏼🤗And also Tamy ofcourse.👏
Having said that as always ,I wanted to know, the actual urdu word fr Matrix of sun of fortune as much beauty is diluted in translating this into English. Also there is a huge gap between the birth of last child Aaram bano n the secondlast child of Ak-Jo, nearly 10 years. Though I myself have posted the medical reasons fr not having child, I would like to know was there any particular reason fr seperation😆which may be in the chronicles. There r other words also whose meanigs I would like to know but i hv to go back to ur post, read them again which I anyway love to do😃 ask them as n when they occure.Thanx.

But Jahangir didn't get a bit gud quality frm his father how to b a nice father.
Thanx abhay for giving this information.

I had been to Khusrau baug i don't remember where exactly is i😕Hearing praise of Khusrau frm one and all, i think there is great need of research on his life as well and why not a serial also😃 an ode to his love for his wife as I hv learnt that he refused to marry nurjahan's daughter because of love fr hiis wife which drew her wrath on himself.😲😡

in those days people used to hv as many children as they cud fr obvious reasons.😆it was no issue at all at least fr the king. The child survival rate was also a main reason. My mother tells me that her mother n sister both were pregnant at the same time. Therefore her mother's last child n sister's first one r of same age. My mother -in- law also used to tell me how she cudn't go to her maika fr delivery as her mother was also due fr delivery at that time😆 If this is the case in 19th century, then what to say abt 16th centy?

hence, they r still remembered and adored like no other couple.

Well said tamy267, ak-jo story may be prevailant in Rajasthan, we don't know, but the movie, the serial, n top of it the reseach team by their hardwork, inquisitiveness, n Abhay thru his posting full of charm have made this love story immortal. If I am not mistaken, it will be a big boost to the tourism also, as everybody will want to visit these places, the Rangmahal, FS n revisit that era.
