Hi! How can Jalal be still emotional about Mahamanga ...this is one thing I really find it difficult to understand. The way she spoke to him on wed and he knows she has no regret for whatever she has done. She certainly doesn't deserve his tears or his emotions.
Emotions are the involuntary feature of human behaviour; they happen to us. They are beyond the scope of the philosophy of action.
But "emotion regulation" is important, as it helps us to solve our social & personal problems. This is where "emotional intelligence" comes into the picture.
Emotional intelligence (EI) can be defined as the ability to monitor one's own and other people's emotions, to discriminate between different emotions and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior.
Jalal cannot be blamed for being "emotional" about MA...at least not at this stage, when he only knows of her one betrayal: it is "happening" to him involuntarily, because he was so emotionally attached to her since childhood & trusted her above all. In fact, he may never stop being "emotional" about MA.
His "emotion regulation" starts now, & by the end of the MA track, we shall see his "emotional intelligence" taking over & doing complete justice by punishing the evil MA.
He went on to become Akbar-The Great, despite such huge setbacks of BK & MA's betrayals so early on in life. This is suggestive of a very high EI.
(If only ...our emotions too had on/off switches like our actions!! 😊)
