Radhika - please do not be a silent reader. You are my bouncer of ideas and venting friend! I am so eager to read your post every night.

I enjoyed reading both views,

I also want to see Jalal and Jodha like Cleo wrote. 😃

However I am afraid I am going to get the Jalal and Jodha like you wrote! 😆

Just hope Jodha stops giving vachans and Jalal becomes more firm and fair and less forgiving!

Maddy,

There is also a third line of thinking that I mistakenly left out - that of the CVs. This line of thinking is neither idealistic nor consistent with past behavior patterns.

It is highly unpredictable, impulsive, spontaneous, spur of the moment thinking. 😊

Radhika, you are right, this 3rd line of thinking is what we are most likely to get 😆

I have taken a decision not to make any comments for a few days and to be a silent reader because the same thing is being said over and over again. I had to make an exception in your case because you are such a sweet friend. 😊

There is an idealistic thinking and a realistic thinking. Your post falls in the former category. Many people feel like you do and my idealistic side of the brain agrees completely. Yes, Ruq and MA should be punished appropriately. And even Sujamal should have been made to answer for his acts and sent to jail again. Because he was also a proclaimed offender and on top of that he also trespassed into the palace under a false identity.

But I also have a realistic thinking side to me that studies behavior patterns in past and tries to predict future scenarios based on that. This tells me that Jalal will punish MA this time (the extent remains to be seen - whether he merely divests her of her power and titles or banishes her). But he will not do anything about Ruqaiyya. Of course, if he follows the BB precedent in the Ruq case, he may give her some form of symbolic punishment/censure.

To be happy in life, I prefer to use my realistic thinking and put my idealistic thinking to bed. 😉 Whether it is JA or my personal life. It is good for my cardiovascular and nervous systems. But I understand, each to his own. So I am not imposing my views on anyone. 😆

@Radhika, thanks for responding to my post...Your views are valuable to me and the forum.😊 If you dont get a chance to respond or want to take a break from the forum...it is understandable...we all go through all this...so dont feel bad for not being able to respond to posts written by friends...despite my best efforts, I cant get to all the posts I would like to respond to

First, I want to make sure that I understand the reason behind your conclusion about my thinking as Idealistic thinking and yours as realist thinking. I am wondering if you are using Harrison and Branson's model of five thinking styles here.Since, I am not an expert on that, so please help me understand if you get a chance. PM me if you feel that the discussion will get too technical or involves discussing any personal experience...based on my humble understanding of various thinking styles, I try my best to not put any side of my thinking to bed... To me, Idealistic is just as important as realistic.

here is a quote from your response

But I also have a realistic thinking side to me that studies behavior patterns in past and tries to predict future scenarios based on that. This tells me that Jalal will punish MA this time (the extent remains to be seen - whether he merely divests her of her power and titles or banishes her). But he will not do anything about Ruqaiyya

Based on this quote, I think that I too used realistic thinking as defined by you, in my post...You studied the behavior patterns of show characters...I studied the behavior pattern of CVs...and in my opinion, the behavior pattern of CVs is more consistent than the characters. Their obsession with MA character has remained unchanged since the beginning of the show and their behavior of dragging tracks is not new either.

I'll stay away from thinking styles for now and focus on Jodha Akbar and make another attempt to explain the purpose of my previous post as I get a feeling that I somehow failed to to express my views properly in the first attempt...thus leading to this confusion about thinking. I didn't use a soft descriptive style but and focussed on dismissing the reasons that can be used to by CVs to justify that scary scenario. Didn't work I guess So here is the purpose of my previous post ...

1. I addressed a scenario a lot of us secretly consider a nightmare and how a viewer like me will perceive it if CVs decide to show it.

2. Is there a realistic possibility that this nightmare scenario may turn into an actual scenario on the show? None of us knows for sure ...but it sure is scary enough to have so many forum members write about it...If it happens, how will CVs explain it to the viewers? ...Most likely..Jodha's compassionate nature and Jalal's love for his Badi Ammi will be used as an excuse so MA stays on for a few more months...I am unable to think of too many excuses that can be used here...unless they come up with something innovative like Lakhi part 2. 😕 I believe that using compassion or forgiveness as a reason would be highly inappropriate in this scenario and butcher Jodha's character like never before...Jalal's too if he does not ask Jodha about her past experiences with MA and decides to go along with the emotional decision without using his own judgement.

3. Why do I think that the virtue of forgiveness (drilled in our brains since the day we are born) is not superior to the virtue of justice? I gave reasons for that... not everyone tries to read between the lines but my post is also a preemptive attempt to explana of Jodha's action if she refuses to forgive MA( if given a chance) ... not just Agrawaasis like Ruks but some viewers may also question her stand based on ... .Why did she cause more pain to Jalal by not forgiving the person so dear to to him after seeing a teary eyed Jalal?.she did forgive BB and SD in the past..why not MA? Did she fail to see how broken he ? He forgave Sujamal, why didn't she return the favor? My take...just because she was proven wrong in the past does not mean that she has to continue making the same mistake...certainly not in MA's case... And Sujamal earned what he got by putting his life on line for Jalal...twice. MA didn't do Jodha any such favors.

4. Further supporting that stand (the optimist in me refuses to give up and I think MA's end is near...and thus Jo will be facing all these questions soon)... Why the sense of justice is just as important as compassion when we take decisions that affect the welfare of other people. It is okay to not feel compassion for a criminal( MA) or suppress compassion for the loved ones of the criminal (Jalal in this case)...because the criminal can be threat to other innocent lives in future.,,,,that needs to be taken into account as well.

5. Why is it okay to question Rukaiya this time? ... This is a deliberate repeat offense not a first innocent mistake. This is also my attempt to pre emptively explain Jalal's stand if he questions Rukaiya in DEK...Afterall, she is seen as a loving and loyal wife of Jalal by many ...(though I am not too optimistic on this front...too much drama for one track...so they'll use it for future tracks) But if it does happen, Jalal will be justified in doing it ... Because this is not about taking sides...this is about justice.

hope this explains my thinking better😊

😕You are not the only one pissed off.
I cannot get Jodha. Jalal left the palace and
his family to go chase after Jodha. She is
SO ARROGANT that it makes me sick!!
She can stay at her maike for all I care.

Hey friends,

Suddenly a few thoughts came to my mind.

1. Suppose that Jodha returns to Agra and tells that she returned for Jalal's mother or Shivani, then wouldn't this bring awkwardness in their relationship? Wouldn't Jalal feel rejected once again? So I think Jodha should return only when she is ready to confess her love openly otherwise there is no scope for romance/SR. Whenever she comes, I want her to leave everything behind and make a fresh start.

2. After the Benazir track, Jalal repented for not believing Jodha but he did not repent for all the public humiliations he gave her. He still thinks that whatever he did was justified since Jodha too had humiliated him by giving dhakka. Even when he came to Jodha's hojra in drunk state, he could not forget about the dhakka night. That's why I feel the paigam truth is necessary for Jalal to understand that Jodha was not ready for him at that time and her dhakka was not complete rejection.

What are your views about this?

I want to add

Jalal pardon Sujamal -
Before the fight in the forest where Sujamal saved Jalal's life he had a farman on his life. Jajal did not know of Sujamal saving him in the Jashan and even after Sujamal came in haram and caused deaths of Mugal soldiers pardoning of Sujamal after saving Jalal's life was a correct decision.

i think Sujamal is such a tragic figure maybe his life's purpose was only to bring together Jodha and Jalal. Just imagine if he had not caused the war on Amer with SD then Jodha Jalal marriage might not have happened! Maybe Sujamal life was meant to save Jalal from SD and that is why he pardoned SD before!

Thanks for explaining how Sujamal's case is different from the other people I mentioned in my previous post MA, Ruk, SD, BB and Shivani...The biggest difference is they broke rules for their selfish motive.

1. He broke Mughal rules by entering the Harem...but his motive was selfless. He wanted to save a life and not hurt anyone by his actions... Any lawyers here?...Isnt motive the most important factor to be considered during trial or sentencing of an accused in any court of law...Moral court included.

2. A person's good behavior is always kept into consideration before deciding the punishment. He saved Jalal's life twice for God sake...the second time he clearly put his own life in danger by taking an arrow for him...Easy for us to dismiss this, but no one really likes dying...he has a family and a goal he is fighting for...it is not that his life means nothing to him or his wife, kids, soldiers and friends...and sister Jodha...it is ok for him to put his life on line for Jalal but not ok that he didn't follow the Harem rule book...also after talking to him after the jungle scene, Jalal was smart enough to know that it could not have been Sujamal who was responsible for peeth ke peeche waar' which is probably what made him issue to farman in first place...As far as punishing him for his victory over Mewat...that needs to be avenged in the battlefield...per 16th century battle principles which Jalal also believes in following .

3. Good that Jalal didnt kill or imprison him...he'll save Jalal's life one more time (right Abhay?)

He is one character on the show for whom my views have remained unchanged from day one and I did read other POVs to see if I was in some way wrong in interpreting his actions...so far I maintain my stand...Not even Jodha and Jalal, my favorite characters have been able to achieve that status in my mind😉 I have changed my opinion after reading other POVs.😊

Most of the events Jo had to suffer trace back to MA's involvement in some form or another. I am curious to see how CVs choose to expose her and in which order. The misread letter which led to dhakka is a big one, obviously.

Also curious to see how much Jalal will learn about MA's hand in the deaths of his own children as well as BK, Zaheer, etc.
