@Radhika, thanks for responding to my post...Your views are valuable to me and the forum.😊 If you dont get a chance to respond or want to take a break from the forum...it is understandable...we all go through all this...so dont feel bad for not being able to respond to posts written by friends...despite my best efforts, I cant get to all the posts I would like to respond to
First, I want to make sure that I understand the reason behind your conclusion about my thinking as Idealistic thinking and yours as realist thinking. I am wondering if you are using Harrison and Branson's model of five thinking styles here.Since, I am not an expert on that, so please help me understand if you get a chance. PM me if you feel that the discussion will get too technical or involves discussing any personal experience...based on my humble understanding of various thinking styles, I try my best to not put any side of my thinking to bed... To me, Idealistic is just as important as realistic.
here is a quote from your response
But I also have a realistic thinking side to me that studies behavior patterns in past and tries to predict future scenarios based on that. This tells me that Jalal will punish MA this time (the extent remains to be seen - whether he merely divests her of her power and titles or banishes her). But he will not do anything about Ruqaiyya
Based on this quote, I think that I too used realistic thinking as defined by you, in my post...You studied the behavior patterns of show characters...I studied the behavior pattern of CVs...and in my opinion, the behavior pattern of CVs is more consistent than the characters. Their obsession with MA character has remained unchanged since the beginning of the show and their behavior of dragging tracks is not new either.
I'll stay away from thinking styles for now and focus on Jodha Akbar and make another attempt to explain the purpose of my previous post as I get a feeling that I somehow failed to to express my views properly in the first attempt...thus leading to this confusion about thinking. I didn't use a soft descriptive style but and focussed on dismissing the reasons that can be used to by CVs to justify that scary scenario. Didn't work I guess So here is the purpose of my previous post ...
1. I addressed a scenario a lot of us secretly consider a nightmare and how a viewer like me will perceive it if CVs decide to show it.
2. Is there a realistic possibility that this nightmare scenario may turn into an actual scenario on the show? None of us knows for sure ...but it sure is scary enough to have so many forum members write about it...If it happens, how will CVs explain it to the viewers? ...Most likely..Jodha's compassionate nature and Jalal's love for his Badi Ammi will be used as an excuse so MA stays on for a few more months...I am unable to think of too many excuses that can be used here...unless they come up with something innovative like Lakhi part 2. 😕 I believe that using compassion or forgiveness as a reason would be highly inappropriate in this scenario and butcher Jodha's character like never before...Jalal's too if he does not ask Jodha about her past experiences with MA and decides to go along with the emotional decision without using his own judgement.
3. Why do I think that the virtue of forgiveness (drilled in our brains since the day we are born) is not superior to the virtue of justice? I gave reasons for that... not everyone tries to read between the lines but my post is also a preemptive attempt to explana of Jodha's action if she refuses to forgive MA( if given a chance) ... not just Agrawaasis like Ruks but some viewers may also question her stand based on ... .Why did she cause more pain to Jalal by not forgiving the person so dear to to him after seeing a teary eyed Jalal?.she did forgive BB and SD in the past..why not MA? Did she fail to see how broken he ? He forgave Sujamal, why didn't she return the favor? My take...just because she was proven wrong in the past does not mean that she has to continue making the same mistake...certainly not in MA's case... And Sujamal earned what he got by putting his life on line for Jalal...twice. MA didn't do Jodha any such favors.
4. Further supporting that stand (the optimist in me refuses to give up and I think MA's end is near...and thus Jo will be facing all these questions soon)... Why the sense of justice is just as important as compassion when we take decisions that affect the welfare of other people. It is okay to not feel compassion for a criminal( MA) or suppress compassion for the loved ones of the criminal (Jalal in this case)...because the criminal can be threat to other innocent lives in future.,,,,that needs to be taken into account as well.
5. Why is it okay to question Rukaiya this time? ... This is a deliberate repeat offense not a first innocent mistake. This is also my attempt to pre emptively explain Jalal's stand if he questions Rukaiya in DEK...Afterall, she is seen as a loving and loyal wife of Jalal by many ...(though I am not too optimistic on this front...too much drama for one track...so they'll use it for future tracks) But if it does happen, Jalal will be justified in doing it ... Because this is not about taking sides...this is about justice.
hope this explains my thinking better😊
