Watching Rajat Tokas play his part as Akbar is indeed such a pleasure! Watching those episodes again and again, I realize that our Jallal has cried and shed more tears than Jodha, actually.
Last week's episode in which Akbar is heartbroken over Jodha's suspected infidelity, is presented with such pathos and such fine dialogue that Rajat Tokas's superb acting reminds me of such unforgettable characters like Hamlet and Othello and Dr. Faustus (a 16th century play written by Christopher Marlow), and the psychological traumas presented in the great speeches of those characters.
Jodha says that her husband must have had faith in her action. Pathni par vishwas karna sab kuch hota hai'. Then we wouldn't have had such shocking stories to see on Crime Patrol' that comes on Sony channel. Cuckoldry has existed since time immemorial. It is not a recent development. In such a case, how can one expect Jallal to keep his peace without questioning her action? The lengthy speech in which he admits his mohabbat', the sudden drop of his frenzied expression to an exhausted countenance, the laugh which crowns his pathos, all highlights and underlines the mental trauma that Jallal undergoes, so excellently to the point that it becomes explicit that his heart has broken into fragments with such poor trust that Jodha has laid in him.
Hats off to Rajat Tokas for rendering the role with such elan and the dialogue with such excellent flow and force.
