Aunty, I agree. I too, was NOT at all happy with the content of the letter, in particular, n also the way in which Jalal almost fell near Moti's feet 😆
I have heard of Ekta's Tulsi & Parvati characters from my mil...self righteous, excellent extempore capabilities, & self proclaimed "Mrs. ALWAYS Right"...who are inexplicably, wives of "Mr. ALWAYS Wrong" 😆...

...I wonder who EK wishes to model Maharani Jodha on?!...Tulsi or Parvati??...or are both the same?? 😉

Aunty, great post !
Jodha was a let down yday, I did not like her running away and wandering all alone leaving everyone @ palace worried about her. When 21st century is not safe for any women then I wonder what was she thinking when she stepped out of the palace. Truth is, nobody except Mainawati and Bharmal have ever stopped her from behaving like an immature child, I still remember how BM scolded her when she asked him to change his decision of her marriage to Surya for the sake of Sukanya. It was illogical and impossible for an King to do ! BM was a shrewd King and paid little heed to Jodha's laments. But here in Agra, Jalal, HB and gang never tried to make her realise her mistakes, they not even think she can be wrong! And when Jalal does, he has to ultimately pay the price by crying buckets and apologizing to her. Jodha is too stubborn and too headstrong to realise on her own, she is not Jalal, not even close to him. She needs the scolding, people need to sit down with her and put sense into her. She simply cannot change ! I was too upset @ her letter but later realised this is what she is ! Except Sikri track, Jodha has never been a woman who accepts her mistakes on her own and tries not to repeat them or tries to make an effort to resolve the situation! so expecting anything from her any soon is nothing but banging our head against a wall. Someone rightly said in your last post, her every problems are always solved by either Jalal or her near and dear ones.
Her letter was more like a lifelong punishment for Jalal ! It proved how shallow she is, Jalal's outburst, his trusting her despite of all the proofs against her meant nothing. I wish at least this time Jalal when finds her points out her faults and the mess she and her brother created.

Shyamala, gr8 take on that letter. And yes my TE is at fault for letting this Jodha get away with murder - but then he has reached that point of Love where it is no longer an exchange for him, so I will forgive him.

But yesterday was a big big letdown from Jodha angle. That letter was the worst ever manhandling of Jodha's characterization till date!!!

I am an only child and a girl. I was brought up by my parents as an individual - there was never a gendered angle in our home - and there is none even today - I was brought up with liberal views which were about equal rights, equal opportunity and equal duties - I imbibed the thinking that gender is only a social construct and in individual interactions, individual perspectives need to be understood along with the social - I was brought up to be empathetic - I cannot understand this brand of feminism nor can I approve of it.
What was conveyed yesterday was blatantly one sided - that a woman can never do any wrong and the man has to trust her blindly under all circumstances, but a woman will not give the same trust to the man becoz he is incapable of being true!!! If this is not inequality, I do not know what is!!!

Once salima had said to jodha tht there is no right or wrong in love. When u love anyone u can do anything for ur love. Nd jodha told the same to jalal. So just like BB ignores all the faults of Sharif, jalal is doing the same. We can argue why jalal loves jodha but the truth remains tht love can happen anywhere. Jalal's love is unconditional nd thts why he always sets her free nd takes all the blames. Unfortunately jodha's love will never be unconditional. Yes she can risk her for him, she can cook for him nd can give him gud advices as well but she demands many things in return. She expects jalal to blindlytrust her even if its without any logic. But she never wants to understand his point of view.

Thank you for the PM.
Jodha was a big let down yst'day...not even one line of remorse for her own deed. How conveniently she twisted marital vows as per her own benefit? 😡 Well I don't know much about vivaah-vachans...though am married, but who crams it like course books 😉...doesn't one vows include that husband is of top priority and would not hide things from husband??? Please enlighten me!!
Now just one last hope is that, since she's out of palace, Jodha would get some fresh air for her brains and think straight...retrospect about coming of the whole past situation.
And what she said, prem ka kamal...if love would have been so easily destroyed, and forgotten, then there would have never been a Radha-Kanha epic love story...she is a Kanha bhakt???? For Kanha sake...should learn and know more about him than just complaining to him 😕
Here, am caught between Jodha devi's pure love and Jallad's pure lust morons ...I mean REALLYYY????😲😲😡 😡

Thank u so much for the pm... 😊

She pontificates about the vivah ke vachan, and selectively accuses Jalal of forgetting the one that he has to trust his wife under all circumstances. I have never heard of any such vachan. The man promises to provide for and protect the wife; he does not give her a blank cheque for all time to come to behave as she likes.

Which vivah ke vachan has she honoured? Did she trust her husband when he said he had not touched her? No. Did she honour him? No, she proclaimed repeatedly in public that she hated him. So what selective vivah ke vachan is she talking about now?
Jodha never trusted Jalaal ... otherwise she would tell her hubby about Sujamal & jalaal par haamla ... not in direct way but indirectly. ... becoz Jalaal told her previously that anytime u come to me with any topic... I will listen. ... but Jodha ki to amnesia hai na... bhul jaante hai... and yes she doesn't know anything about love...

Reel Jalaal will definitely pardon her... with so much tears... i m sure real Jaalal would kill her then & there... even our dear Suja bhaisa or any other rajbanshi pati also never tolerated 😊

Now, she goes out from the palace in the night like Nirupa Roy in the 1960s and 1970s films, with a bundle, the only difference being that Nirupa Roy usually had a child in tow and Jodha lugs along that heavy bronze Kanha. And when Nirupa Roy used to leave her house and hearth, it used to start raining at once, to add to the tragic impact. Here, Paridhi probably does not like getting wet, so it has not rained as yet!😉.

Nirupa Roy... bingo 😆👏

Here you have a very pretty lone woman wandering all over the countryside. The risks to her are obvious. Soon someone, probably Sharifuddin, will kidnap her, and then Jalal will have go to her rescue.

Being a rajkumari she never traveled alone I believe. ... she doesn't have any idea what the real woeld is...

I am sick and tired of this heroine worship and the pulling down of the male lead. I am sick of this man weeping like a faucet in full flow, and generally looking like a poodle that has been soundly kicked. Even Rajat could not salvage that weepy letter-reading session for me. Has Jalal never heard of dignified sorrow? Why does he cry so much? It is hardly edifying.

Why don't they get rid of Jalal altogether, and have the show solely on Jodha & Jodha? But they won't, for it is Jalal who brings in the TRPs, and the more he prostrates himself, the higher they will rise.

Shyamala B.Cowsik

PS: If Jodha instructs Moti to read her letter to Jalal, she must know that he cannot read. Is this a new piece of enlightenment, or if she knew it all along, why did she write the letter that led, eventually to the dhakka? No one knows, and no one is likely to

Another example of amnesia of CVs... sick n tired of it...😡

Aunty, though you are not doing many analysis these days, am always glad whenever I get a PM from you. And I completely agree with you regarding yesterday's episode because I just mention it in another thread. Well written! 👏👏👏

Yess Jodha in some ways put the entire blame on Jalal and not fault herself while writing the letter. I feel she should have apologized for not tell her husband about her mid night visits without telling him but that was nowhere.

What a beautiful & emotional letter written from Jodha s tunnelvision POV😡 .
It s all about her hurt, her feelings & her keechad mein kiltha hua prem ka Kamal, oh really , which keechad, which kamal & what prem 😕 . But why am I not at all disappointed on Jodha s acts, I wonder. Jodha, very successfully I must say, pushed an already very contrite Jalal into a deep pit of everlasting guilt, love this hunar of hers 😡.

Aunty, I ve decided that this is Jodha s view on marriage & love, ie. her better half Jalal ( he s the better , in fact best half) is the one who should do the vachan paalna, trust her limitlessly, not raise a sound in anger against her (nor ever touch her either 😛 ) & also read her mind, eyes & heart etc etc & listen to her endless lectures & take immediate action on them. Buss itne se simple baat hain. I hope Jalal understands this soon , he s already more than halfway there, & bingo, we ll get the "epic love".

I wont blame Jodha at all for this fiasco because Jalal so obsessively fell for this woman & wants her no matter at what cost to his kingdom or anything else. He has pampered & spoilt her so much by giving in to whatever she asks that no wonder she thinks marriage is all give from Jalal s side only , & has chosen now to go sulk in the countryside till her Jalal figures out where she is & how to manaofy her this time around ( psst, Jalal, the Jaziya tax abolition, that s one way u might please her, dude, but only when she brings up the subject & errr advises u on its merits, got it , boy 😉 ).

Wishing all the best for Jalal that he grows up(down) to his Jodha begum s expectations soon by grovelling, crying or other means of suitable repentance & subjugate adoration 😕 . My rant over, sorry, Aunty

"AGHAST" !! yes that was my first reaction when Moti read that letter ! and then i could not help marveling at the sheer brilliance and audacity of it !!! Must be a real intelligent writer. How they managed it? And then i laughed out in frustrated anger !!
How can they show this full 360 turn in Jodha's views?? Only the other night she was telling her antar-aatma that it was HER fault !! AND NOW THE BLAME IS SHEHENSHAH'S !!
but i agree on one point that had she ever been in love with another man , she wud have told him to his face right after their marriage itself.with her things are either black or white, she does not take grey.
And that statement of letter-reading by Moti was a blunder by CVs. they remember the "Dhaakka" but selectively forgot the reason.
