Oh so you've gone to the REFERENCES he gives in his posts for every point that he makes???? The chronicles and archives??? I prefer to believe somebody who gives me proof from believable sources, which Abhay does 😃
And none of us have anything against the REAL Ruqaiya Sultan Begum, kindly please keep her away from this. The negativity in the forum is for the REEL Ruqaiya and that's coz she is being portrayed like that .
Thanks 😊

I think u people want to believe that Ruqaiya was not important and like in the serial negative beacause i do not think anybody will gain anything by falsely praising Ruqaiya.

I can ask you the same question. How are you so sure Ruq was favoured by Akbar? I suppose even you weren't a part of the 16th century. What we can believe are the different contemporary accounts and historical chronicles. Cross-reference and re-confirm the incidents in more than one account. Only then the real picture shall emerge.

When did anybody say Ruq wasn't important? She was the first wife of Akbar and a Mughal princess. These two positions themselves make her powerful in both court and harem. But the article that you have posted paints a very wrong picture. She was powerful, agreed but not THAT powerful.

The most powerful woman in Akbar's era was MUZ (Jodha). That I am sure without a doubt. Since you have read Abhay's post, you do know why I am saying this.

Many muslim bigots resented MUZ's influence over Akbar a lot. Abhay has given in a post of his that Aurangzeb closed down the royal libraries soon after his accession to 'clean stuff up'. Even I have read about it. Raising one queen's status to downplay the effect of other queen. That is what they have done. They effectively erased MUZ's mention/influence in many accounts but not all. That is why info about MUZ is so difficult to come by.

If you want to know real history, avoid blogs and articles which site no references and read Abhay's post. If you don't believe Abhay's posts, do your own digging then. And you will know what I am talking about. 😉

My motive to post this is not to go against anybody, its just pro Ruqaiya and i like that. Even if some matters can be wrong most of the article is correct and as i said its just a glimpse of Ruqaiya's life.

First of all i am not claiming anything, i just shared the article because i liked Ruqaiya and when did i ever say MUZ was any less important. You guys always compare Jodha and Ruqaiya and there lies the problem. I have done research for my knowledge from Libraries about the Mughal Era but still nobody can ever claim what is truth or what can be truth and i have never claimed anything.

So, the palace what was meant for Jodha Is for Ruq??? So they want to prove history as well wrong, even though in our school, they did not have love story of Akbar, It always mentioned his fav and chief queen as Jo and even Salima, but never about he loving and caring his first wife. So, y are we getting such articles suddenly?

You can believe whatever you want and I WILL BELIEVE WHAT I WANT.

I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU, pasting one article from some source is NOT PROOF

Abhay has GIVEN PAGES AND PAGES OF INFORMATION QUOTING SOURCES
Abhay, Kamal, Lizzy, Syria - they have done so much to dig out information.

You can love whoever you want but you cannot negate their research.

The simple fact is AFTER JODHA and AKBAR's demise the Mugal Empire WENT BACK to rigid intolerant ways and lot of materials were destroyed or distorted, because Jodha was a Hindu.
Aurangzeb was a zealot and he is said to have done most of the damage.

EXACTLY THANK YOU👏👏👏

It is simple logic that Rukayya would have been praised and credited in documents later since she was from important background and Jodha being a Hindu was resented and Aurangzeb was largely responsible. Even he could not destroy all the documents!

But this is not about Jodha at all and i am not against Jodha and i dont want to negate anyones effort. As i like Ruqaiya too and in the forum there is so much negetivity for her i just thought of sharing this because its almost true if not all and again its not about Jodha. Even please understand its just a Glimpse of Ruqaiya's life.

Dear, I didn't compare Jodha and Ruqaiya. I merely wrote the kind of position and influence discussed in the article about Ruqaiya wasn't actually held by her at all. That has been glorified for reasons I mentioned in the previous post.

Surely one can't claim something to be a confirmed truth in history. Only when that same incident or 'truth' has been repeated in more than one account and in the same manner, it is bound to have a bit of correctness to it. Afterall so many people can't be wrong over the very same incident or fact.
