Of course we expect a lot from some people. That only shows our regard for them and how much we love them. And here we are not expecting from the fatso in Amer who shivers but from a guy who at 22 had half the country under him, a self made man with amazing understanding and vision. Naturally we expect him to understand a friend of many years whom he was partly responsible for making her arrogant and turning her against jo. So he has to cover that extra mile to lessen her arrogance and making her friendly with jo. He did cover that extra mile to dissolve grina in jo.

Gayatri all those instances that you have quoted were passing remarks and feeble attempts. Not a solid sense drilling convo to explain that he has changed and she has to change too. After saying 'tumhari yahi baat hamein pasand aati hai' whenever she displayed attitude, he has never said that 'tumhari yeh attitude ab mujhe pasand nahin aati. Better Change yourself'

Now regarding jalal's confusion over jo yesterday I was only reminded of darcy's words on jane. 'Her manners were open cheerful and engaging as ever but without any symptom of peculiar regard and though she received his attentions with pleasure did she invite them by participation of sentiment.' Poor guy. Had he had a rose in his hand he would have tried a loves me, loves me not. After expln from love tutor christmas tree no.2 mirza hakim it is a given that jalal will not take the first step.

Will jo ? Never. Serial heroine hai. Alok nath ji ki sanskaaron se bhari. 😉😆

Shariffu has to play cupid now. Only then jodha will rush into jalal's arms.😳. Hope Sujamal doesn't play saviour and spoil the romance.

Sandhya I am very very sure that it will be my TE who will confess first!!! He is a 'Warrior of Light' in Coelho's words and quoting Coelho here -

To the warriors of light, there is no such thing as impossible love.

Sandhya, I agree that these comments might have been done in passing. But they did happen na. Any passable intelligent person could get the meaning in this , cant they? And Ruq is supposed to be more than average intelligent & she can understand Jalal s words & anger well toi, so why didn't she read between the lines here? She s no child that Jalal has to underline things to make her understand, I think. So for me , now whatever she s doing is sheer bullheadedness & her arrogance despite knowing she s wrong. In fact, if u noticed in yday s epi Ruq tells to MA that Jo might have saved Jalal s life with her own but Ruq wont still give up her most valuable Jalal for that
So its her possessiveness for Jalal making her do these things & that too despite Jalal s recent outburst & warning to her too, & so for me, Jalal cant be blamed for this.

Sandhya, I loved this post! Specifically as it quotes my favorite novel- Pride and Prejudice!

I think it is also relevant that the shove has made it all the more difficult for him to hope for the best.

Can totally see Jalal either picking out his hair or petals soon out of utter confusion! Even the CVs are confused at what state Jodha are at- is she the same person who went with Jalal to Salim Chisti or was that a look a like called Kajri like a typical Ekta Kapoor serial?

Had a good laugh over the Christmas tree and alok nath ki sanskaar- bang on!

Sorry to say, I have to disagree with your post. Ruq has been getting away with her tantrums and what Jalal did was a slap on her face. She doesn't even say anything when Maham expresses her extreme hatred against Jo. I hate Ruq just as much as I hate Maham. Jalal should have done this long back. People like Ruq are not going to learn if told nicely. Sometimes you've got to be treally harsh to discipline them and Ruq is one such person. Like they say the dog's tail can never be straightened. I don't even pity Ruq for her upbringing or Hamida or Jalal. If she has the tameez to take Hamida's blessings, then she'll definitely have a little bit of sense to behave herself. If she is pure at heart, she won't side with Maham. She won't call Jalal a 'Keemti cheez '. Some say that Ruqs character is realistic. I wonder how. I don't find any reality in that. I only see a very wretched, jealous and mean person. As far as I know, people with such personality types don't last long at the top. Still, I would love to see Ruq redeeming herself and stop interfering in Jodha and Jalal's personal lives(if that's even possible!).

Since I haven't watched in eons I am just taking a shot in the dark here:

Gayatri, it's not so much about him making those remarks in passing as it is about him understanding her. Can we watch our best friends self destruct and then go about romancing someone else in peace ? They were like two sides of the same coin. Where is jalals pain ? Shouldnt he be in pain to see what ruku has been reduced to ? Shouldn't he say where at you getting these ideas from? Why are you dong this ? When has he ever acknowledged that she loves him but he doesn't love her back. ? Where is his guilt ? For a man as sensitive as jalal is I would definitely expect some guilt . The thing is he still hasn't understood why ruk is doing all this . It needs more than a passing remark. He needs to tell her that it hurts him to see her so. Only then will she stop . The time for him to be irritated with her is long gone. Now seeing the depth to which has stooped has to hurt him. Not irritate , this is not a child's game. My two cent :)

I am not defending ruqaiya. Her possessiveness ( wonder which one of the ladies in the forum will not feel posessive about a husband who has showered you with exclusive aytention for a decade and then changes tracks. She has been the same and there has been no complaint so far) and recent cheap tactics deserve nothing but censure.

I am only talking about jalal. Given his sensitivity and understanding ( that obviously ruqs lacks and he knows it) you expect more than passing comments from him. He has bent and sweated to remove jodha's misunderstanding him. Doesn't his 15 yr old friend however stupid she is deserve even 1 attempt?

Sandhya Ruqs is not a 15 yr old, she is a 19 year old.
