Kya karein lashy. When the team loses the captain is always blamed. I know that you don't love reading but you might of read of a Vikram betaal story where due to so many people's mistakes a man is mistakenly considered guilty and is put to death by the king. When betaal questions vikram who was more responsible the answer is that the king is more at fault.
But, he is 22 year old Jalal...and I love him for it!

Aunty ...there have been many scenes lately where they don't show the announcements and all...so, its possibly a given an announcement was made before she stepped in.
He is annoyed about her interruption - but, when the affair came to be known - it wasn't something totally insignificant since it goes against the traditions of the Mughal Sultanat, doesn't it?đ Yes, Jalal will bring a change to that henceforth...but as of now, it was still wrong doing!
If nothing else, a blooper - but, then every serial is riddled with something of this sort.. đ
This is nothing compared to many other bloopers and as tripti pointed out by the bandhies and messengers turning their back to zill-e-illahi while leaving.
HAREM COURT
That was only a Harem court...so only the women alone...I felt that him shouting at them NOT to interrupt wasn't really that out-of-place...and why aunty are you so harsh on the lad for shouting back at Ruq when she's been bursting his eardrums for the past four months? đ The guy had barely returned from one office to step into another and voila more problems...bass the CEO lost his cool...
On a more serious note - obviously, he's been annoyed with the harem issues lately spilling on to his political affairs et al - (Remember, how he mutters that the harem war was worse than any other war he's seenđ)! Surely, he was far more dignified in shutting them up than the women who were WWFing barely a day ago in the haremđ
Also, the 'unfairness' of the harem kaand and issues coming to light lately have given him a bad reality check, me thinks
Why ask those hopeless begums for their opinion and then scream at them? đ It was almost equivalent to 'dare you females go against jodha begum'. Of course he is the boss the ceo and the unquestioned monarch. Why not dismiss ruqaiya due to reasons of incompetence and make a fresh appointment of his choice. It is clear that he has a choice now. Why these namesake elections where he has a definite preference. Does he want to convince himself that his choosing jo over ruqs is justified by inciting ruqaiya to blunder?
JALAL-RUQ
Before saying that we'd never wish a friend like Jalal in our life... wouldn't we rather never have a friend like Ruqaiyya first?
Of course. Who cares for Ruqaiya. But unfortunately jalal has been her friend for years. Dosthi ki hai tho nibhaani padegi.
Everyone's saddened that he gave up on Ruqaiyya soon...but, where is it soon? Every time he asks his friend the question 'Do you want me, do you feel jealous when I spend time with other ladies...and what am I to you?'
Her answer in various (actions, gestures, words) have been 'You are the Emperor and I am your chief consort...You are a man of power and position and I'm proud to be associated with that power and position!'
Which best friend really gives an answer like that?^^
Wasn't this the answer that he had always wanted to hear all these years. L was the ban word for him . He used to be proud of her answer earlier. If he changed why not notify if not encourage her to change.đ
Ruqaiyya is loyal to the Mughal Sultanat and obsessed with the power she holds in it - Jalal is a means (albeit her favourite means) of ensuring her Sultanat and her position in said Sultanat is safe!
He is supposed to sit down and have a talk with her? Why? Did she sit down and have a talk with him when he lost his father? Did she sit down and have a chat with him when he was committing blunder after blunder during the Ben track? He was blinded by ego, right? What about her - she could have thought of it rationally! She is supposed to be his advisor right? Her egging him to marry Benazir during that track was in far poorer light than anything Jalal's done to her lately! After that, Jalal granted her a gift in the DEK for getting rid of Benazir - did she apologize to him for having committed mistakes? No! Instead, she tells Jodha choose anything BUT Jalal...like REALLY?
If Jalal treats Ruqaiya the way she treated him, then what is the difference between the two. He is the more rational and balanced of the two. I expected his letting her down in a more classy way where he cannot be blamed. Like in Mahabharat - 5 houses atleast...no...only war. Similarly, he attempts to put some sense into her...she continues her arrogance...faces her doom. That way jallu will be fault-freeđ¤
We expect better standards from Jalal, not Ruqaiya.
Ruqaiya undoubtedly deserved the dressing down for what she did. She was cheap by placing the moorthies and further blaming jo.He was also right in getting angry with her and blasting her after the idol debacle.
But why didn't he attempt to correct her or change her when he changed himself even before this mess? Not that he was totally unaware of her attitude. He was infact the perpetrator of such an attitude in her if not the sole cause.
How much did he bend to correct jo's grina? Why didn't he even attempt to correct his friend's arrogance? She wasn't just another green begum or orange begum but his childhood chum.
He complained of her having changed. But it was a crazy response to his own change that he failed to communicate to her.
HIS EGGING
And as for the egging - the Jo vs Ruqs primarily started during the BEK elections, right? He teased/warned both Ruqaiyya (with a smile) about Hunar ki khaan and Jodha with a frown about Ruq's intelligence!
Even then, after he teased Ruq about the chess game - and saw her reactions - he disappointedly advices her not to be so driven to delight about the loss of Jodha rather than the victory of her friend! In that way, he's been egging Jodha too - to confess her feelings and the jalan bit!
This 'teasing' habit of his might be a drawback, an annoying characteristic of his - whatever - but, its nothing new! Initial episodes when the twosome were more cordial the egging ended with pleasurable scenes. (I like it when you get angry and I like to manaa you) Lately, when he's realizing Ruqaiyya's reality, the ending is not so pleasurable!
Reality only because of him. He cheered her to be arrogant. He spoilt her by showering his exclusive attention on her and encouraging her rudeness. He always kept saying - 'tumhari yahi baat haemin bahut pasand hai Ruqaiya' whenever she spoke of audha or shaan. I agree with sun when she says "if Jalal had clearly told ruqaiyya to respect the others and define the line ,the limit ,she would never have crossed it coz Rukku is super scared of his temper...but he resorted to white lies to pacify her ,never clearing his stand on Jodha and left it all to assumptions and everyone assumed including ruqaiyya". Did he tell her once that he is no more the truant he was and she has to revise her propriety and decorum.
For all of her shortcomings, he kept forgiving Ruqaiyya up until the recent Harem meeting. He trusted her to be truthful to him if nothing else! He trusted her allegiance to the Sultanat and thought she was 'just' in Sultanat affairs if nothing else (like how she gave the land back to Saleema in the DEK scene)
Now; despite all of their history together, he's never going to forgive Ruqaiyya for having back-stabbed his trust in this manner!
Naturally. this is the epic love story of Jodha and Jalal
He's put up with her audha rants, with her constant 'tell me you don't love Jodha Begum' with her 'I me and myself' importance because he knew it was HER!
What about his own ' Dil nahin hai hamnare paas' rants without which initially Ruqaiya might have been an altogether different person?

And I also wouldn't say that Jalal's cerebral cog-wheels ONLY work in Jodha's case and not in Ruq's (it would seem that way cos this entire serial has been outlined with tracks that show every other person in the Sultanat plotting against Jodha!)
His brain had stopped working during the Tasneem track (a Ruqs affair) due to depression and during Benazir track (A Jodha affair) due to ego! Also, during Ruq's MC kaand he had taken it upon himself to do the investigation and solved it too - till MA outwitted him at the last minute!
There too JO was the accused party.
There have been kings who've fallen for beloved queen no.5 or no.6 when queen no2, queen no3 or queen no4 did nothing really wrong!
Nothing wrong. He is the master of his wishes had his new found heart. I only wish some sensitivity and dignity in the break up
Oh yes, but my prime complaint was the scene where Jodha recoiled her hand suddenly - I felt it sapped the flavour out of a scene that could have been better! đ
