One Shot - Based on Precap 14/2/14
"Humein bahar ka khula vatavaran pasand hai..hum bahar hi so jayenge.." Jodha said in a low gloomy tone..and left the Khema..
Jalal could easily notice the sadness that her face carried..He looked at her who went out of the khema in no time..
How much he wanted to say.."Wait Jodha Begum.. I'll accompany you.." "Wait..dont sleep in cold weather..you ain't well.." "Let's first arrange for some firewood before we sleep outside.."
But his mouth just could not open..for His mind was already preoccupied with the actions of Ruqaiya..How she had joined their aam-aadmi trip and yet, she continued to use the luxury..
His mind was still engrossed in the things that he had noticed amongst Ruqaiya and Jodha.. How Jodha approached things with optimism and Ruqaiya with pessimism..
No doubt, Ruqaiya had always been his first priority.. But, the sight of Jodha ached his heart..
"Jalal..chaliye ab humein so jaana chahiye.." said Ruqaiya and Jalal came out of his thoughts..
Jalal gave a fake smile and nodded his head in a Yes..
Both Ruqaiya and Jalal laid down on the bed..and Ruqaiya dozed off within few seconds as she was tired of journey she had done..
*** After sometime ***
Jalal was sleepless.. His mind was peaceless.. His heart had only one name to say.. Jodha begum..but Jalal was still unaware of this feeling..
Suddenly, he got up with a startle.. He asked a question to himself ," What am I doing in this Khema..if I am supposed to complete my journey as an aam aadmi?"..
His expressions changed to that of little anger and disgust... Why did Ruqaiya spoil his divinely journey..
He got up from the bed and went outside the khema quickly..
The soothing cool breeze outside sort of calmed him down..but what he witnessed further..made him smile automatically..
His Jodha Begum slept on the ground..covered with a barely comfortable blanket.. But her divinity made him smile..
As she shivered in the cold, Jalal came back to senses..
He moved towards her slowly and carefully looked at her.. SHe was shivering out of cold..and her face was a bit pale..
He was shocked.. A stab pierced his heart.. His heart ached seeing her in this condition..
** In Khema**
Ruqaiya woke up in astonishment..She didnt find Jalal near her side.. She was angry..
Without wasting any moment, She got up from the bed.. and went outside the Khema to look for Jalal..

Ruqaiya came outside and saw Jalal..whose back was towards her.. She saw him looking at Jodha begum..
Her blood boiled at this sight.. How could he leave me and go to Jodha begum.. She stood there and waited to see, what would happen next..
"I'll confront him in sometime.. "She thought!
Jalal came to sleeping Jodha..and gently touched her forehead.. He was relieved.. She didnt have fever.. But the way she was shivering..and her pale face indicated that she was not comfortable..yet she was trying to get a sleep..
He got up and went to search for some firewood..
In no time, He came back with some pieces of wood and arranged them in firewood thingy.. Soon he put the wood to fire .. He tried to be as silent as he did this work..so that Jodha doesn't wake up..
After the warmth from the firewood reached to Jodha.. She was little bit comfortable in her sleep..and her eyes slowly opened up..
Jalal was stunned to see her wake up..
Jodha opened her eyes and saw Jalal looking at her.. She got up with a startle..
She saw the firewood near her and she was happy to see it.. She could make out that Jalal had done this for her..
She smiled at him and Jalal was relieved to see her smile.. He sat on other side of firewood..
Ruqaiya watched all this from behind.. She was getting angrier by each passing second..
Jodha said ," Shahenshah ! Aap yahan? Aur iski koi aayshyakta nahi thi.. Hum bilkul thik hain.."
Jalal ," Haan..vo humein neend nahi aa rahi thi.. isliye bahar aa gaye..aur Jodha Begum.. iski zarurat thi.." (indicating the firewood)
Jodha ," Haan..hum jaante hain ki ab aap ye kahenge ki aapko humari nahi..lekin Mughal Sultanate ki Begum ki fikr thi..isliye.." She said jokingly..
But Jalal was not in a mood of joke now.. Once He himself had said.. That he didn't care for Jodha but her life was important..as she was Mughal Sultanate's begum..(when Jodha had tried to commit suicide)
Jalal ," Nahi Jodha begum.. Ye humnein sirf aapke liye kiya hai.. Kyonki..HUM AAPKO KISI MUSIBAT MEI NAHI DEKH SAKTE".. He said with a firm tone..
Jodha was bit shocked.. Even a little blush took over her cheeks..
Ruqaiya had enough of this.. She was about to go to Jalal and Jodha..
When Jodha spoke up ," Acha Shahenshah.. Ab bahut raat ho gayi hai.. aap vapas jaiye.. Ruqaiya Begum aapka intezaar kar rahin hongi..(now her voice turned a bit sad).. kadachit unhe acha nahi lagega ki aap yahan hain.."
Ruqaiya stopped herself.. She smirked.. "So this stupid Jodha Begum is a bit sensible " She thought and waited for Jalal to come back..
Jalal ," Nahi Jodha Begum.. Ruqaiya begum aaram se so rahin hain.. aur humnein kaha na..Ki humein neend nahi aa rahi hai.. aur vaise bhi .. jab hum dono aam aadmi ki tarah safar karne nikle hain.. to hum aaram se andar kaise so sakte hain.."
Jodha was speechless.. A smile of pride came over her face.. She was delighted to hear that from his mouth..She was happy that he was being honest in his journey..
Ruqaiya was blown apart..
Jalal said with a finality in his tone.. ," Agar aap sona chahti hain to so jaiye Jodha Begum.. Hum to yahin baithna chahte hain..Yahan khuli hava mein bahut sukoon hai.."
Jodha said with a smile ," Sach kahein Shahenshah.. to humein bhi neend nahi aa rahi thi.."..
Jalal looked at her with surprise.. and then both of them broke out into a cute laughter...
Ruqaiya fumed with anger and went inside the Khema.. She had nearly lost her Jalal to Jodha..
Tears of jealousy came out of her eyes..
She laid on bed..and cried.. How could she confront her when He himself didnt want to come inside..

Jodha and Jalal sat near the firewood and talked to each other for nearly whole night..laughing..giggling..teasing..smirking..
PS - I didnt realise this when I was writing the OS..but after reading it.. I remembered Movie Judaai's scene.. Where Anil Kapoor gets up from Sri Devi's side..goes to Urmila Matondkar..
They close the door.. Sri Devi watches this..fumes and goes back to her room..n cries.. 🤣
