three cheers for monogamy

After watching today's episode I am so glad that monogamy is more prevalent in our era.
How in the name of God does a woman share her husband with someone else???

I felt terrible for Ruqquaiya. I know she has her faults and is far from perfect but she loves Jalal so much. No one can deny that. All her talk about her being able to rule Jalal mind as he has no heart is just that "talk".

We know from history that she was infact the chief consort of Akbar and the actual begam-e-khas.
Having had monopoly over Jalal right from childhood it must be heart breaking for her to see him drifting away from her.

I have nothing against Jodha. She is the heroine of the show ,afterall, it is after all Jodha-Akbar and not Ruq-Akbar. But GOD! my heart wept for Ruq, especially after the precap.

She was made to chose between her auda and Jalal. Jalal knows how much her position is dear to her. Was he hoping she would say NO. No my dear Jalal Ruq truly loves you more than her position.

I hope they do not ruin Ruq's character to elivate Jodha's and I hope Ruq somehow becomes a bit like Salima because right now there is no way she is going to just hand over Jalal to Jodha. I see her fighting tooth and nail over him.

Very true. It's not just that though. I felt very bad when jalal had a smirk on his face when she decided to cook for him knowing that she does not know. She at least made an effort and I am glad they both appreciated it at the end but when he laughed or smirked in the beginning I was very sad for rukayya. He must realize that she grew up in the shahi gharana with all the comforts and jodha although a princess was taught to cook.

Deepti di,
Pls. Read Abhay's JA not a fiction series. It just shows the importance Jodha had in Akbar's life. The story is not all fiction and Jodha being shown like heroine is not false. Most of these events were historically documented. I feel no pity for Ruq however. I really agree with your title but I really don't feel pity for Ruq. She deserves it. Her 'Audha' is what is important to her. She was never a wife to Jalal, she was only his queen.

One thing I felt while watching the episode is that thank God in our era a man has only one wife.. I mean how did they tolerate one another?? How did they share the same husband??

Perhaps I'm a little biased here. But I really love Akdha and their actual story. Gosh, it's like I'm hating Ruq the same way we used to get annoyed of Arpita's influence over Yash. Old PV days. by the way, do still write that ff?

Honestly, it gives me the creeps when I see Ruq-Jalal-Jodha...How can any woman share her husband..Whenever I think I like this it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth!

yeah, yeah I know this was the reality of Jalal w/ his harem of women...I really still don't understand how in the world any wife loved Jalal? B/c he has basically shared physical relations w/ every other woman whom he was attracted too! See, this is what puts me off this great series sometimes..I can't stand it!🥱

This many times makes me question that if Jalal really loved Jodha in the actual history, b/c if he had truly loved her he wouldn't sleep w/ other women after that or marry them!🤢
