I didn't mean to intrude or offend your post. Just that it gave me crazy thoughts...eventhough your post by itself was good.

Hey its a forum for discussion, and your views are appreciated. Keep posting.

aunty, which of my post did you reply to? I checked the thread twice but found nothing.
This apart, the whole scenario of the cross country journey by these aam janata is plain nuts. Do see my response above to AJSharma79.

As for your point in bold, why could the Seth not have 2 or indeed any number of wives? There was no limit, in those days, on the number of marriages a Hindu man could have. It is only after 1958 that bigamy was banned by law for Hindus, Sikhs. Jains etc, but not for Muslims, who can still have four wives.

Well hindu religion does not allow multiple wives except to the king since he needs to have a heir. What Jalal played was a Marwari seth and Marwari's don't have multiple wives.

But it would have looked odd for a Hindu Seth to travel with one Hindu wife and one obviously Muslim wife. Maybe the observers would have assumed that the Seth was imitating the Shahenshah, but in reverse!

My dear, I thought a bit more about this matter, and then edited my reply to you. It is now as below, and I think this version is a lot more rational. It is also more realistic.

My initial reaction needed these qualifications, for the bottom line is that Jalal Jodha ko har waqt palkon par bitatha hai.Plus he would not have let any begum run the risk of falling ill from the cold.

Do take a look at it. It will have the added advantage of making you feel better!

I think the whole idea here is to make Ruqiaya look mean and petty, in order to make Jalal slowly start moving away from her and towards Jodha. The typical, mindless, cliched, and unnecessary zero sum game.

One more thing. Do NOT let Jodha-Jalal, or indeed anyone else here, become the kind of obsession that can cause sharp mood swings. It is most undesirable. Do try and overcome this tendency, my dear.

Thank you aunty, atleast you agreed that he should have put his foor down and said she cannot sleep out.
Will wait for Monday.
And Aunty, the way you have described the last 2 episodes are so so so nice.
Like Rajat amases me by his acting, so do you by your writing.
Aunty, please write on the first past of this episode. And i dont like anything after Ruq came.
Many felt Ruq-Jo cooking was cute. But i didnt like. I think i have became so obesses with Ja-Jo that i dont want anyone to come inbetween, be it his friend .

she is not just friend, she is jalal's 1st wife. so whether we like it or not, jalal-jodha-ruku-salima r a family. in the end all will be living together happily ever after.😆

Hi, I too don't know your name!😛😆😆 You can call me Lavs (Lavanya)
But so many have consoled me to wait till Monday and see what actually happens.
We know sometimes promos/precaps are misleading.
So now i ask you to please wait till Monday; Lets see what happens.
but if Jalal sleep inside then I might not forgive him for this
Lets see if Jalal does the right thing.
Yes the weekend has been made stressful by the CVs. Guess they don't like peace😆

Aunty, I see that the hot topic for now is why he did not stop jodha from going out/why he allowing Jodha to sleep outside. Like a good number of people including you, I choose to wait for Monday.

Right now I am flying high from the first part of the episode especially the scene where they are tying the thread. I wish to remain flying, if you don't mind. 😉
But i would just like to add this, and I mentioned this elsewhere to...that if I am Ruku, I rather he would have yelled/confronted me (okay, I agree I don't know what he is going to do until Monday) than finding him looking at Jodha longingly with love pouring out of every ounce of his being, standing the cold. His sharp words at her mistreating Jodha would have been lesser pain than having to see with her own eyes, that the heart, which for so long she conveniently agreed and believed to be non existent, is now beating for Jodha.
To me that is a pain too much to bear. Your friend, husband, love slipping out of your life. He is too loyal, and loves her too much to discard her from his life. But he would not love her the same way as he is now falling for Jodha, isn't it?

I am afraid your comment here is not correct, either in Indian civil law before the abolition of bigamy for Hindus in 1958, or in practice.

There was no Hindu religious injunction against multiple marriages for men, either then or now. Only Lord Rama was an ek patni vrata. The anti-bigamy law is a purely legal measure.

There was nothing socially against the practice either till 1958. In my grandfather's times, many rich Hindu men of his acquaintance had 2 or even more wives.

jalal always cared for jodha, even when he was not in love with jodha. best eg. is the b'day party tht was organised. i agree hamida organised it, but it was jalal who informed HB. so why do we think tht he will ignore jodha's safety??? & he didnt knew tht ruku told jodha to sleep outside so maybe when jodha told tht she wanted to sleep outside, he didnt knew how to react at tht point of time or he was trying to figure out why jodha wanted to sleep outside. we may bash jalal for anything, but at least when it comes to his begum's safety issue he is not the person who will do tht. if he can fight with the tiger for jodha's safety, it will be silly from CV's part if they show him not caring about jodha's safety.

I agree with you about the sleeping outside point. Do see my revised response to Joja,, which is my considered opinion and what I believe will happen on Monday as well.

As for Ruqaiya and your take on her, it is all a question of HOW she cares for, or loves Jalal. Whether she is heartbroken or merely furious will depend on that. I do not think Jalal loves her, except perhaps in the old shoe love sense. The former Ruqaiya loved him but had to hide it in order not to lose him, as he was then dead against any such follies. This one is different, and I do not know what to think about her.

And yes, I too would prefer to think of the mannat ka dhaaga segment.
