When I wrote that Zee might have hoped to get some brownie points, thru the latest naatakiya roopantar, which would help them handle anticipated future criticism of Jodha Akbar, I had meant it to be a joke. I am not given to using emoticons much; this time a 😉 would have been useful!

This said, I would not be surprised if this is what Zee/Balaji had in mind, even though it makes no sense to people who value logic, I have learnt long ago that the CVs are allergic to logic. Otherwise, where on earth did they think up this track about Fatehpur Sikri being built in honour of Jodha? I had assumed that was a rara avis, a settled historical issue. It now seems that having done that, Zee are now planning to brazen it out.

Maybe, as was suggested elswhere, we will end up with Tejwant as the architect/ carver in chief for Fatehpur Sikri.

I did my bit this morning by putting up the official Govt of India Press guide to Fatehpur Sikri. I have no energy to chase these things up any further, my wonky wrist is acting up protesting loudly. Good luck to all of you striving to correct this very odd and deliberate naatakiya roopantar.

Finally, the idea that Akbar might have been dyslexic is a fascinating one. Otherwise, it is difficult to understand, as I once discussed with Piu (Manzilmukul) why anyone with so deep a love for learning of all kinds, as Akbar was all his life, would have neglected learning to read and write, if only to be able to read on his own, not to speak of the confidentiality angle in the top secret affairs of an empire.

The dyslexia option had not occurred to me, but it is a very plausible one. Many great men in history are now thought to have been dyslexic. It would have surely put any affected child off reading and writing, and there would have been no diagnosis and thus no cure. Dyslexia was hardly recognised easily till even a decade ago, which is why Taare Zameen Par was such a revelation to so many in 2008.

I think the point about Akbar's inability to read is going to come up during this trip . I have now shifted ground on the issue of The Letter needing to be resolved. Now I feel it has to be done, for the wound festers still, as was clear from what he said tonight. If he does not learn the truth, he will always feel that Jodha is capable of being an intolerably capricious and insensitive female, and he will never be able to trust her fully again, without needing proof, as he did during the false pregnancy track.

I had also commented somewhere earlier on this thread (which seems to have grown and grown o in a gargantuan fashion even without the kind attentions of the chipmunk gang😉) that the jaziya issue was going to come up, and lo and behold, it already has. I am going to pat myself on the back for one of my very rare correct predictions. 😉

I was very pleased that Jalal is sensitive to this on his own, not having known about it at all, and will now take the decision to abolish it also on his own as soon as he gets back to Agra.

Please help me understand the thought process here...Ekta can call you or me the inspiration behind the Empire state building in the the next episode ... Will it please us ? Not me...If it is not a fact, then most people will be more irritated than pleased for getting their name dragged in a deliberately generated controversy. No one likes looking stupid by getting credit for something which the whole world knows, they didn't do...this is how most human beings react... Including Rajputs.

Akbar is one of my favorite characters from history. I just read some texts written by foriegn travellers who visited the empire during his regime. They describe him just as we think he was... A great emporer ( just trying to do some more research on whether he was really dyslexic , which is a neurological learning disability ...or was his inability to read and write was more circumstantial...will post when i have more evidence to support my theory) Anyways, It is bad enough that the show creaters are blatantly tainting his image. And now, we as viewers give it a Rajput vs Mughal or a Hindu vs Muslim angle. We are doing exactly what they wanted us to do. Controversies ensure that the trps won't fall. They are ensuring that people who are not crazy about the upcoming romantic track, stay hooked for one reason or another.

Also if Ballaji or Zee think that they can use this as a defense next time they are accused of defaming Rajputs/ rajvanshis, they really need to hire a human behavior specialist and get some classes. How can they undo the damage of Shivani/ Bharmal blunder by making another blunder? Just like we cant undo a murder by commiting another one. Showing a girl elope with her lover on the day of her wedding is a sensitive issue for any community. I'm sure most people have heard of honor killings. Dont get me wrong, i'm not defending a crime here...just quoting an example to show how sensitive this can be...even in 21st century. A lot of us get riled up when our much loved character is shown in poor light ...and we are not even related to this character. Isnt it unfair to expect the current bloodlines of some of these characters to stay immune to excessive masala- fication/cooked up situations that show their ancestors in poor light...sorry, read it as naatkiya roopanter or creative liberty.

To me, this is more about CVs vs history than one character vs another or one community vs another. I remember your awesome response to my post History, psychology and politics post. I don't like too much distortion of history either and I gave my reasons for that in that post. Real Akbar's story has enough masala for them to make 500 episodes. So why do they cook up situations which have no supporting evidence. The answer is ...to generate controversy...a sure shot way to keep viewers trapped.

Just read another post. Someone called Zee and they are sticking to their story. Not sure what to make of it.

Look at this way, Pallavi, Mandy and Peepu.

Now at least Balaji and Zee have a readymade defence when they are next accused of defaming the Rajputs/Rajvanshis. They can point to this claim - which is very strange given the categorical supplementary disclaimer last night that this was fictional !?! - and say that such attacks are totally unwarranted, for see, we have given the whole credit for Fatehpur Sikri not to the Mughal commanders and soldiers who fought and died in Rajasthan and in Gujarat, but to the Rajvanshi b Begum Jodha !

Did any one else feel that Rajat looked like a TIGHTLY stuffed bearded teddy bear in his marwari costume?
And he was master mumbling his marwari dialect. Nowhere like the way he spoke the same clearly in Amer. And why was jo surprised? She knows that he spoke the language.

And aunty, you were perfectly right. This mohabbat prem card is popping flashing everywhere. Haan haan. Unki amar prem gatha prarambh ho gaya hai.🤣

Some scenes like holding a hand to help into the boat and payal is getting redundant.

Fairy while sleeping and teeki mirchi when you wake up was cute.

Why did jo cover her paayal. Thought that shahenshah will steal it again?😆

There was a dialogue 'have many things to talk to you before another khaamoshi ka deewar comes between us'. Another misunderstanding? ???😲. On no!!!! After poison drinking and mannat maanging how can there be another mu?😭

🤣@stuffed teddy bear, I thought he looked like a stuffed toy too!

No she felt very shy to see him staring at her pretty payal-adorned feet. Didn't you see the blush that spread on her cheeks. 😳

As I said on my precap thread, Rajat has a lovely affinity with languages. Even if he isn't techincally perfect ( which I think he is but some of my Urdu speaking friends say he isn't all the time ) he makes every language he speaks, so believably aunthentic! ⭐️ almost as if he was born speaking it.

Yes Jodha knows he can speak Rajasthaani dialects but she doesn't probably still believe how well he does so. 😆

And what the Hell did she mean by "Aapki bhi to galat aadat hain" because he only convicts someone if they've solid proof?!

She would've made the worst judge possible!! 🤣

Jalal staring at her payal and through the palanquin...recalling Ganghaur... Jodha watching him staring at her feet and then shy-ing..followed by her cover-up was an oh la la husband-wifey insider joke! 😆
I'm surprised that scene hasn't been red-flagged in the forum yet😛

But, seriously what's with Jalal's get up and voice? The contrast seems worse since they showed the Ganghaur Jalal... 😲

But what I really like about these repeated scenes is the spin they're giving them. Jodha looked so shy when he offered her his hand, and their stolen glances at each other were so cute. 😃
Jalal knew she was looking at him when she thought he wasn't looking so he laughed a little about that too. In the paayal scene too she caught him glancing at her feet & she suddenly blushes 😆

I think I can do very well on episodes upon episodes of only Jalal's expressions!!! 😆
