CHAPTER THREE

Jodha looked around and asked him if he knew the way out of the jungle. He pointed at another path than the actual way. Jalal's wicked brain started working; there was no way he wanted to show her the way so that they could depart soon.

He was so familiar with jungle that he thought of the longest way it takes to reach another village and then travel from there to the border again. He started giggling to himself thinking about it; he was doing childish things to spend time with her.

On the way she knew the way and understood his cute but wicked trick. If you only took few steps you would see the way clearly and hear voices of people because she went to the jungle from the way he came in to jungle.

She had sharp memory and to be sure she even made some marks on threes so that she could find the way back but gave a convinced look to Jalal because she also wanted to spend time with him.

He looked around trying to look really innocent and that he didn't know the way...only to see "JODHA" written on the threes around.

He understood with a blink that she knows the way too because he had seen her looking at that way and there was no way she didn't see it.

Both smirked at each other for thinking how smart they are at understanding each other's intentions and went towards the long way.

While walking a question came on her mind, she didn't ask him his name. She was talking only about herself and he was waiting so much for her to ask his name. And finally when she did ask and he immediately answered Jalal embarrassing himself more and she gave a light laughter.

Jodha praised his name not realizing Jalal could be Jalaluddin, but there was not a chance she could imagine Jalal as the Mughal emperor, because she heard that he is cruel and heartless while Jalal was "sweet" and "innocent" FOR HER, but of course little naughty due to his trick.

Jalal was surprised that she didn't realize it but also happy because he wanted to see if she liked him as a common man (common sense; he knows that she also knew the way but chose the long way to spend time with him so he knows kind of that she likes him), because no one in his life loved him because he was Jalal but the Mughal emperor. Even Rukhaiya was on the list, but with Jodha he had strange hope that she liked him as Jalal even though she is a shehzaadi who get so many royal proposals often.

Jodha started talking about her life and her family again. Jalal was so amused hearing about how naughty she is in the Palace like sneaking out of the Palace to watch Mela and then acting so innocent and with a puppy face asking for forgiveness when she gets caught sneaking so her mother couldn't punish her. She was their weakness. She was a brat who was pampered too much because she was their first child after so many years.

Her life was so bright, innocent and beautiful unlike him who shed blood every time. Jalal was a lonely soul who couldn't trust anyone, because of his position. There was no one who comforted him when he needed, not even his own mother. He also didn't have sympathy towards people and they called him a ruthless king. He felt sad thinking about how he was different.

Jodha was staring at Jalal who was lost in his thoughts. She was so lost at staring him that she stumbled not seeing the wet sand on the floor. He immediately came out of his thoughts and saved her from falling.

Jalal was also lost in her eyes. His hands were around her waist. Her hands were around his collar bone gripping kurta.

The time stopped again. She felt little awkward regarding their posture and looked at Jalal to give him hint but his intense gaze made her forget everything. She couldn't remove her gaze from him. She was lost in his eyes. She could feel his manly chest; she could hear his heart racing. His shoulders were so masculine, she thought giving him a naughty smile. This didn't go unnoticed by Jalal who smirked at her mischievous smile. They were standing in this posture for a few minutes. They didn't want to break this intense eye lock.
