Hey all thanks a lot for liking my OS...I hope you all like part 2 also
Part 2
Jodha collapses on the floor, Hamida & salima come running towards her to hold her. Jalal is too shocked to react & stands still.
Hamida keeps Jodha's head on her lap and calls out her name - Jodha beta wake up...you cant leave us.
Salima holds Jodha's hand teary eyed... she looks up to see Benazir running off and calls out the soldiers to arrest her. Benazir is arrested & taken to custody.
Jalal throws off his sehra & slowly reaches out to Jodha.
Hamida - Dont touch her ...or come near her... you dont deserve her.
Salima - Ammi jaan this is not the time to get angry...lets take Jodha to her room..Hakim saab is coming she needs treatment.
Jalal sits on the floor while Jodha is carried off to her room.
The whole situation starts to sink in and Jalal realises how right Jodha was from the beginning and had it not been for her, he would have been dead by now. Jodha had sacrificed her life for him...she had expected nothing in return...she had wished only for his safety...and he was foolish enough to call her as jealous...what had he done...
Jodha Begum... he yells out her name and runs towards her hojra.
He stops at the door and remembers how he took oath not to set foot into her room & not looking at her even if she is dying.
Jalal - Ya khuda I told all that in a fit of anger but I didnt know it would become true so soon.
Salima comes out of the room seeing him.
Salima - Shehenshah dont worry nothing will happen to Jodha begum.
Jalal just walks off but Salima follows him to his hojra.
Salima - Shehenshah even after all this you still dont believe Jodha begum? are you not going to see her?
Jalal - I dont have a face to show her...how will I meet her eyes.
Salima - I can understand Shehenshah but you are not to be blamed. Benazir trapped you in her plan so well.
Jalal - But you didnt fall to her tricks Salima...how is it that you trusted Jodha begum so well but I couldnt.
Salima - Shehenshah I have seen from the first day I met Jodha begum she is a women of honesty & virtue. She gives highest respect to Truth and sincerity and never blames anyone without proof. I can bet my life on her and she would never disappoint me.
Jalal - Alas if only I had this trust on her...
Salima - She knew she had no proof against Benazir but do you know last 3 nights she spent outside your hojra guarding the entrance so that Benazir wont sneak in?
Jalal - What ? what are you saying salima?
Salima - Yes shehenshah...from the moment she knew of Benazir's intentions all she has thought of is your safety. That night when you were boat riding with Benazir she was ready to kill you had it not been for Jodha aiming those arrows at her Benazir would have finished you.
Jalal didnt know what to say. With every moment his guilt was increasing and becoming unbearable. Tears started flowing from his eyes and he sat on the chair.
Jalal - I always thought I could read anyone's thought,I can judge anyone, see their intentions right through them but I failed big time in case of Benazir. I favoured a Bandhi more than my own Begum...I have to pay the price for it. Yaa khuda dont punish Jodha Begum for my deeds... punish me for not trusting her but please spare her. I cant loose her...
Salima - Please shehenshah you have to be strong now...come lets go to Jodha's room.
Jalal - I cant Salima... I have vowed not to set foot in her room and what face do I have to show her. She risked everything for him but all I gave her in return was to accuse her I even told her I hate her.
Salima - I know you have said all that in the fit of anger Shehenshah ...come this is not the time to discuss whats right or wrong...Jodha Begum's health is our utmost concern right now.
Salima takes his hand and leads him towards Jalal's hojra.
All the other ladies were standing around the bed on which Jodha was lying lifeless. Jalal looks in shock at her condition...she was looking like a white sheet.
Hamida tries to stop him but Salima indicates her to leave him alone.
Hakim - The poison was too strong...I have tried my best and given the best anti venom but we will have to wait for sometime to see how it works. The next few hours are crucial.Jodha begum needs rest.
Salima requests everyone to leave shehenshah and Jodha alone and slowly they vacate the hojra.
Jalal goes & sits next to Jodha on her bed and looks at her teary eyed. He holds her hand in his and presses his lips on her hand.
I am so sorry Jodha...pls forgive me. Ammi jaan was correct I dont deserve you...pls forgive me.
Jodha was lying motionless. Jalal remembers all the events of the past few days and how Jodha had been taunted, humiliated and not trusted by anyone.
Hours pass but Jalal sits watching her beside her waiting for her to gain conscious.
Hakim comes to examine her & says - This is not good...she has to come back to conscious or she will never recover.
Jalal gets very worried & sees Kanha in the mandir. He immediately goes near the temple takes off his footwear and lights the diya & says - I dont know how to do your puja but my Jodha begum who is lying on the bed dying has been your ardent devotee...pls save her. She has so much faith in you...you cant leave her today.Punish me for my mistakes but not her...Pls kanha.
Time passes Jalal again sits holding Jodha's hand. She continues to be unconscious...Jalal caresses her forehead looks at her lovingly and says- Come back Jodha begum...I need you...Mughal khandaan needs you. You cant leave us.
He makes her sit and hugs her and cries. Jodha rests her head on his shoulder and slowly gains conscious. The first word she utters - Shehenshah.
Jalal immediately breaks the embrace and cups her face. Jodha slowly opens her eyes.
Jalal - Jodha begum you are alright.
He hugs her again and caresses her hair. Oh Jodha begum thank god you are alive.
Jodha - Shehenshah you are safe You are alive. Thanks to god.
Jalal - Pls Jodha begum dont speak much you need rest.
He makes her lie back on the bed while Hakim comes & examines her and says she is safe and no more in danger.
Jalal thanks Allah & kanha for saving his Jodha and leaves from the room.
