Friends, I just dunno what to say. I have never before seen such an elaborate kheecho-fying of story tracks to fill day after day with faltoo episodes that are going nowhere!
Yesterday's episode was again one such 30-minute total time waste. I really am terribly demotivated to write on this one, so please forgive me if my update is not even half-decent. But here are the few highlights:
Adham's dialogue of assassination extends to ben as well as Abul Mali
Just in case we all thought that Adham (as per previous day) was only in a mood to kill Abul Mali, we came to know that he also wants to finish off Ben ... all this after she finishes of Jalal. As Jyoti remarked yesterday, all this was said to his henchmen in the middle of the garden, where curiously, when he talks no is there to eavesdrop, but when other more important characters talk there is always someone hovering to overhear! Strange garden. Anyway Adham fobbed off Maham saying he was discussing political affairs at Malwa.
In that case, should Maham not have become extremely suspicious that he is doing "some work" rather than idling time?
Jalal and Atga are still suspicious about Ben and her secrets?
Jalal was seen first staring at the arrow from Jodha's bow and thinking hard about it. Soon Atga walked in with a jewel box that he had pinched from Ben's room, and it was a locked secret box from the looks of it. They prised open the lock only to find motis inside the box. Jalal explained to all of us that despite his disbelief of Jodha he thought there would be merit in continuing to check out Ben! (So much for your great anti-Jodha pronouncements, my dear boy, obviously you are affected by what Jodha has been saying!)
Anyway, they decided to return the box after a fruitless search. Meanwhile however, Ben finding the box missing, thought it must have been Jodha the thief who took it! She told Zakira, the motis in the box all hide zeher!
So do we take it that Jalal was totally fooled, and that he did just a cursory examination of the box and contents and let slip something important because he and his men did a half-serious job?
He was concerned enough to pinch the box and examine it, but not serious enough to suspect all that was in it for zeher, knowing that Jodha had called Ben a vishkanya?
Ruq-Jalal-Jodha - and how the room vacating tamasha was righted
Ruq was seen with a bunch of bandhis supervising the evacuation of Jodha's room. Jodha was holding her Kanha but pleading with Ruq not to artificially bhujao the diya in the room (for that is a serious apshagun). She said it was OK only if the diya went off by itself but it should never be forcibly bhujao-ed!
Ruq deliberately decided to ignore that plea and shifted the diya elsewhere (but I suspect she too had a tinge of fear about shutting off the lamp so she did not actually do it!).
Meanwhile Jodha was seen outside her room in the garden surrounded by her baggage when Jalal came there and started with his sarcasm "Are you off to Amer now in your jealousy over Ben?". Jodha said simply "No, I've been evicted from my room by Ruq so that Ben can occupy it. That's all OK, I'm prepared to move out. But I just have the one plea not to put off that diya ..."
Jalal was seemingly concerned and furious, but he hid it well. He marched Jodha back into the room and accosted Ruq and said "I know the harem is your prerogative, and I cannot interfere, and even Maham here seems to reinforce that to me. But as regards Jodha being here, as of today this room belongs to me and not to the harem, and I can choose to let Jodha continue here. This room is no longer under your power, its mine." With that he replaced the diya also in its original posiition carefully.
But here then comes the twist! After having done the right thing by Jodha (no doubt because he cares for her) the conflicting angry feelings on Jodha surfaced in Jalal again and he added to Ruq "Your audha which you care so much about is lessened and not increased when you try to shift Jodha. It shows you are giving too much importance to someone who is not so important. Even though I have given her this room, but I am never going to visit here, nor see her face, even if she were dying." And with that he left the room.
Ruq fired Maham for giving such a poor room-shifting and audha-reducing idea! And Jodha was left telling Moti, "I have the room but I also have Jalal's hurts!".
Now in all this three clear things were visible in Jalal: One, he cared enough for Jodha inside his heart to want her not to shift and to value her diya. Two, his anger on the other hand made his spit fire at Jodha via some very insulting parting advice to Ruq to ignore Jodha. Three, it also showed me that he is somewhere afraid perhaps of angering Ruq? He seems always ready to give her some teda excuse to cool down (even at the cost of Jodha's dignity). So why is he so afraid of Ruq?
As for Ruq how much more stupid can a girl get? Yesterday Maham says "Jodha made you apply her lep as a servant" and she believed that twist. Today Jalal says "By shifting Jodha you lessen your audha" and she believed it. If she's that stupid, why does Jalal fear angering her? He should be forthright and ruthless, shouldn't he? If he is forceful with her, she would simmer down faster and more permanently, I feel, instead of jumping up and down every few days!
At the mehndi ceremony, Jodha falls on Ben and messes her up!
At the evening mehndi, there is first an elaborate gifting ceremony where Hamida names some of the key women who will participate and Jodha is one of them. One by one they touch the mehndi bowl before its application and give some of their gifts to the bride-to-be.
A rather silly conversation takes place between Ruq and Ben which smacks of a "mutual admiration society". Ben thankfully tells Ruq she will always hold her high in rank and accord her all the prestige due to her. Ruq tells Salima, that is how the haremites need to be. They need to be like Ben and not like some others (like Jodha?) who don't know their due place in the harem hierarchy!
Ruq derisively says "Even a bandhi knows who is what in this Palace, unlike some so-called begums". Meanwhile Jodha whose turn it is to appply mehndi comes forward reluctantly and promptly trips and falls on Ben messing up the mehndi already on her hands. Maham holds her ears in consternation annd declares it all to be an apshagun! With that the idiotic episode thank fully ends!
Folks, I still have my doubts if that was just an accidental fall or a deliberate ploy by Jodha to give ben a sanket!
The precap bhavishyavani brings another lollypop for impatient viewers!
As expected, whenever there is a deliberate kheecho-fying of the track, the viewers (especially the TRP aunties) are expected to get restive and impatient! So in typical style, the Creatives usually supply lollypops to keep the audience quiet for a few more episodes.
Thus yesterday we got another bhavishyavani lollypop to savour. A lady astrologer with parrot astrology apparatus said her parrot had picked a bad card for Ben - that she would hardly be the Shahenshah's bride even for a moment! All were shocked ...
... but none of us in the audience were. We've known that Ben would not go through with this shaadi; we've known Jodha will save Jalal; we've know all Jodha's eroded prestige, trashed by Jalal and Ruq and all and sundry, will be restored; we've known Ben will flee on a horse somewhere ... we've known, we've known, we've known all this for so long ... so why did we need this parrot business?
Creatives, you showed all the characters as brainless, and we kept quiet. You showed yourselves as brainless, and we kept quiet for that too. But now that you want to show us that we audiences too are brainless, we can't stand by watching.
There is a limit to which we take insults on our intelligence, (even if its your pastime to include insults between the characters)!
We've had enough, and many have left this serial in disgust. Please stay warned. The few of us left watching this serial do not have bottomless stores of tolerance to put up with week after week of crap!
If you won't draw the line, we soon will!
