@Alakh,Ariel and Sandy di: So true! I loved the old Ruqaiya! What they have done to her character now is just disastrous.
P.S : Sandy di,I have been advised by shraddha di to address you this way 😛

Lovely post aunty! I don't get time to reply to all your posts, but I do read most of them!😳
Jalal harping about Jo being jealous the whole while yesterday was stupid..with the situation being as serious as hundreds of people dying! He needs to get serious and start using his brains soon..atleast an ounce of doubt on Ben would be appreciated..
Ruqu gets swayed too easily..one day she listens to Jalal and the next day MA and next day goes around telling Jo she's going to be nice too her because Jo is good to her! I give up! She was plain rude in the last scene yest..
Haven't watched today's episode..I just hope the next week is the last I see of Benazir..this track has gone on for very long now!

My dear Bobby,

It a sad little knowing smile that touches only her eyes, not her lips. It can be interpreted in many ways,of course, but I can think of the following:

1) Sadness that just when she is moving towards actually wanting him to seek her company, he has (apparently) moved away from her for good.

2) The renewed conviction that this moving away is clearly linked to what happened that night, about which Jodha has of late reverted to her initial morning after feeling, that she had made a very bad mistake. Now the backlash seems to have become permanent, as if a door had been shut in her face, and she feels the rejection sharply. As Alakh said in her thread, what you sow, so shall you reap.

3) A kind of helpless dismay at things look to be spinning out of her control. Jodha just does not know how to set things right.

4) Lastly, perhaps, a faint hope that he really does not mean what he says but, as he accuses her of doing, means the opposite. When he says that he gives her no ahemiyat. When he says that the very sight of her disgusts him now. When he says that he will not turn back and look at her even if she was no more.

After all, she can see that his getting her rooms back to her has nothing to do with the ostensible reason he advances, preserving the zubaan he gave her regarding her freedom to practice her religion. She can worship her Kanha just as well in another hoojra.

No, he gets her back to her old rooms because he cannot bear that catch in her voice as she talks, with angry resignation, of her request that the diya be left to burn itself out was refused. He cannot stand her being so insulted. Nor can he bear it that she should think capable of such petty meanness.

Jodha, despite longstanding evidence to the contrary, is not a fool, and she can see all this and interpret it too.

What he says at the very end is like a child yelling at its mother I hate you! I wish you were dead! The words mean nothing. Only the anger and the hurt behind them mean a lot. And there is a lot of both. I do not think Jodha took them at all seriously.

I could not understand Jodha's expression clearly when Moti was telling her that Aapko bahot dukh hua hoga na. I felt there was some expression which was not very easy to decipher. She did not look sad even after listening to such harsh words from Jalal. Aunty or Lashy can you help me out here? You both are good at deciphering Jalal's expression. Give it a try with respect to Jodha too please.

Jalal was very harsh at the end of hojra vacate scene. I felt it was not needed at all. He could have just stopped at "I will never step inside your room" and went away. Why was the need for the next sentence. I myself was broken listening to his statement. But I was amazed to see how calm Jodha was. She has come a long way !!!. I want to know what she thought. Someone help me 😕

@ red : My feeling is that will happen. Heck the CVs will write her character in such a way that we will be rooting for that to happen. Already the forum is full of posts about how the real Ruku was not at all important in Akbar's life. See how easy it is to manipulate the minds of the audience? We will mix history and tv shows and make Tv shows real and alter the way we perceive historical texts and meanings.

In the show I feel Ruku will do something to endanger Jodha's life and Jalal will not forgive her for it and thus breaking that friendship for good. She will self destruct so badly that we will forgive Jalal for dumping her😆 and then she will change and join Jalal and the cheer leaders at the sanctum sanctorum of Jodha Mandir.😆

I feel that although the CVs can be ridiculous and brain dead at times what they are showing has bases in history...since it is a historical show that they researched for over a 1.5 years.

Plus what makes you say that Ruks had a large importance in Akbar's life, please do not say Wikipedia or some other online site...in various primary sources and chronicles Jodha/MUZ is shown as having much more influence/importance/power than Ruks.

I have personally never read any of these Chronicles, but from what I can gather from some of the researchers on the forum is that Jodha / MUZ had a lot of power, she was empress consort (Malika-E-Hind) not Ruks! Do you have reliable historical sources that say Ruks was more powerful than Jodha/MUZ... if you do please let me know.

You should probably read History_geek's threads on Jodha/MUZ's power/ importance here are the links below, you might be surprised by her power, and realize that the CVs are not distorting this part of history. I was surprised to find out that a Vishkanya was present in Agra, and this info can be found in the Akbarnama!

Thank you so very much!

I am a little doubtful it this is a compliment, as it seems to suggest the quote is an exception😉, but I will thankfully accept it as high praise!

I generally write as the spirit moves me. and whether it is satirical or, as here, emotional, depends on the kind of spirit.

Thank you for the links but I'm well aware of the posts here that talk of MUZ's importance. My intention is not negate her importance or the importance of those posts. Where in my post have I said anything about MUZ? The intent of my post is to say I am not inclined to think that the real Ruqaiya was grey as many in the forum are wont to believe. You are welcome to your beliefs as I am to mine. To me its sad that one queen is resurrected at the cost of another. History is always one man's perspective. I chose to take it with a pinch of salt irrespective of the source being chronicles or wiki, you can chose to see it however you please to.

Ofcurse it is a compliment, today the earlier post about Jodha not being a door mat and her expressions with Moti, well praise worthy. isnt it good directions too and Paridhi soo good. Remeber Jodha once saying to Bakshi about loosing oneself in love !! and this is also what is happening, isnt it

No more predictions hahaaa.

Jalal does what he does with respect to Jodha good or bad it is his right but there is a line he draws when it comes to others. We saw this during DEK and today as he won't allow others to hurt her, if anything he will pull the punches but no one else. You know till up to the point of placing the diya back in the mandir that was all the real him, it was no pretence, this was jalal of the old he was only thinking of his Jodha and her hurt. He walks up to Ruq his fingers on his exasperated face questioning her motive. He must be thinking here is Jodha pulling her tricks against ben because she is jealous of her, both his wives resorting to underhanded tactics to get rid of women they are jealous of. Back to the scene he is stern and commandingly hands back Jodha her room. I liked that touch with the diya when he looks back to her to check he is doing it right. Jalal was all sincerity when he warns Ruq of her behaviour. I fear he is going to keep warning her till the end as he is on this love track with Jodha, but Ruq is not going to stop and Jalal with throw this caricature out of his life too bad for her as she is such a character and writers will drag her integrity thru the gutter. Jalal does not find it at all pleasing that any begum act in such a way unbecoming of his queen and it was a genuine scolding like it was for Jodha as he wrongly assumes that they are resorting to dirty games. He might find it pleasing that they get jealous and fight over him but everything in its limit. He knows this chastising of Ruq won't be enough to stop her and he is back to reality of how to handle I am still pissed at Jodha and Ruq is pissed at me. Jalal adds some melodrama dialogues in conclusion which no one will believe he really means just to close the subject and storms off.

Two dialogues standing out, first Jalal claiming in the end he will never step foot in the hojra again. But we all know he will be back in no time to a sick Jodha bed side, however as per the earlier scene will his things also have been be officially moved as per his command or was he just talking to the air, I am guessing that is just a throwaway dialogue used to make a point. The second one is just as silly I wont even see her face if she dies, give me a break. These two dialogues is what I would call flashback dialogues they don't really mean anything in actuality, but purposefully created by the writers for Jalal to replay again and again and again and again and again when Jodha is dying and he is drowning in guilt and tears.

Love ur very apt & catchy title, Aunty 😆 . But yes, I agree completely.

I admit I was not too fond of seeing Jalal s postshove avtar towards Jodha, however much it was justified on his side ya how much needed it was to wake up Jo to some hometruths. But finally I ve understood this is needed to balance out Jo s past abominable behaviour to Jalal . From a viewer s point of view, that too the minority few who condemned Jo s ghrina avtar, I atleast will be satisfied when the love track comes up , that both the characters r balanced out more or less, whether in flaws or fortes. Jalal has already proved himself a lambe race ka winning ghoda & now Jodha might prove herself the very slow & steady winning tortoise, what say 😉

I dont agree either to this idea of Jodha packing off her bags to Amer at the smallest seeming slight shown to her( And today she voiced it too that she won't be welcomed there) . In fact am astounded at such thinking. And regarding Jalal s bashing here, when is he not bashed? He s bashed if he s nice & bashed more if he s not all that good. Nothing new in that I ve concluded. So now I ve learnt to ignore those one sided view posts & enjoy the show for what it is.

Jo s never been a doormat nor is she being one now & in future also, I dont see her being any kind of carpet either 😛 . Good for her & for us too I d say 😉 . And after seeing today's epi, ek umeed ke kiran jaga that Jalal also might not become too much a brainless puppy, but can never believe these CVs. Let s see.

Loved that the hojra MU was nipped in the bud & so adroitly too by Jallu. But Ruqs, sighhh, they ve managed to blacken her up too well in this track. Pity that , bcos I liked her character so far.

Jo did seem expressionless when Jalal said those words of not seeing her even if she dies & I wondered about it too. But when Moti nudges her about it, flat monotone mein hi sahi 😆 , tab I thought there was a hint of sadness in Jo s face.

Regarding the promo, well , too many of JA s promos have been misleading, so dont know how it would be played out this time. But I so hope Jalal s onto something too & plays some active part in the track end . Sigh, we hope & the CVs just dash those hopes in one swipe . But still cant stop watching JA despite all this 😳 .

Thanks, Aunty 😊
