Shyamala, pinch me as I cannot believe what I read in your post. You are praising Jodha.😉
I felt the exact same way that Jodha is for the first time showing signs of being in love. Her self esteem and everything else is disappeared or she has put it on the back burner. There is a good reason for it. Is self esteem more important than somebody's life? Specially the one you love, the one you took oath to protect and be on their side no matter what?
This is all happening because of what Jalal did for Jodha in the past. Jodha is now able to appreciate whatever Jalal did for her in the past, and she knows that Jalal is lost because of a MU.
Ruqu asking her to leave Jodha was so petty. But, the way Jodha reacted to it was just marvelous. She knew it was meant to put her down and also assumed it was done with Jalal's approval. But, she willingly accepted to take the blow. As protecting her self respect is NOT the top priority. Even the idea of Jalal insulting her to this extent did not deter her from the mission - Applaud for this new Jodha. The danger is hanging in Jalal's head, ready to attack him anytime. Only a selfish person would worry about getting even on their insult rather than worrying about the impending danger of your beloved.

Jodha will more than get back to folks who demean her including Jalal after this danger is out. Right now she is genuinely concerned about Jalal, and that care touches my heart like nothing of Jodha did ever!

I loved your post today, agree completely with your take on Jodha!

But it really annoys me how she lets Rukaiya put her down every time.. Shove or no shove.. Like jalal is her personal property or something and she is under some sort of a contractual agreement. I just don't get Rukaiya's attitude either. What's with her fixation with the auda? Doesn't anyone tell her that in Islam all four wives are to be given equal status..

Rukaiya's insecurity is annoying.. ugh

I hadn't watched the show for a long time. But, the end of this track and the *rosy* prediction lured me back to watch these few episodes.

Neither a Persian doormat nor a laundryman's donkey, merely a Shehenshah's devoted wife -- of course, de-voted (if ever I felt a need to *invent* a word, it's today) as a preferred wife today by the Shehenshah -- who wants to ensure the longevity of her suhaag.

Of course, he would have picked today to spew his bitterness. Tsk tsk ... He ought to have consulted the parrot before mouthing his words. The parrot would have picked a card that read, "You will eat your words before the sevaiyan."

well aunty, the only thing i can pray tht things dont turn melodramatic after benz chapter gets over. already CVs had turned jalal into a total lallu & after today its clear tht jalal is totally clueless. all the insults which jodha is facing is just the trailer of the film which we will get to see in future tracks. jalal will cry buckets & buckets & repent for his "gunah-e-azim" & jodha will be established as the ultimate caring wife of jalal. but im not surprised bcoz this is the ultimate formula of K-serials where the hero have to be dumb & heroine have to be insulted for the ultimate realization. so those who r crying for jodha being a "doormat" should be actually happy bcoz jalal will be all in repenting mode & jodha will be back in her commanding position. i only wish jalal says sorry in front of the whole DEK & repents for his rudeness but in a dignified way, not in a over melodramatic way. at the same time i want jodha to answer back jalal firmly but with dignity & not with rudeness. i also feel the letter should be out in the near future, bcoz as much as jalal needs to know wht was exactly written on the letter, at the same time jodha also needs to know tht jalal cant read, bcoz she also has MU tht maybe jalal tried to force himself on her tht night. i can just hope the future tracks should be sensible enough where both jalal & jodha will be shown as strong & smart characters not as dumb & doormats.

Ruqaiya on her first ever meeting with Jodha had said that she knew only aasmaan choonewaali baathein and not zameeni hakeekathein. The Shivaani fiasco gave Jodha a sense of belonging with her sasuraal and this Letter,Shove and Ben makes her realise Jalal's importance in her life which are the ground realities that she had to learn and accept. Else her character sketching would have been woefully short of Jalal's.

Jalal had always pampered her inspite of her repeated taunts and riling. Within that ring of safety she was safe. Now that Jalal has lifted the ring, she stands nowhere in Agra. This is something that she had to realise badly. His importance as her husband and his status as an Emperor was something that she constantly didn't care for. But now she will...hopefully. If she is going to go back on only kartavya mode... it will leave a distinct distaste.

But as of now Jodha is lovely. This tenacity and determination of Jodha now, strong on her purpose with least care for the resistances and discourtesy by others is the real display of strength in her, not weakness. When she was rude and insolent herself , could you call it courage or strength? Was that the kind of strength that marks a woman of substance? I admire Jodha for what she is now, just as I loved Jalal for his grit and perseverance during the fake pregnancy track. Forbearance and fortitude calls for higher inner strength than screaming your rights. Forgivness, they say is the zenith of bravery and perseverance with purpose in mind its best display. Jodha is at her strongest best now as Jalal has been all along since the suicide attempt.

As Alakh had written in her post, everything is on a reverse mode now. Go die anywhere except in Amer...I won't look at you even if you breath your last.

Also...

I am chinthith only for Bapusa(meaning you are not important) ...Ruqaiya don't lessen your importance by giving her importance.

Jalal's love was seen by Jodha as Stree ke liye Laalsa after confession and vasna poorthi before it ...Jodha's love is seen by Jalal as jalan.

Jalal faces the tiger for Jodha because of Jodha's folly and is on death bed... Jodha faces the poison for Jalal because of Jalal's folly (in his 'jalan' theory) and fights death.

Jalal faces insults and accusations from Jodha and even from the rest of his family and stands to protect her honour ... Jodha faces insults and taunts from Jalal and Ruqaiya and MA and stands to protect his life.

In fake pregnancy track Jalal ko Jodha ki nafrat Qubool tha. She mattered more. Now Jodha ko Jalal ki grina Qubool hai. He matters more.

But Jalal didn't waver or go back on his affections till the Shove inspite of the tiger attack and never blamed her. Will she be as gracious? If she is then, the love story will get a semblance of balance and give a good feel.

Jalal's statement to Atgah Khan of some work before nikaah, his telling HB that his parents had given him enough courage to play with all kind of dangers were a ray of hope yesterday. But his checking Ben's Hojra with Atga Sahib doesn't jell with it though...looks like they are not aware yet. I hope that he atleast suspects her to be Abul Mali's spy if not vk. (though his confidence in Tasneem track and telling HB that he knows and will take care and finally doing nothing still gnaws my zehen).

After Jodha accused Benazir of being a Vishkanya, Ben and Zakira actually fled fearing that if the king was poisoned, they will be caught. This being the case if Ben will dare to harm the Emperor in full view, with or without AK's help is still a strange possibility

Why didn't Salima confirm the bazaar talks to Jalal yesterday? Again to give Jo full credits as she wanted...Wouldn't that have made the case stronger...Salima's words are given weightage by Jalal.

Jalal as of now is not wrong as a husband. But he has failed as an Emperor. Though it is shown that he has taken measures to check out, yet given his brilliance, you expect much better out of him. If indeed he knew nothing, (as seems to be the case so that heroine-halos will shine brightest) then we'll have to prepare ourselves for the Jodha Anthems, Jodha Mahals and Jodha Coins in Agra. Moreover his stating he doesn't want to look at her even if it were her last is a glaring revelation of what is to come. This is going to be the bg repeat wala dialogue like mh's dialogue on mohabbat bringing an emperor on knees. We are sure to hear these two dialogues alternatively in the bg as we have a remorseful Jalal self-whipping himself for Jodha's plight and going on his knees in prayers. By then his love tutor may be back from war to give him more enlightment on Mohabbat. Like you I also hope it is done with dignity and grace from all, esp Jalal and Jodha.😕 Else we'll have to leave our sensitivities along with our brains in the freezers between 8 and 8:30 and watch the show only for Rajat. .

Very well said Sandhya. As for Jalal and his investigation - dont loose hope yet as he does not seem to believe Benazir fully from the look after Atgah left - He was looking for proof in her room and he realised that he found nothing - does not mean he has stopped looking - as per spoilers he does get to knw of her truth before the Nikaah - so let us hope since this search too came up zilch.

As for the post poison track - I think Jalal ka statement maybe an indication. In fact, now I seriously hope the Cvs get Jalal to do what he said today - not step into Jodha's room and not see her face even if she is dying - even though it will kill him to do so. Let him do everything needed to be done but let him not step into her room - not out of anger but out of the pain - that she did it for duty since that is what she has made him believe - she still refuses to accept that she is doing all this becoz she cares - she is still calling it all names except the real one - And this act of hers will be the final nail that makes him really believe that she is doing her duty as she promised to her Maasa, Bapusa, Saasuma and all other sundry!!!

Srry if I sound sadistic but that is the only way for Jodha's eyes to open to the truth - becoz only she can now undo what she has done - made him believe that he is only a duty which is bloody sad.

Aunty i didnt like jodha standing here like that bearing all the insults n all ..she is fighting for jalal so she doesnt need a hoot o care abt them ...she shud speak up...she need to stand for self n restore her self respect by herself otherwise noone will respect u..
If u have seen my comments u must have seen that m against the idea of her leaving for amer...ur points is diiff here (i.e saving her husband life n she is not coward to leave) but that amerians also rejected her...

@ red : The Ruku that Jalal called his gatti is long gone. The Ruku that you and I defended and tried to understand is also long gone. So is the Ruku who moved heaven and hell to send a message to Jalal that his life was in danger while he was traveling. So is the one who said Jalal should go to the Dargah with Jodha so that he will always be blessed and that is what the priest wanted.

Like aunty said this Ruks is a caricature. The CVs are making sure we all hate her and its working really well. They must have trolled the forum to see we dont exactly hate her yet. So they went all out and made her a slave to her audha. Even I am flabbergasted. The heroine has to be the best. God Forbid the hero fall in love with someone who is not. 😆
