I guess that a wife should be insulted and humiliated publicly for denying conjugal rights to her husband...
Of course she pushed him that night ( he fell because he was drunk) and for that she should be humiliated publicly and Abul Mali's mistress should be respected...Of cource it is husband's right that he should taunt her for her sister's running away and conveniently forget what his own sister did to her and she never taunted...
All in all a woman falls in love when she is insulted and humiliated...becoz it is a pay back time for her...

But But does it justify Jalaal's act of shouting wide open in DEK in front of everyone as to how she never satisfied ANY duty of a wife?????
Is physical relationship the only aspect of married life?
So entire Agra needed to know this?
Jalaal disappointed me big time today. I was open mouthed meghna.
Its Jo -Ja that brought me here.
But am hating how the creative have managed to massacre both characters at different points in time.

well look both ja-jo did the same mistakes. even jodha discussed whether jalal had a separate tent or not with a random "bandi", not moti. look definitely marriage is not about physical relationship, but even in worst situations jalal havent forced her. if adham was in place of jalal, we can guess wht would have happened to her. in those days a husband wouldnt have waited for anything, but jalal had given her tht space. actually if we minutely watch both of them r same in many ways. both have their ego, both have their guds & bads.

Meghna- great analysis and true on many levels. From a real life perspective, I absolutely agree- no Shehenshah would have tolerated this type of Jodha all these months. But in serial land- in a world where Jalal is told to have promised Jodha that he will not touch him (I know they never showed that) then we cannot hold that against Jodha now.
I am also not sure if jodha's behavior early on was completely her fault-there was the mandir attack, the unfair killing of suryaban, and the MC accusal- reasons for her to be rude to Jalal. It was not just the political marriage as per the movie. And the serial Jalal tolerated it. that was how he was already characterized so not sure if I am convinced that suddenly he becomes a pure 16th century king and behaves the same way.

I think Jodha has done a quite a bit for Jalal in the serial as a wife- she took the care to cook for him, supported him emotionally when BB was found guilty for the fake pregnancy, helped him find his awaam's love, and saved his marriage with Ruks. Compare that to what Ruqs has done in the serial.

On Jalal's end, he helped her sister's wedding and saved her in the fake pregnancy. Just as the fake pregnancy track was a turning point for Jodha, the suicide track served as the same for Jalal.

I still don't know who won and who lost from the tiger track. The same with the suicide track- I think it was Jalal's duty to save her. Am I missing something else that Jalal did for her in terms of unconditional support?

That being said, while I don't think it is a fair payback especially in public- this track has been important for Jodha to recognize how much she appreciates Jalal's respect and support.

With both Jalal and Jodha in the dumps, it hopefully can only go up now. It is about time the story moves from them being against each other to fighting odds together.

Ela,
I knew today's episode would upset you and so would my review. Its because you are seeing it only from Jodha's or modern day woman's perspective. Its hard to keep the count and there is no point in it, but Jodha insulted Jalal many times by her bitter tongue. She accused him of being lustful many times. Just because she was Jalal's favorite she got away with everything. Can you imagine in those days any woman would dare to do what Jodha did. It was not just refusing physical contact, but her constant bitter tongue that did it.
Yes, it should not have been brought in public. But Jodha was praised in public many times, Jalal asked for forgiviness in public also. Today Ruqu started it and Jalal supported her. He did not support Jodha like he always did, why? It was because of Jodha's constant pushing Jalal away.

ok lets see it in a neutral way. look from jodha's point of view it was not wrong to deny physical relations, bcoz jalal was her enemy. 2ndly, if we think about the shove tht time jodha had started to accept jalal in her own way, so jalal's advance towards her was like a shock for her. but at the same time we cant deny tht jalal never forced himself on jodha & in those times it was a big thing. no husband whether its a mughal or rajvanshi would wait for his wife to say yes. if it was adham in jalal's place we can guess wht had happened to her. if we minutely analysis each & evry track till now both r same in many ways. well regarding the DEK scene, shouting in front of all was definitely too much, but his words were not wrong. & as per the trust issue, even moti, her best friend & HB who was always with her didnt believed her in this "vishkanya" issue. obviously, jalal is doing wrong things & he will repent for it for sure, but at the same jodha should also learn to be smart. she should have took HB or salima's help, when cheapuddin send her the letter. 2ndly, she shouldnt have left moti behind when she followed benz during shivaratri & 3rdly. she shouldnt have confronted benz directly. both jalal & jodha have many to things to learn from this track.

If you hear Ruqu's dialogues of that scene she was going so strong and worked up and on the verge of blurting of Jodha having pushed her husband away - imagine what would have happened to Jodha if that accusation ever comes up in public - and Jodha being Jodha would not have refuted it!!! - Jodha ki 'hail hossana' trio of HB, Jiji anga and GB would have also become anti her - TE just averted Ruqu blurting that out thus keeping things under wraps!!!

Thanks Divya. 😊
You have written everything so beautifully and clearly. Yes, till MC track Jodha had her reasosn to hate Jalal. But, why that continued after asking for forgiveness in public/private and giving her option to go back to Amer? She was pretty rude to him even during the sukanya wedding track. She never thanked him whole heartedly for finding a groom or saving her sisters marriage. It was only after the pregnancy track that we saw Jodha stop using the GHRINA word. Till then she overused it to the extent it almost was a surprise when she did not. He was willing to get down the thrown so that Jodha could keep her religion. He celebrated her bday grandly and put it as his ammijaan's wish. Even for what Jodha did during tiger attack was somehting that would not be forgived easily. It was a huge blunder. She asked Jalal to go away and die somewhere else, but still nothing from Jalal. She has gotten away with many accusations and bitter words. To some extent it was CVs fault.
By payback I meant, Jodha should realize how tough it is when Jalal is not on her side. As Jalal was on her side even though she did not do anything in the past to earn that support. Yes, I agree the public part was bad. But, then when he could publicly appreciate her many times and ask for forgiveness. Then I guess this also not totally unreasonable.

Just answer me very honestly and without favauring any character-----Did Jo ever insulted Jallu in the same manner or to the same extent and same no of times...

And I unlike that Jalal ( oh yes I do think very lowly abt him) can differentiate between right and wrong...The truth is Jalal does not respect women...Period...
