Hey sorry for not posting more for so long.i am extremely sorry for that.i am also sorry for not informing you about that earlier.i had an exam and then I was travelling.i did visit the forum but could not manage time to write more.SORRY.

chapter 38-unexpected happenings

part 1

bhagwantdas reached the spot and saw jalal standing under the tree.he walked towards him and called out his name.jalal did not respond.

"we both will have to forget each other"kept on running in his mind and broke his heart beyond repair.

bhagwantdas,not getting any response,tapped on jalal's shoulder and called him again.

jalal turned around and was shocked to see bhagwantdas.he hadn't noticed his presence before.

"when did you come"he asked in utmost bewilderment.

"shehanshah,i was searching for you in the market when the gaurd told me that you went towards the lake.so i thought of coming here.sorry for taking so long.i did not wish for you to wait so long."he replied apologetically

"it is alright.i thought you would take long so decided to roam around myself."he said in a put off tone.

"shehanshah i am extremely sorry.should we proceed further?"

"no.i think i have seen plenty for the day"

he said so and made his way back towards the palace.

jodha rushed to her room upon reaching the palace.she did not bother to meet or see anyone.all she wanted was to stay alone and curse her disposition.

she entered her room and threw herself on the bed.tears flow down her eyes in an endless stream.her words hurt herself more than they hurt jalal.

why are you doing this to me kanha?why did i have to say all that to shehanshah?why did you make me fall for him,when,eventually you had to take him away.

rani mainavati was worried."why hasn't jodha returned yet" she thought.she was assesing her decision to have let jodha go when sukanya entered inside.she saw her mother pacing back and forth,wearing a worried expression.

"maasa what happened?why do you look so worried?"sukanya asked her mother

rani mainavati stopped and turned towards sukanya" sukanya I am very worried.jodha has been gone for so long.it wont be long before the sun sets. maybe I should not have agreed to sending her"

"maasa why are you so worried?she has gone out with her soon-to-be husband.there is nothing that you should be worried about.she must be on her way back."

their conversation was interrupted by jodha herself.jodha had decided to get out of her room lest everyone starts noticing her odd behavior.she had promised herself to act normal and not let anyone know about what had happened.

"maasa"she called out to her mother from a distance.although she was extremely glum she tried her level best to act normal

rani mainavati smiled and walked towards her daughter.she embraced her and said"oh jodha I got so worried.i am glad that you are okay."

tears welled up in her eyes, seeing which, sukanya said "oh ho maasa,why are you crying and ruining the perfect atmosphere.jiji is right here.by the way,jiji,how was your visit to the lake?"

the rest of the evening passed in rani mainavatis room.jodha was forced to answer all of her sisters questions and tell so many lies

jalal had come back from the lake.he had decided that no matter what he had to do something.he decided to talk to raja bharmal the follwing day and tell him about his love for jodha.he knew that it was not the best thing to do but it was the last hope.

it was the evening of jodhas mehndi.(it is the evening og the next day.also,i do not know a lot about wedding traditions.so just making a guess about the mehndi).shivani and sukanya were getting jodha ready for the function.they made her wear a pink outfit which made her look incredibly beautiful.they adorned her with pretty jewellery.

shivani picked up the anklet kept on the table and exclaimed with dissappointment "jiji this is not the anklet that maasa gave.i must have forgotten it in my room.i will go and look for it there.maasa will be extremely angry if she does not see jiji wearing it"

"of course she would be angry.she specifically got it made for jiji's mehndi.you go and look for it in your room and i will try to find it here"

shivani agreed and left the room.

sukanya sat down beside jodha and rummaged on the table for the anklet.

"jiji i know its very stupid of me to ask you this,but are you happy with this wedding.i do not know but i think there is something that is bothering you.swear upon me and say that you are happy with the wedding."she said still searching for the anklet.

"sukanya"jodha said fumbling

"i found it"sukanya said ecstatically.she was so joyous that she forgot about the question

"thank god i found it.jiji i will just come in a minute.shivani must have gone crazy trying to find it.i will tell her that i got it."sukanya said this and left the room.

jodha was now alone in her room.she stood up and looked at herself in th mirror.

"I wish I could get ready like this to get your name etched on my hand.i wish all these celebrations could be for our unison.i wish I could be yours shehanshah."jodha said with a deep and glum voice.

she moved towards the balcony of her room and looked towards the sky.she shut her eyelids,causing a tear to fall down from her eye.

jalal was crossing jodha's room to meet raja bharmal when he saw jodha standing in her balcony.the moonlight,in its full glory,fell on jodha's face making her look ethereal.

jodha felt jalal's presence and opened her eyes and looked down.she saw jalal standing there,looking at her.

both of them looked at each other with strong emotions of love,desperation and helplessness.there was no need to say anything.it was their eyes that explained it all.
