chapter 37-the conversation
Jalal pulled Jodha towards the side.they were now under a tree away from everyone else.
"jodha tum yeh kya kar rahi ho" he said.his voice,today,had all the pain he had been feeling ever since he heard of her wedding news.(jodha what are you doing)
jalal addressed jodha in a different way today.he talked to her in a way he had never done before.he talked to her as if he had authority over her.
jodha did not know what to say.she was not prepared for an answer.she looked into jalal's eyes and tears fell down from her eyes.
"humara vivaah hone ja raha hain"she said and looked down.(I am about to get married)
"kya tum use pyaar karti ho"he asked her.(do you love him?)
jodha did not reply.she could not say that she loved him and did not want to marry suryabhan.
jalal held jodha by her shoulders and asked her to look into his eyes.
"jodha kya tum us se pyaar karti ho?batao mujhe"he pressed her to answer(do you love him?answer me)
"us se koi farak nahi padta"she said,still not facing him(it does not matter)
"kya tum mujhe bhulkar us insaan se nigah kar logi"jalal was not willing to let go.
"haan.kyunki hum aapko bahut ache se jaante nahi ki bhulne ki zaroorat pade"she said trying to sound convincing(yes because I do not know you so well that I will have the need to forget you)
"kyaan jo main soch raha tha wo galat hai.kya humara barish mein bhigna kuch nahi tha.kya mera tumhe un jagao ko dikhana kuch nahi tha.jodha main manta hu ki humne ek dusre ke saath itna samay nahi bitaya par main tumse pyaar karta hoon aur isme kuch galat nahi hain.chahe kuch bhi ho jaaye main tumhe nahi jaane doonga kyunki main jaanta hoon ki tum bhi mujhe chahti hon.kyu tum do dilo ko tod rahi ho.{" was it wrong to think that way.did it mean nothing to get drenched in the rain together?did it mean nothing when I showed you all those places.jodha I know that we have not spend a great del of time together but I love you and there is nothing wrong in that.i wont let you go.i know that you love me as well.why do you want to break two hearts")
jodha turned around.she was facing the tree now.
"mat boliye ye sab kyunki na chahte huye bhi hum kuch nahi kar sakte"(don't say all this because I cannot do anything)
she sat down on her knees.
jalal calmed down by now.jalal sat beside her and put his hand on her shoulder
"jodha jab koi cheez pareshani deti hain to us se apne aap ko door kar lena chahiye.tumhe pata hain ki jab se mujhe tumhare nigah ki khabar mili hain meri kya halat huyi.aur pata hain kyun hui.kyunki main jo mehsoos karta hoon tumhare liye wo mujhe tumhe kisi aur ke saath nahi dekhne dega"(jodha when something troubles you then its best to distance yourself from it.do you know that, ever since I heard about you wedding,what I have been through?do you know why?because what I feel for you would not let me see you with someone else.)
