I think this serial is going overboard with Jodha's reactions.
First she misbehaves with an emperor in front of his citizens, soldiers and maids etc
Then she tells him in amer she is only bothered about her family izzat not even his life(after attack by elephant etc too)
No husband in 21st century leave alone an emperor in 15th century will take such insults from a wife.
So many times jalla told if she does ot love him to leave agra and go back but that also she does not do. Least jalal will expect her to respect and behave with dignity with him.
Today crossed all limits instead of speaking to him and clarifying he misunderstood about her letter and clearing his doubt what does Jodha do push him to the ground?
Which human let alone an husband will bear such insults that too when he thinks she called him with a love letter(it may be wrong but for jalal that is the truth right)?
Jodha forgets jalal is not only her husband he is an emperor and even if he sneezes it becomes news in entire agra.
Now to insult jalal what if maham speads news that jodha rejected him or pushed him so hard he landed on floor. That will make jalal feel more insulted.
Jodha should have rejected his advances but in more sophisticated ways. She is a princess not some women from a low family who will fight/push/shout at husband or any other family member. She must understand that. Then she says mughals are jallads, jalla is jallad. Where has jalal ever crossed his limits(Ok sometimes in anger he holds her hurtingly) as a husband/human being?
From starting jodha does not behave like a educated princess in her interactions especially with jalal in this serial. This must change. An emperor cannot be shown being physically manhandled by his wife even in a serial.
If something like this would truly happen to akbar he would have killed his wife then and there for sure in 15th century to avenge his insult.When anarkali was buried alive just for smiling at salim and akbar catching a glimpse we cannot imagine if such insult had happened what akbar would do?
Yes this is a serial and is all fiction but its on a real person. So we cannot show things that will never ever happen in dreams forget reality in a show i feel. If jalal wants to take revenge now for the insult it will only be a mild retaliation going by 15th century standards of behaviours from an emperor who was not known to be forgiving of insults.
Sample these reactions of real akbar
Once a king made akbar wait for 5 minutes and akbar had him whipped.
Once akbar asked salim to join him to swim in ganges on spate and he was scared to join in. Akbar ordered him into ganges and punished him. Salim was a kid then.
There are many such instances. Even kings were scared to talk in front of akbar and so its unbelievable a secondary wife will behave so with jalal/akbar. You can read rajput chronicles since its recorded there not in mughal records.
Please CVs next time think some logic do not go by 21st century ways of a wife behaving with husband. That was 15th century where wife would not dare talk forget raise voice in front of husband let alone if he is an emperor.
We understand the message you want to say akbar gave freedom to his wives and treated them as equals but that does not mean he falls to such an extent that we will not have any respect for him. People will only respect those who respect themselves not fall to any extent to get love of a wife when they have many more wives who are ready to do anything for their husband.
