In humayun nama..on..page-127...Gulbadan begum explains that..type of dress.

It is NOT from Arabian Nights 😆as many forum friends are claiming..😆
Such dresses existed called--> "nimtaana",😕 "karatiji".😕..
what sort of names r they..?

Also a gown type dress did exist, which was quoted earlier..if am not wrong than that dress is called 'Evening Dew' or shabnam/ Dhaka ka Malmal.this came from Dacca(Dhaka, Bangladesh.)..

Rest thngs cnt b quoted here.in public interest..😊

Yeah exactly,I referred to no specifics here as all of them would be censored in public interests by the censor board of the forum.😆the evening clothes were made of material Dhaka malmal called shabnam..

Abu fazl lists some flowers used in the harem for extracting perfume and use of skin ointments as-
Sewti,mogra,champa juhi,molsari,nargis,kewra ,ratan manjari,kaner ,gulab..

Abu fazl tells us that the mughal empire imported silks from China and Persia.he says that material like kimkhab,katan,tafta,ambari,tasser and makhmal were imported from Europe,Turkey,Portugal,Herat etc.so one can the opulence of the mughal empire through this..it is also said that no royal lady repeats her dresses..I was amazed..

Just for the Info, the Specialty of Dhaka Malmal or Musleen is that it is an almost transparent material and which in water becomes invisible ...(Also can pass through a ring).Also, the best quality of such musleen was procured when woven by adolescent girls of a particular age😊.
The serial NG cannot be Malmal/Sabnam in reality as it is quite opaque...😆

She never converted to Islam. Her palace in fatehpur sikri was decorated with Hindu gods and Akbar also had a temple built for her in the palace. Just like in the serial, she also had a tulsi plant in the harem for daily rituals. Read the posts on these links for more referenced info on JA:

Enjoy 😊
