My dear Abhi,

I agree with you re: @blue, for Jodha is nothing if not conscientious. However, the running there will have to be done by Jalal. He has to balance his relationship with his two most important Begums. As I wrote in this post, I think he handled it very well on Thursday, after the head massage scene.

Shyamala wednesday & Thursday episodes are much better in execution and taking forward the story.

Good to see Jodha-Ruqu friendship and pure emotions between them. Hope this relationship continues at least till few episodes. Jodha without hesitation gave message to Jalaal first willingly, she is getting attracted towards jalaal, but very much knows how much Ruqu possessive towards Jalaal and she is not only Khas-Begum, but also Jalaal best friendship.

I think in future also even if Jodha falls in love with Jalaal, she is first think about Ruqlal relationship, she will try to not come between them.

My dear Jaya,

I am glad you are with me on all of this, for as you know, I value your opinions a lot. I still remember that wonderful snake and rope parallel you gave to explain Jodha's actions.

@blue.
Your explanation is the right one, for Jalal was clearly waiting for Ruqaiya in his rooms. He did not expect Jodha at all, whereas when she turned up in Amer he knew it could be no one else.

Yes, the jung against Sharifuddin was a "if you blink you will miss it" sort of affair. No budget for even a mini war, that is clear! They should make the Jodha Akbar team look at the new Mahabharat for ideas. That is said to be a 100 crore production, but one can see where the money went!

Lastly, as for the decrepit maulvi, Jaya, while your general proposition would of course be true in many cases, in this one, it will not hold. He says clearly that when he got married. BOTH he and his shareek-e-hayat were underage!

Shyamala, I completely agree with you on all the parts.

I didn't had teh slightest hope that the 3 were together in the plan to outsmart Adham/Maham. The fact is that even now, Jalal doesn't know that his Badi ammi is a conspirater.
I just could not make out how Jalal could think it was ruqaiaya when all the times, even without seeing her, he used to recognize Jodha and ask for her complain? Is it because now there ws no reson for Jodha to approach him mad ehim think it could be Ruqu? Or was it Ruqu's scheduled day / night with Jalal which Jodha tresspassed? Anyway, I lioked the way it turned out be a pleasant one with both ruqaiya & Jodha on cordial terms. And I am sure now that they will be friends (though will have some ups & downs in that relation also).
The irony is that for the king to reach out to market place, it takes him 2 episodes while an full pledged war with the rebellions takes 30 to 60 seconds and we have one of the gaddari in the court immediately.
But whatever you felt as joke that the Maulvi lamenting about his divorce may not be a Joke. It could be a reality given the details to what Jalal witnessed in the market place, the 7 or 8 year old girl was getting married to an almost 50 years or more. Tht was the reason he felt for the new law and not just for Tasneem. The maulvi would have married a young girl (may be 10 years back) who must be of the age of 17- 18 years now (at the time of new law). There ueed be marriages for convenience when a wife died (in major cases during child birth due to annemia or complications) the man used to get married agains to care of his kids and end up with few more kids.😆😆😆

Thank you for the pat, my dear, I am constantly amazed when I get any such thing right!

As for the Sharifuddin affair being an "if you blink, you will miss it" affair, I am sure there is no budget for even a miniwar! Besides, it would not look good for Jalal to go after him, personally, as if there was no one else.Exactly what Mahaam rightly says when there is the revolt in Malwa and they finally send Adham.

As for Jodha being Mahaam's Hate No.1, that is to be expected, as she hates Rajputs generically, as Sharifuddin now claims to do.But the interesting thing is that she is now bitterly disappointed vis a vis Jalal for having, as she imagines, plotted with Jodha nd Ruqaiya to do Adham down and outwit her. Earlier, she had a separate compartment of loyalty and affection for Jalal, so long as Adham's fortunes were not at stake, as when she explains to Adham why she spoke up for Jalal to the maulvis in the butparasti crisis.

This loyalty will slowly be eroded from now on, I feel, and she will feel freer to act directly against Jalal, of course if she can do that without getting caught.

13th and a Friday Shyamala !! 🤗 yeah and a pat too for getting it right !
I too,was pleasantly pleased with the scenes of Jodha-Jalal, then Jalal-Rukaiya and lastly Jodha-Rukaiya. Well scripted and well enacted ! Maham,Resham scene was a bit too melodramatic for my liking, esp Resham's shivering profile. But i understand the need ,maybe is to impress upon us how much MA's hatred towards Jodha has increased. [an intangent thought- till how long is Jo to be the aim, prey or target? repetitiveness results in dullness]
Now why Shamshuddin affair so quickly cut? I,for one, so wanted Jalal to hunt him down, show off some of his sword skill??!! but alas 😒
Here's hoping to an enjoyable track NOW!
Cheers.

I was glad to have had your company on the Jalal issue, my dear, especially since we were in a miniscule minority! As you will see from my other responses above, I too am quite dismayed by this unnecessary zero sum game approach to Jalal and Jodha.

As for Jalal not being able to recognise that it was not Ruqaiya, I think he was waiting for her in his rooms - you will remember that she turns up very soon thereafter. So he assumes that it was her, and then he was not expecting Jodha at all, as she would have had nothing to complain about! That is the best I can do for him😉

I will stay with Jodha Akbar to the end, for when I compare it with the very few others that I watch, it is still the best thing going. If it gets to be too disjointed, I will simply save my time and yours and avoid commenting on it!

Thank you for your concern, my dear, but I am still in bad shape, with a sinus attack to boot. I am just waiting for this low level misery to get tired of me and move on!😉

Hope u r feeling better now, Aunty 😊 . I was one of the few, like u ,who didnt have hopes of Jalal s image being redeemed by any flashback scene showing that Jalal had it all planned, & so I wasnt disappointed when nothing of the sort was shown yday. From hereon, I ve decided I ll watch this show with dollops of salt, bcos the CVs can & will butcher or glorify any & every character in the whow if they want to. Will stick on with the show until all their crap becomes too unbearable for me, that s it 😕 .

It was good to see JoRuq bonding at last, but now Jalal doesnt seem to recognise who s near him or recognise their touch either. What it s meant to prove I fail to understand . Jalal seems to have misplaced his insightful senses along with his brains it seems. Dunno why the show seems to be regressing than going forward at this point of time, that s how I feel.

MA s on the way to her ruin looks like, but not before she makes some major strikes on Jodha & Jalal too. Again more discrepancy here. Jalal was shown to suspect MA s loyalties to him & watch her keenly ever since Adham s case up, but now again U turn on that too. He s back to his badi Amni jaap. Was I mistaken in seeing things that weren't there or have the CVs decided to confuse, I dunno.

Anyway, let s see how the story goes on from here, a story that doesn't look all that promising right now to showcase Akbar s greatness or JoJa s epic love story either, to me atleast. Pardon me for sounding so pessimistic, but am still mad at the CVs for what they did to Jalal s character .

My dear Gargi,

Thanks a million for the sweet comments, but with all that load on your back, the forum or my posts should be your last priority, unless you see them as a much needed diversion.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed until I bid fair to win a Ms Pretzel Queen contest, for you to surface from the present ordeal with your sanity and your good humour intact. Medical exams are a tremendous test of both knowledge and stamina. I am sure you will come out very well in both respects, but here is wishing you all possible luck in any case.

Affectionately,

Shyamala Aunty.

My dear Sandhya,

Thank you for such amusing comments; they made me laugh out loud though I was hardly feeling like laughing after nights on end struggling with a sinus attack, on top of all the rest. @blue is hilarious; you clearly have a flair for wicked humour!

In fact, when Paridhi was reeling off all those 25 examples of where all one could find sangeet, I was admiring her ability to learn all that stuff by heart and regurgitate it without drawing breath. But it sounded very pretentious, boring, and condescending. If I were a man, and had to face this sort of self-congratulatory bhashan daily, I would cut and run😉 , as would most men, I can tell you. But our Jalal soaks it all in and asks for more!

As for boudoir scene to come with a sozzled Jalal, do see a very sensitive take on what could be by komalcutie at http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3846998, in an OS called, befittingly, Epiphany.

Thank you, my dear Pallavi, and I do hope to be really back soon.

As for the rest of your comments, I am with you in toto.

It is dismaying to have our hero reduced to doing nothing but sitting around, crying to keep company with Begum No. 1 and nodding his head like a clockwork toy while absorbing the abundant wisdom of Begum No.3, whether it about manipulating the awaam or about the boundless beauties of sangeet.

In fact, when Paridhi was reeling off all those 25 examples of where all one could find sangeet, I was admiring her ability to learn all that stuff by heart and regurgitate it without drawing breath. As for the bloopers like the one you have pointed out, about Mahaam and Devanagari, the less said the better. What really puzzles me is this: what will Mahaam do when, as is inevitable, Jodha tells Jalal that she had written no such thing? It seems to me to be a very foolish risk to run, and to what purpose? To make Jodha look like a deceitful minx who would lead the Shahenshah on and then turn around and berate him? It sounds ridiculous.

In any case, Jalal looked bemused and not quite convinced by what was said to be in the letter, and no wonder, after all the fuss Jodha. had kicked up in the past on this very topic. And which 16th century woman would write a blatant come hither letter to a man, even if he was her husband, and then mention publicly how much she was looking forward to the ratri?Anyone with an IQ over 60 should have smelt a rat.

As for my posts, I write them in part to amuse myself, and if they amuse you too,why that is a bonus!

your post never ceases to amuse me aunty, welcome back..🤗, very happy that you have recovered from the viral and we also just recovered from a viral track as well,,😉..

Anyway one of the greatest reform of Akbar had been shown in such a poor light and with so much butchering of Jalal's character that if still the ghost of real Akbar has not haunted Ekta, I admit his ghost is also great as him and exceptionally patient.😆

The epic love story is no where near in range of vision and it has turned into an epic torture of creepy tracks, some scenes really and exceptionally come out well also as saving graces in the heap of trash as you mentioned, but directing an entire track with that exceptional proficiency and logic is totally absent..

And absurdness can't leave ekta show,in the miscarriage track Jalal himself said when he exposed the 'humsakal' to everyone that his badi ammi knows only two languages,Urdu and Arabi and and that twin used to write in Devnagari which first caught his attention to her, so now how can he ask maham to read jo letter which must be written in Devnagari if she had not asked Salima Begum to translate her letter into urdu,,😕, or possibly she really would ask salima begum to write a thanks giving letter in her name, or may be maham has learnt Devnagari secretly, which Jalal doesn't know,.Now really a simple letter writing seems a mystery itself..😆😉

Dear Aunty,
Usually you give us so much joy and pleasure with your posts aunty.
I'm glad that I was able to give you a few smiles when you were unwell.

Thank you for such amusing comments; they made me laugh out loud though I was hardly feeling like laughing after nights on end struggling with a sinus attack, on top of all the rest. @blue is hilarious; you clearly have a flair for wicked humour!
Actually, my dismay at the current state of the show is directly proportional to my expectation from it in the beginning and the way it was handled for the first 80 episodes or so, inspite of minor errors here and there. I was rooting for the lead pair. They were both controlled, majestic and dignified. But since the Amer trip, we suddenly had an impertinent jodha and a saintly jalal, and since then the characters have twisted themselves to suit the track. Except for a few exceptional episodes, everything of late seems to be a farce, esp the Tasneem track. Hence my derision. (But I still hold on, hoping against hope, that someone will catapult it again to its original heights).

If I were a man I would never get anywhere near the 100 yards circle of such a self-satisfied woman who seeks perfection in everyone and everything (inspite of her own limitations) and has such a penchant for oration irrespective of time, place and situation. Jalal certainly seems to be a unique specimen. They say love is blind. But in his case, we can confidently say love is deaf.

Thankyou so much Aunty, for drawing my attention to the OS which I would have otherwise missed. It was very touching and delicately written. Wish the cvs do handle it that way. But sensitivity is something the cvs have wiped clean from the show of late. Had all the tracks, recently been handled with, displayed logic and such finesse as this os we wouldn't be watching a serial at 8, we would be watching a classic unfold.
Alas, this is not the way it is going to be. Jalal is going to be rejected and he is going to go to hospital Benazir to be healed!?!?!? 😕🤢 They made him do a Rukmini, then a Raam, now they are going to make him do a jalludas (like devdas)😭. What is more scary is the possibility of another bhaashan on ashobhaniya vyavahaar, anuchith vichaar and stree samman. Wonder who is going to be the victim this time... Jalal or Benazir.😲

With an actor of Rajat's potential in the lead as the fulcrum of the show, so much is being so pathetically wasted. The way the serial began, it was so promising.
