First of all a warm thank you Aunty...I think you know what thats for...😉

Frankly speaking i never expected cvs to show what i have written in the OS...Actually after watching friday's epi, there was this scene where Ja was saying how he is excited for the night...I knew in that very moment and then gonig through the precap that cvs have different plans. But i wanted to pen down my imagination anyway, so did it.😉 And i'm glad people are liking it...

Mallika-e-bhais...I think you've already got the working link..😊

My dear Komal,
From these comments, I can see how you came to write that Ephipany OS, which, incidentally, I have advised many of this thread to read. And I am being thanked profusely for it!

Your @blue is an expansion on my comment in this post about Jodha seeing a No Trespassing sign on Jalal, and you have done it very well. But as for what you want the scene tonight to be like, it is not going to happen that way, I am afraid.

As for @red, Jodha has so far, with very few exceptions, never i indulged in any self-examination, not to speak of self-criticism. I do not think tonight is going to be one of those exceptions.

Tripti my dear,

I am with you 100% re: @blue, but Meghana Naidu is 35 and will probably look like Jalal's badi behen. Nor does she look at all seductive in the photo I dug up online. I only hope she does not indulge in a Silk Smita item number. Btu Jodha deserves all this and more.

Hello Sasha aunty! Such a very long time, with you, being no-where to be seen!! 🤗
Hope you recover very well, very soon. It must be exhausting to be under weather for THIS long.

Benazir is a new ( fictitional) character to be introduced on the show. A very seductive dancing girl to played by a South actress called Meghana Naidu.

Her main purpose will be to seduce Jalal to gain power.
I for one, cannot wait!! 😉 Jodha , should be put in her place, from time to time.
This Saint Jalal is getting tedious to watch!!

As for your @blue, my problem is that they do not look to me like a romantic pair at all. She looks and sounds like a school marm, and he looks and acts like an eager to please and eager to learn pupil.

Love thrives on mystery and a desperate longing for the other. I somehow cannot see Jodha in this framework. She is too pedestrian and flat footed, full of improving bhashans and homilies. See what she reduces that description of the beauties of music to! An over long, pedantic, condescending and boring speech, which would have put off any man but Jalal.

She will never give him the first place in her life. In any love affair, there is one who loves and one who is loved. Jodha will be loved, but love him back the same way - I don't think she is capable of it. Not that it matters. Good for her if she can get away with a lot for next to nothing!

So it is brown contacts! Thanks for letting me know.

Shyamala Aunty

I hope you are feeling much better now.

I am so glad you feel the same way too. I don't find them a sensual or irresistible couple either, not epic love ohhh far from it, this is no darcy/elizabeth or thornton/margaret. I always thought of Jalal to be like thornton a man clearly misunderstood. Ohhh there is fireworks from the first shot to the last when they come on screen now that is called romance and you don't even have to touch each other. I pictured Jodha to be like Margaret, self righteous to a fault but you can't help routing for her. Margaret loved Thornton for who he was, he was a rough diamond, she didn't need to change him or his values, all he needed was love when she understood that primal point what an epic love that was.

Margaret's pride was well understood by the audience and it didn't taint the love story, infact it was her pride that was the perfect compliment to Thornton steadfastness. Here Jodha misplaced pride is suffocating to watch and it does not compliment Jalal's complexity, infact she weighs him down and this has nothing do with the fact she can't be a good queen, there is no hold your breath sort of feeling when she interacts with Jalal as a possible lover.

Aptly said about mystery being the crux of any epic love story. If anyone remembers that classic margaret/thornton scene where she leaves him after her father's death, now that scene is full of mystery it is a feeling how the scene carries with so much unsaid between them you are left wondering. The sense of mystery created when so little is said, but JA case too much is said and you put fingers in ears or like me fast forward the scene.

I should stop I can get carried away with my rendition of north and south hahaaa.

Thank you dear Aunty once again for taking out time and replying. I somehow feel that now you are on the way to recovery . After all so many sincere good wishes cannot go in vain.
As for Jalal and Jodha making a romantic pair , I hold my statement . I meant more of Rajat's Jalal and Paridhi's Jodha. There is no denying that they make a great on-screen couple . As far as the mystery and desperate longing is concerned I feel that mystery is the basis of this love story. What more mystery than an orthodox Hindu princess marrying a much married Muslim invader whose roots lie well outside India. As for Jodha Bai with her sermons and patronizing attitude I have always spoofed about it in my posts. In fact that was my very reason for starting to write in this forum . But the other and most important reason for joining this forum is that this is the only serial I have watched and followed in a really long time . And I would be lying if I say that the fascination for this love story is not the reason behind it . I will pass off Jodha's sermons to Jalal as the first awkwardness of love . Poor girl, she is a novice when it comes to a man - woman interaction .She is hiding her awkwardness by doing what she is best at - sermonising . She thinks she'll impress her Shahenshah with that . (I'm sure all of us will relate to the first few awkward conversations of our first loves in college )
Now , coming to Jalal , he has never met a woman like her. His other two Khaas Begums were after all his first cousins, one his childhood friend and the other much elder to him. So we are made to presume that the first wife he fell in love with when he came of age would have been Jodha . As for him being an ardent pupil, why not ? He's smitten I think more by her beauty than her brains . Again the basis of love for all men. And about her Sangeet Bhaashan , I wonder if that was what he was listening to . I guess the hot promo was replaying in his mind . 😉 . My only complain is that a Jalal submissive to Jodha is acceptable but not when it comes to policy decisions . He should show more brilliance and independence in that . And Aunty, it is the beginning of their love story . The desperate longing is yet to come . And once Jodha realises her love , she will no longer be pedestrian . Right now she's not even jealous . And it's jealousy that always makes one aware of the other sensation called love . That is the take of a romantic like me , who has grown up on Jane Austen . I see a little bit of Emma and Elizabeth in Jodha. And a Knightley and Darcy in Jalal .

Waiting for your final take Aunty(and for some members for chastising me for the Austen-ified comparisons

This has been irritating me since a very long time so I shall write it down today-
WHY ON EARTH does Jalal keep stressing that Jodha is misunderstood like HE used to misunderstand her?! 😕

He has told that to Ruqaiyya a few times, Saleema too I think.. But it is a ridiculous thing to say because Jalal has never, ever mis-understood Jodha! He has always known that Jodha cannot consciously harm even a fly, where on Earth can she scheme & plot like master? Like Jalal?

Is this another cooked up re-iterated line by the CVs 🥱 or does he say this repeatedly to Ruqaiyya as a clever psychological tactic?

The one thing that Jalal has always been amused by ( and even admires) that lets him withstand Jodha's cruel taunts & witchy manners ; is this. Jodha's Innocence.

It amused him in Amer when he (in disguise) heard her deliver her well-revised lecture against killing his best friend Abdul ( where on Earth are you?!) ..

Today, he is amused by & simultaneously, admires this same Innocence!

Then why does he say this nowdays?

I think it is the CVs fudging it all up, as usual! 😵

Or, he says it to put Ruqaiyya at ease..

If it is the latter, it makes sense. If the former, not at all! Because that Jalal is a Human X-Ray Machine, is something everybody lauds!!

Yes, it is the unsaid which makes romance felt by the viewers/readers. Remember the climax of the Roman Holiday. The awkwardness felt by Lizzy/Darcy at Pemberly where both of them re-valuate their opinions of each other with verbal communication at a minimum.
But no point expecting such delicate finesse here at JA with Jodha ready with her similies and metaphors on each subject. When she can rope in a quarter century on music she will surely hit a century on love. Somehow she also has the uncanny ability to articulate them with least emotional feel. You feel as though she is reciting at a rhymes competition.
Coming to the mystery content in JA, the only mystery you feel here is how Jodha can still be so un-feeling even after Jalal has bent to break-point and how Jalal has suddenly fallen sooo much for her inspite of her stings and tirades and treating him (only him) as though he is from an alien planet. (Of course the other big mystery here is the origins of the curious vachan.)
You can put the earlier aarti/ jalal appreciating jodha's poem for ruqaiya's child/rahim pulling jo's dupatta in that category of unsaid but felt romance. Even when they were bickering at each other earlier, you could feel their passion, but now with a ghulaam shahenshah and pedestal placed begum (wonder what she has done to earn that pedestal) even the repeated speeches and explicit actions do not give any feel of romance.
Btw Loveamine, I haven't yet read north and south. But after reading your effusive admiration, I am very much tempted to.

Loveanime, I have read only half the book but I watched the show. Love Richard armitage and LOVE Thornton . Such a beautifully scripted character , misunderstood but yet so easy to empathize with , complex but so simple , and just wanting Margaret without becoming a majnu about it . I can never get enough of that story . Mad love for it !!

The look back, look back at me , is one of my favorite favorite scenes !!

I believe I have seen hell and it's white , Snow White !!

The proposal scene , the party , his relationship with Bessys father , that kid oh my gosh I can go on forever about Thornton ! I like him far more than I do Darcy . I love Frederick wentworth too . That letter is one of the best I have ever read !!

But Thornton , sigh , I cannot say enough ! Imperfectly perfect creature !! Hope to finish the book soon ! Thortonnn
