On a brighter note, I like this track. It is so intruiging. What started out as complaint against a single person, has snowballed into something so much bigger. It affects the royal family both politically and personally. It is a path-breaking law and a deviation from the tradition with far-reaching repercussions. These just laws made Akbar one of the greatest kings who ever ruled. I am glad they have included such tracks in this serial. 👏

Hmmm. No doubt Jalal will pronounce the law in effect henceforth. But I think he didn't proclaim this right away because he was so involved in the welfare of his kingdom, he didn't realize how the law would affect his marriage with Ruqs. Adham Khan accused him in full court, Jalal now needs to figure out a fitting reply, without making it look as though he's bending the law to his own benefit.

Divorcing Ruqs will not happen. Jalal would never do that. I only wish he could have fully supported Ruqaiya but let's see what happens tomorrow.

I think Jalal needs the validation of an outsider, that child marriages in the past are still lawful. He also needs to figure out what to do about these marriages if some party does have an issue. For example, the little girl who just got married before the law was passed. Should she not be able to get out of it, if the law is pronounced as henceforth?

Like you said, it's a logical conundrum. If Jalal declares all past child marriages illegal or lawful, there will be issues and concerns either way. It's possible some of these marriages were successful and some were not, with parties still trying to find a way out.

This track may be stale but the issues are intriguing.
