Abhay, I have been thinking since watching yesterday's episode, so please excuse the psunami of questions😆

I want to know what was REAL AKBAR's age when he did this?

They are showing us REAL events but are they in chronological order?
I find it incredible that Akbar was thinking about slavery abolition at age of 21!!! He was so young!

I read Akbar had pardoned Shariffudin 4 times before finally asking Bakshi Banu to met out justice.
I somehow find it unbelievable that Jalal would pardon Shariffudin if he had learnt of his evil eye on Jodha. So did Jalal learn of Sharifuddin's hand in the attempt on his life, or he only suspected Abul Mali? Did Jalal learn about Shariffudin's compliance with Abul Mali but not learn about his intention towards Jodha!

Was Bakshi Banu also again part of any plots against Jodha?

Some wrote that there is information that real Akbar had stopped talking with Rukayya. Since Rukayya would not have plotted against Jalal, WHAT DID RUKAYYA DO against Jodha that made him stop talking with her? Did Ruakyya try to harm Jodha's life in some way

They showed somebody try to harm Jodha on their Ajmer Shariff trip. Were attempts made on Jodha's life as well?
Did MA try to harm Jodha?

1. For Harem. The names which we read -> Hamida Banu Begum. Followed by Salima Begum and HK/Jodha. This is what we have read in texts. None of us have read about any other name. Also, it was not that a particular lady ran the entire harem. She was supported by many other officials also. Check Ain-e-Akbari.Vol-1, Pg-44.

What exactly is a Taha- wil- daar?

Taha-wil-daar was a post in the Mughal Harem.Basically they were associated with handling of the cash.

If a woman wanted anything, within the limit of her salary, she applied to one of the Taha-wil-daar (cash-keepers) of the harem. The Taha-wil-daar then sends a memorandum to the writer of the harem, who checks it, when the General Treasurer makes the payment in cash. The writer also makes out an estimate of the annual expenditure, writes out summarily a receipt, which is countersigned by the ministers of the state.

It is then stamped with a special Imperial seal, which is only used in grants connected with the Harem, when the receipt becomes payable. The money itself is paid by the Cash-keeper of the General Treasury to the General Taha-wil-daar, who on the order of the writer of the Harem, hands it over to the several Sub-Taha-wil-daar for distribution among the servants of the seraglio.

Why are you shocked.?.
Any Mughal Begum who had the right to issue farmans HAD the seals. It's normal.😊

And, it is NOT that only one seal was present with the Mughals. More were there.




I am mentioning again these statements here.


These statements are from the text of , Edicts from the Mughal Harem. ( Idarah-i Adabiyat-i Delhi), compiled by Tirmizi. The following lines appear on page. 127-128. (Check pages. i feel they are correct)

"
Some ladies had the exclusive privilege of issuing official orders.
The right of issuing royal farmans was the exclusive prerogative of the emperor.
There were other official documents like Hasb-Ul-Hukm, Nishans, Sanads and Parwanas which were issued by the high officials and Princes.

But in some cases farmans were issued by queens and princesses.

This issuing of such orders was confined to the highest ladies of the harem such as
Hamida Banu Begum,
Mariam-Uz-Zamani Begum,
Nur Jahan,
Mumtaz Mahal,
Nadira Banu Begum, and
Jahanarra Begum

Abhay, u didn't get my the point...i m saying that i read on a article that akbar's imperial seal (seal which bears akbar's name) was kept by HAMIDA BANU BEGUM or SALIMA BEGUM and shahjahan's seals were kept by MUMTAZ BEGUM because shahjahan had a lot of trust on her...So i m saying that hav u got any kind of info on this matter??????????????????????????? I m shocked because to give someone a seal in which ur authority vests the person may abuse ur authority by using ur powers in faulty works...😉..😉.😉...

ABHAY, I hav an serious doubt. U hav said that MUZ alone had in entire mughal period had the rank of 12,000 cavalary. But i hav read an info on a bookj written by SWAMY SATYANANDA GIRI on his book AKBAR in page 247 that WHEN AKBAR WAS ABSENT IN 1581 IN AFGANISTAN THE CARE OF INDIA WAS ENTRUSTED TO HAMIDA BANU STATIONED IN SIKRI AND ASSISTED BY 12,000 CAVALARY...dat mean hamida banu had also 12,000 cavalary ???????????😕 😕 😕

Regarding the possession of seals i wrote in previous reply.(check there) 😊 . From Akbar's Era, We have found farmans from 2 ladies ONLY till now - HB and MUZ.

Here, telling that Seals were of Different types, so they can NOT be mis-used so easily. Because Every Seal was for different purpose. And, the Seals of High Authority were with Important Royal Ladies Only, whom the Emperor Trusted. That's why every Queen could NOT issue farman.

Seals were used in the 3 branches of the administration.

A circular type of seal, upon a surface of steel, in the 'riqa' order, had the name of Emperor Akbar and his ancestors up to Timur-Lang.

Another seal of similar type, in the 'nastaliq' character, only with Akbar's name.

For judicial purposes, a second kind of seal was made, in 'mihrabi' form, which had this verse round the name of Akbar " "Rasti mujib i riza i khudast, kas nadidam kih shud az rah i rast." This means -> "Uprightness is a method to please God; I never saw any one lost in the straight road."

A new seal of the second kind was made, later improved to make a modified version. The first one was a round small seal which had the Chagatai name of Uz'uk(😕), and was used for farmans; and the large one, into which the names of the ancestors of Akbar was present, was at first only used for letters to foreign kings, but later began to be used for farmans also.

For other orders a square seal was used, engraved with the words -> "Allahu Akbar, jalla jalalulu" . Another seal of a peculiar stamp was used for all matters connected with the harem. For the seals attached to farmans, additional stamps of various forms were used.

Note:
1.So, you see there were different/many Seals.
2. Every type of Seal was used/demarcated for a special purpose.
