Jodha:a bad mother? DT Note Pg 7

I was surprised today when I heard Jodha saying that she was planning to leave her child behind in Agra and go away. I mean I understand that she is hurt and sad and mad at Jalal but to plan to leave an innocent child without a mother was a bit cruel in my opinion. Kind of reinforced jalal's opinion abt mothers since his own also left him alone. What r ur opinions?

Technically her husband did rape her. The child represents her loss of dignity. Any self-respecting woman is valid in doing so. She has been deeply hurt. She thinks of this the only way to going back to live her life with at least a modicum of self-respect. Try to empathize with her too. 😔

(Considering that abortion wasn't an option) Even if the child was the result of a rape by a complete stranger and an utterly abysmal criminal-of-a-man, I wouldn't have it in me to separate myself from my child if it ever came to that!

Personally, I found her statement very wrong in many fronts!!!😵

The only reason I didn't bother writing about it is because of the stupidity of this track - i.e. that she's not even pregnant in the first place!

Right ! A woman is suppose to stay stuck with her raper of a husband (as she knows ), n the result of violation.
We should be thankful that she has such a kind heart that she couldn't think of hurting the child or in such cases, we routinely advice MTP for our patients.
Are u serious ?? The child still will have so many ppl to take care of it. It's not like it ll die out of neglect.

It is deeply hurting to see even women not sympathising with women in trauma. Shouldn't be surprized at all that in our country a rape victim really gets few options n often get stuck with the abuser because of social pressure. She's not to have her self respect n her basic right to live life in her own terms. It's always hell of a difficult job to rehabilitate rape victims in our society due to lack of public sympathy. Very unfortunate.

I always try to not judge people. We don't know what is like to be in her place..
