This is where they all are misunderstanding Jalal.All of them thinks he only wants 'IT' to make him happy and then he can discard them like stale bread.
I believe that its Jodha whose the first person to understand and realise that Jalal yearns for an emotional relationship not a physical one.Since Jalal shares a physical relationship with Ruk then she can never understand that part of him.Jodha on the other hand is the one who doesnt share that kind of relationship with him thus making way for an emotional bond with him.That is what makes Jodha different from the others.She doesnt need to establish any sexual relations with him for them to bond.
May be...you know...they way his begums keep harping about the same thing make me go ewww...jodha hurling accusations at him...then, ruqaiya marching to his chambers and asking him what he is upto with his other wife...? Gosh!!! He is shehensha..for god sake!!!
